This is a nice venue. The show last night was exceptionally entertaining with the production, HOLIDAY INN. Wow! were those kids talented, dancing, singing, delivering lines spot on. Two or three have the talent and stage presence that could shine on Broadway. Kudos to the crew too. Well be back.
One of Charlottes best secrets is CPCCs arts plays and musical series. Holding almost 900 people, the theatre department produces great regional level productions. Have been a annual subscriber for years. Check out their varied offerings. Attendees are mostly senior adults. Great value, experience and opportunity to try Charlottes many excellent restaurants.
We were here for a youth orchestra concert and I have to say I was pretty impressed. The theater felt professionally ran and had the same amenities and feel you get if you headed uptown to Blumenthal Theater --just on a slightly smaller scale. The box office staff were very friendly and polite, and the theater was extremely clean, with a beautiful entrance and spacious foyer. There is parking immediately connected to the theater, and also parking up the street to the left for the CPCC campus. It was very easy to locate and find parking and parking was surprisingly free --perhaps I parked in the wrong spot and didnt get towed?!?!Overall it was a fantastic experience and really enjoyed the venue. There are a couple of restaurants immediately connected to the theater, a Sbarros and a Mexican fast-food spot, which honestly Id avoid, they werent that great of an experience --there is a separate review for those. Aside from that, great location.
Iris DeWitt, J. Michael and just everyone put on a really good show! Thanks for a good time.
Nice theater. Very clean. Great lighting
Really enjoyed the venue and the show, Little Shop of Horrors. Venue itself offers goo viewing and great acoustics, for a perfect experience. Definitely recommended.
Good seating, nice place to see a play amd always an excellent play.
Very nice theatre! Comfortable seats, nice bathrooms, big open atrium/lobby to accommodate large crowds moving around. Nice ramps and elevators for accessibility. Only complaint is the parking garage stairwells and elevators look like they havent been cleaned in a decade plus, gross...
This is a reasonably price theater at Central Piedmont. There is really not a bad seat in the house. Parking is free, but its a pain getting out sometimes
Nice venue for a performance. I have both performed in this theater (with an orchestra) and watched others perform (both orchestra and the play Fiddler on the Roof). Plenty of seating and good lighting.
Excellent experience! Lots of talent...and a wonderful evening out with family. Some of their musicals are the same quality as the Belk and NYC Broadway! Highly recommend.
Great venue. The seats all seemed to have a good view of the stage and the acoustics (for our dance competition) worked well. The stage and backstage areas we utilized were roomy and user friendly as well.
Excellent production of A Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder. Hilarious! Voices and music superb!
This is a beautiful theatre, which is even more surprising because it belongs to a community college. I have seen many productions here.
Because of the quality of productions performed here and the wonderful theater atmosphere one receives as they enter, we have committed to next seasons performances in whole. This is quality Theater for the common man or woman. Thank you.
For a community college, what a gem of a venue! Acoustics are good (thank heavens the program finally invested in a new speaker system a few years ago!), seats are comfortable, restrooms are large. I love that an art gallery is located off the lobby and open during intermissions. Parking can be a challenge if there are multiple events on campus.... Both getting into it and out of it. There are a dozen good dining options nearby on Elizabeth.... Everything from noodles to fine dining.
I had a great time I did not know Central Piedmont community college had an amazing theater such as this one. I definitely encourage other people to take the initiative and check it out for themselves you wont be disappointed.
Great performance of little shop of horrors. Parking is not great
Great place to watch Competition dancing. If you sit on the second floor its very hot. Needs a better snack bar.
CPCC has a Recorder Ensemble. They give a great concert in Tate Hall twice a year. Its worth checking out!
Lovely venue for live theatre.
Outstanding acoustics, excellent music, great shows. Best kept secret in Charlotte
Love CPCC theater. Great value entertainment.
Comfortable seats, great acoustics.
Its a awesome performing arts facility with a great staff
Went to visit on a school tour, the guide was very polite and everyone left with a better understanding of how a manual rigging system works. The theatre itself is absolutely gorgeous, would love to see a show here.
Comfortable seating. Parking is in a deck up the street. Congested streets. The theater was top notch.
This is a first-rate theater. Newsies was my third production there and it was the best of all!! I encourage anyone who loves live performances to take advantage of this local theater.
