The city/parks and rec just rebuilt the baseball field and it is beautiful! The are baseball organizations are lucky to have this field. All of the old, stone bleachers are still there for spectators but theres brand new fencing all around the field including a permanent home run fence. Brand new backstop, dirt and sod too! It really is beautiful

Huge park, very walkable. You can play just about anything with the name ball in it there! Great place for a picnic.

Quiet and very lighted at night. You may see a few homeless people but no worries.

Great park. Crowded tennis courts though. Probably best to try a different park for tennis

What a great park. The little waterfalls, the ping pong tables, the pavilion (which sometimes has shady looking people there) lots a benches, clean and kept up really well. I like coming here, hope to visit this park again soon! ( Also right across the street is Sabor!)

Beautiful picture opportunities along with wedding ceremony places. Officiated a wedding here and it was perfect!

Great small park for both my kids who have different interest in spending time outdoor, older son love the basketball area, and the little one loves the play ground

Always enjoy taking a stroll in this park. They have a beautiful small rose garden here which is a good place to sit.

This park is the bomb! Its clean...And how convenient, its located in the heart of downtown Charlotte. There are two sides to the park. One side with basketball courts, a volleyball court with sand,grills, picnic tables, walking trail, and small beautiful waterfall. Nice for kids birthday or family gatherings.On the other side, there are a couple more picnic tables and grills; plenty of walking room and room to through around a football or frisbee. Have fun, enjoy, and live life to the fullest! We are great and worth it!

A nice park, but with nearly no people in it. It was a bit strange to be there more or less alone. But it has some sports spots in it and wonderful places to sit and relax.

Nice walking park, right in the middle of downtown. A lot of nice restaurant nearby; you can eat and then walk it off.

This is a very well designed park that is very fun to look at because it is at a different elevation to the road when you drive by it. This park features a basketball court which is usually pretty busy. The only thing I think it could work on is having some more parking spaces. It is in a very busy area.

Small green gem of a park near Presbyterian & Kings College. Dont miss the water memorial to a Central High teacher - nice that it appears to be getting some renovation attention !

Fantastic shade trees, open spaces, and playgrounds. Lovely green setting with nice views of downtown Charlotte. The water fountains could use a little attention, though.

One of the Citys older Central parks, nice. Great location, enough to satisfy the family/kids. An ice cream shop is a short walk away and food availability. Recommended to anyone. Great for a family cook out and/or party.

Great inner city park with quite a bit of history. Search put the historical markers. Part of the park was taken for Independence Blvd back in the 1950s.

Very nice park. We have gone for the past 2 years for prom pictures. It was nice to see the water fall running this year.

Nice park for walks, plenty of benches for sitting. Shelters and grills can be reserved from Park & Rec for gatherings and events. As with any park, be aware of your surroundings. This park is in two sections divided by Hawthorne Lane. Beautiful view of uptown in the westernmost area near Charlottetown Ave.

Although the city has done some things to improve the park, this is not a very good baseball field. The stairs are old and a hazard for parents/fans to stumble on. The field itself needs new grass. The dugouts need to be redone. If you are going to do something, do it right Charlotte. More proof that government is poor and inefficient.

Beautiful park area. Great place for gathering. Our only issue was no bathrooms were in area and you had to leave park area to use one.

Visited here for a Pet festival. The park has great walkways and trees. I took my Great Dane and she enjoyed the nice paths for walking. Great place for walking, picnics and any festivals that come to this area.

Nice, small quite park. Its clean for the most part, there is a lot of homeless people around, especially when there is a elementary school right next to it that plays in the park and the homeless often bother you for money. Other than the homeless its a great park!!

Been looking for a park to take the kids to. In nc we noticed they are few and far between. We found this park it had a great vibe plenty of equipment and space fot the kids to play. Hawthornes pizza right outside of the gates which in great. The only reason 4 start and not 5 is bexause the do NOT have bathroom facility on site which i found to be odd.

Needs more attractions, needs better grass, and needs to add another goal for basketball. place gets boring quick

Nice cap park. Gazebo area for hanging out and grilling, a playground area for kids, plus volley ball and ping pong and basket ball spots. No public bathroom and parking is right if the park is busy.

Awesome park in the city to talk, talk, meet a friend, play with the kids and run with the dog. It is nice to have a green spot to take you away from the traffic.

I like this park but wouldnt go if Im the only one there, a shady guy pops up once and a while. Also WATCH your children, watched a guy follow a kid around until he saw me filming him and ran off, literally.

We went for july 4th foreworks.. damn good view and kids loved playing at the play area for the wait time.. but always stay close with kids and family..

Nice park with a lot of trees and a paved walking trail cutting through. It is lower than the surrounding roads leaving the ground a bit soggy a couple days after rain.

Great place for kids, picnics, basketball, football, volleyball, or just exercise walks. Easy access to trolly too.

Its different from most parks and it has a great walking trail. Not crowded at all.

Park is really cute and kids love it. But lack of restroons is awful. When i was there last i saw 3 bandaids laying about. So maintenance is lack

Large urban park, probably less well known than Freedom Park but just as nice. Really great place to read a book.

I attend an annual event here called Naturals in the Park. The park is very well maintained and alway exceeding our standards
