Beautiful church, lots of history. Fr Carter is doing wonderful things with this parish and his homilies are always good. The Traditional mass at 11:30 is done well and even the modern masses done here are done reverentlyFr Carter along with his brother priests here have done a great job of catechizing the faithful here and it shows through their attitudes toward the holy sacrifice of the mass.

This is by far the most traditional and reverent Novus Ordo Mass I have seen. The use of the communion rail plus Latin versus the vernacular in the Mass parts is stunning.

Beautiful Gothic Style Catholic Church. Irish priest Father William Walsh was appointed pastor in 1887 and immediately made plans for a new church. Ground was broken Feb. 1, 1888, and the church was dedicated June 29, 1890. Then–pastor Father George Flanigen, in his 1952 history of the parish, described the building as an “imposing Gothic structure of brick and stone, 165 feet long by 75 feet wide, seating 1,000 persons.”

My second home; of course it would be my first home if they will let me live there LOL. It is such a great place to feel the presence of the Lord and to attend the most blessed Mass.

As a young adult, I absolutely love how traditional this parish is! They have a wonderfully devout community. Of all the churches in Tennessee, this church is the one I most want to raise my children in.

Beautiful church with Tiffany Stained Glass Windows. Mass has alot of signing in the Latin language. Worth a visit for stain glass.

Such a beautiful and historic basilica. It was recently renovated and they did an amazing job! The church is beautiful! It seems to both take you back in time and direct you towards God. They have many relics you can view, which is really cool. The Mass is beautiful and everyone is so friendly! Lucky to have such a beautiful church in East Tennessee!

This parish does a beautiful job of promoting the faith in a reverent and traditional way. The history of the church combined with the emphasis on traditional liturgy make this place truly special. Also, with the inclusion of a vibrant and devout Latino community, there is an element to this church that I haven’t found in other parishes in the area. I feel blessed to call Sts. Peter and Paul my home.

Excellent parish. The priests are very cordial, orthodox priests. church it self is beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, they have a very limited number of traditional Latin masses available, but the Novus Ordo Sunday, 11:30 masses are just about as reverent as youll find in Tennessee (ad orientem, Latin, communion rail, Gregorian chant, etc.)You will find a good number of young, devout families, with many kids. (Thats a good sign! If you dont hear babies crying, your parish is dying!) It is very close to many restaurants and cafes should you want a bite to eat after mass.

What a lovely church - both the building and the people. The music was beautiful too. Look forward to visiting again when we are in the area.

I love coming to this church for Traditional Latin Mass every 4th Sunday!

This is the only church in downtown Chattanooga and it is beautiful! The masses that are said here could easily be a background photo! The priests here are very kind and really take their time to help their congregation. The basilica has just under gone a restoration and it looks better now than before. If you havent seen it within a year I suggest you go see it again!

Great experience. Handicap accessible (ramps and elevator available), kid friendly, and a welcoming community. Music is great, the architecture and art are beautiful.

Beautiful church. Stopped in here with a co-worker during a work trip. We were fortunate to hear the organ play and get a tour. It was a beautiful way to spend an afternoon.

Went to a funeral in the downstairs and it was very nice. I heard it’s beautiful upstairs but they are doing the floors.

Father David and his Associate priest have returned the liturgy of Holy Mass to the sacred and the traditional in so many ways. The sermons are meaningful. The physical beauty of the basilica is amazing, The music is sacred and ethereal and harmoniously focused on parts of the Mass. Even students from nearby UTC are attending in growing numbers. My only tiny complaint is that since this beautiful change, the parking lots are overflowing.

A good place to worship. The dutiable space for you if you wanna talk to God accompanied by meditative and contemplative hymns.

I dislike sermons in which the priest says that the Spanish have over 600 at their service and the give more money then the Anglo. I do Not feel that the changing in the church proper was necessary just to make a minority happy. It cost money that was not there. Because of many of the changes he is making back to Latin many of the seniors have left to other churches. He always talks down to seniors. We feel we are forced to go back to our childhood Mass ways and we do not appreciate that.

THIS IS A BEUTIFUL CHURCH AND THE SERVICES ARE VERY GOOD TO ME AND ALSO THE SCHEDULES FOR DAYLY MASSES ARE VERY CONVENIENT.

This historical church was renovated recently and is absolutely beautiful.

This church is BEAUTIFUL... it was built after the civil war and has been a landmark since. It’s a Catholic Church and all the people are kind hearted and amazing. If you are a visiting Catholic or just interested in the faith please visit this wonderful church.

Beautiful, traditional church, with lively and traditionally minded parishioners. Latin low mass every monday in the morning, and high mass once per month with beautiful choir. The novus ordo masses are respectfully done and beautiful as well.