Nary a bad seat in the house. The middle aisle adequately wide but the side aisles extremely narrow.
Attended a TEDx event and really enjoyed it. Theres really not a bad seat in the house. People working were really nice as well.
Its not stroller friendly. Over all the facilities were accommodating
First time in this just large enough venue to hear the fabulous Kirk Whales..Jonathan Butler...Kent Whalum...and the dispel jazz was on. I had a wonderful time. I shall return. Need to have food rather then candy and crackers. Maybe hot dogs? Just saying.
My first visit to the Halton Theater to see A Chorus Line which was a really enjoyable show. Beautiful venue. Maybe its me but for quite a while I could not figure out where the Halton was. I never saw anything that said it is INSIDE the Overcash building. But follow the crowd if you park in the Faculty Theater Parking Deck. You might scout for parking nearby and not park in the deck as it is a typical parking deck pain getting out after the show. All in all a pleasant few hours.
CPCC’s theater program is the best value in town. The quality of both their summer productions and regular season are always impressive and ticket prices are so reasonable. Summer 2017 was my favorite. Summer 2018 so far is good but not quite as good as last summer. Saw Grease last night and was a bit confused by some of the cast changes but still enjoyed the show. Looking forward to The Mousetrap and Newsies.
I preformed here and the experience was great. All seats had decent view
Just left the last performance of GREASE...what a delight!! everyone involved in this show were up +100%...thank you all..a job well done
Everytime I go, I have such a great time. The shows are Broadway quality. I always get season tickets. Well worth it, plus you get a couple bucks off per ticket that way.
Great for kids and adults!
The CPCC Play I attended was well done.
Lovely venue, the musicals I have seen have been top notch! Dont miss a reasonably priced theatre experience!
CPCC put some great a short one of plays in this theater.
CPCCs grand theater and concert hall is a Charlotte gem.
Very nice theater, attended the Atrium Health annual talent show, excellent. The employees that performed last night definitely has talent.
Wonderful venue. Every seat is a good one.
Beautiful theater! Great seats. Not so small that you feel crowded and no seat is a bad seat!! Short walk from the parking lot.
Nice theater. Good for school trips and small productions.
We were there for a Bharatanatyam Arangetram, a private family performance. It was beautiful! The staff were very helpful, and the size of the theater, was perfect! After the performance, there was dinner! It was wonderful!
Jekyll and Hyde. Good singing and acting.
It is a beautiful theater. Great view of stage. Excellent acustics.
Nice theater on the campus of CPCC in downtown Charlotte. Watched the Broadway musical Chicago that was put on and it was great! Performances were awesome and well as the singing. I would not recommend sitting in the first 3 rows as these rows are flat with no incline and so the view is not the best. Nice facilities and staff along with talented dancers and singers make for a great evening.
Very nice facility. No bad seats.
Very nice. Had a great time with CPCC production of Oklahoma. Very nice theatre.
Great clean theater
Extremely nice theater!!!!! Not a bad seat in the house.
Beautiful theater... dont think theres a bad seat in the house.
Watched multiple CPCC summer plays it can be cold some come prepared but great price, and good shows.
College auditorium, has music, dance and dramatic performances
Love seeing the arts and not paying quite as much as you would at Belk Theater....we loved the Disney Newsies. Superb performance!
1st time there seeing Grease! Every seat (even in the back) had an awesome view! Will be back!
The show was great. Female cast very good. Male cast not as strong.
Perfect place for local theater productions and concerts. Love the decor! The acoustics make it possible to hear everything!
Beautiful theatre. First time there. Great performance by The Five Browns.
Good place for small to medium sized events. Good staff
Not a bad seat in the house. Great venue!
Saw Beehive..... it was exhilarating
Family friendly performance center
Very very nice auditorium.
One of the best theatres in the Charlotte area.
Wonderful concert.
Pastry did not taste very fresh and was expensive. Lots of choices, Ill be back to try other items.
Nice old theater. Too bad they have torn it down.
Getting from the garage to front door. Would be nice to have connected, especially in the rain. Also elevator didnt work in parking garage
Very nice theate .
Because I played in the orchestra.
We saw Oklahoma! Great venue, seating comfortable.
CPCC theater Productions are always exceptional in the theater itself is lovely indeed
Adequate performance hall. Depends on the presentation.
