I moved down in March from NYC and the first thing I looked for was a home in Charlotte as an artist - a place to be part of something and a space to create. I became a member, a studio renter, a Board member and a committee chair person - I just dove right in to participating. I really love what this place stands for and the variety of artists who show here. I absolutely love the community that has formed and the friends I have made through CAL. This place is a major fixture in my life and I recommend it to anyone seeking to be plugged in to being part of something bigger than themselves in the Charlotte arts community.

This place is a scam. They basically white washed graffiti, anything IS possible. They are nothing but curators without careers or decorum for human decency. They do not know how to raise funds for an agenda. I am embarrassed for this company, and I hope to find Jim Dukes and Chandler Snipes in court for selling what is not to take.

The director Jim is great! This is a safe place for the entire family. The Drive In on Sundays from 4 pm to 6 pm is the place to get out the house for wholesome entertainment during Covid-19

Great Art Gallery with a little bit of everything. These are all independent artist with one of a kind pieces. Because these are custom pieces you will invest more money than you would at a discount store but remember these are costing pieces not mass produced art work. The building is awesome with great meeting rooms, art development space and parking.

Wow, blown away by the talent here! The space is great and the vibe is very welcoming and inclusive. Honestly, the staff here is so friendly. I recommend anyone (artists, non-artists, art appreciaters, families, singles, kids, etc.) to come visit the Charlotte Art League. The events are especially fun with snacks, a bar, live music, raffles, and art for sale (reasonably priced too). Not much in the way of food or restaurants in the immediate vicinity/walking distance, however the heart of NoDa, with a slew of bars and restaurants, is just one lightrail stop prior. It looks like warehouse will eventually have other tenants including a restaurant.

Has a lot of fun attending the Sunday figure drawing. The host, Ida Mae (spelling?) was very welcoming. The crowd that day was friendly as well.

It’s back there I swear! Park by the Airstream and the door is at the top of the ramp. You’ll need to go left at Bold Missy with street closures, but if you’re looking for affordable local art- go. They’ve got a steady rotation of artists with tons of art for sale in a variety of styles.
