Me and friend got drinks from this place and we had a lady named Ari that was soooooo wonderful. Positive attitude, knowledgeable and very sweet! Way better than the bar up the street. HOWEVER, they only do bar table service so make sure you ask for someone who knows how to talk up a drink like her! Overall great experience, amazing drinks and fun games. From a person who never writes reviews, it’s obvious we will be back.
This place has amazing service. Me and my girlfriend were standing in a long line at the bar then 3 servers came to the line and took our order. Afterwards they told me to step to the right and they bring it to me or to my table. It was quick and efficient. Pins is killing it!! And the drinks were phenomenal of course! I didn’t get to tell them thank you but I appreciate all the staff who helped me have a good birthday last night ~~
Its ok, wish they had pool tables and more physically games out but its covid season so I get it
Good and affordable specialty cocktails. Dog friendly, great environment that can accommodate both smaller and larger friend groups. Has a picturesque modern interior while still housing the classic gaming systems and machines we grew up on. (90s and 80s babies). It has two full bars when fully open.So why not 5 stars: They typically have a food truck outside since they dont serve food in the building and theres no telling what the food truck will be. From tacos to hotdogs to waffles, a little all over the place. But they do allow outside food (not only the food truck out front) in the building.I feel like for how big the location is there should be more hand sanitizers or cleaning wipes near the games.Lastly, I feel like the specialty cocktails tend to be a bit on the weaker end. I would equate me drinking two white claws to me drinking 3 of the specialty cocktails.
Would be 5 stars but the lady with the purple hair is unnecessarily rude. The rest of the staff is sweet and this place is pretty cool! Great drinks
Out touring the SouthEnd with a friend and we decided to stop in PM. Right from the beginning, everyone was friendly and professional. Many options available...unreal playground. We will be back and hopefully Phase 3 or end of phases happen so the facility is used as designed.... take care.
Great place for hanging out with friends! All arcade games are free. You can bring your own food inside. Security and customer service was on point!
Great time and great atmosphere. If that doesn’t do it for you go there for the Legendary Papkin. He knows the area and will instantly improve your trip!
Weve been to the Pins in Columbus several times and are excited to have it in Charlotte. Our most recent visit was for a happy hour. We tried the Lisa Frank and the Hulk Hogan. Both were good. Theyre a little expensive for what they are, but theyre definitely going for Instagramable with these. You really come here for the games, which we didnt have a chance to play on this visit. Ive previously loved duck pin bowling and pinball. The environment is very open. Its a huge space. I think its very well done compared to the other social houses in Charlotte. The service was great. Well definitely be back soon to play some of the games!
Love the old games FOR FREE. Money spent on pinball machines goes to local charities. Employees are very friendly and they have ALL the beer choices!
SIDENOTE-Not trying to be funny but I saw a comment about there not being enough hand washing stations but there is one at every section of pinball machine or game. Just look!VIBES-Anyways I came here to say that I had a great time yesterday with my girlfriends. The drinks were cool and the games were fun. They are on the upper price but I think it’s worth it. Also they have a staircase that shows you such a beautiful view of Charlotte. This is the place to come with a large group of friends to enhance the experience. Oh and the crowd is very diverseCLEANLINESS-As far as sanitation goes...I literally watched the people in blue shirts sanitize their hands very frequently after dealing with customers ( kind of comforting to know and bizarre). In general I would say if you are worried about germs a bar is THE LAST place you should be but honestly these guys seem to be very cautious and try to keep guest with masks on.OVERALL-My experience was great. The staff are very nice. The food was good. This place is almost as great as Chick-fil-A. They provide mask if you don’t have one and just want people to chill and drink the safe way. Also they checked my ID twice, once at the front then my table which I found annoying but still had a great timE. I’ll be back here for HALLOWEEN
Big fan of this spot, fun atmosphere and good drinks. Food is pretty good as well, Ill definitely be coming back soon!!
Awesome concept and awesome drink recipes. The duckpin bowling was a hit with the group I was with. The only issue I have with the place is that there was no internal food. There are options for food which are a food truck thats right outside the establishment and another bar across the parking lot that has food that you can bring back into Pins. Loved this place though.
The service is a little strained, but the drinks are great. Wait list for bowling was long and due to corona no pinball machines were open. It would be better if it wasnt die to the pandemic.
Before Covid this place was an absolute zoo. Tons of fun. It’s not as good as QC pourhouse, but it is up there. Love it
The atmosphere was awesome! Took me back to my teenage days with the legendary video games. I really enjoyed the staff that works there. Theyre friendly professional and very thoughtful. They care about their establishment and the patrons who come there. Not to mention Im so loving the dog friendly atmosphere!! Its a great place to have parties or just hang out with friends family and pets!
Great atmosphere and a plethora of games! Love me some PINS
HUGE space filled with all kinds of games like mini bowling, giant Jenga, and arcade machines. You can even bring your well behaved dog too. Also, family friendly. Plenty of libations to choose from. I had the blue raspberry slush puppy with peach vodka. My tongue was Super blue! The music was jumping! Id definitely return another time!
After you check in with you mask and everything they asked you..its a free for all inside. NO ONE follows the rules.
I love this place!! Me and my husband found a waitress named Aria and she was just so sweet. She served us all night and was so kind that we only wanted to get drinks from her. Overall the service is amazing and the staff is just so nice. However, I would warn you that this place gets packed on a Saturday!! We are fairly new to Charlotte but we found a cool place and I will be coming here again.
Sporting a plethora of [both free and paid games] games, an endless variety of drinks, a beautiful open rooftop concept, and a modern, chill, and vibrant atmosphere, Pins Mechanical Co. is a new up and coming trendy barcade that is nothing short of a fun place to be for your nights out in Charlotte. While children aren’t allow here after 8PM, this is a great place to gather a group of friends for some dope drinks, self care, and endless fun The spacious building contains a wide spectrum of nostalgic arcade games including but not limited to Mortal Combat, The Simpson’s, Mario Games, Skee Ball, etc - free of charge. Paid games included pinball, mechanical bowling (which charged by hour or 1/2 hour), etc. I didn’t have the chance to full explore the place but the amount of free games kept me engaged for the time I was present . If you weren’t tryna play games, there were plenty of TVs, couches, and tables to just drink and chill. In addition, multiple areas of the building served drinks and had a wide selection to choose from. The staff was nice .I will definitely be coming back to enjoy the games and chill vibes that Mechanical Pins Co. has to offer.
Rooftop view of Charlotte is amazing. We went on New Years and it was also their 2nd weeks open, EXTREMELY busy and crowded but the place is a huge warehouse. You have to sign a wavier to get in, since it was busy they had one person do it for the group. Good beer selection, pricey but the glasses are twice the size of normal ones. Security was visible pretty much the whole time. The games seem fun, didn’t get a chance to play myself by someone in the group did. Would love to back when it’s less crowded. There is a parking lot to use, google maps will take you to the other side near the crispy cream and the brewery. We had to parking in the paid lot over there and walk which was not far at all, probably better to do that if you think it will be very busy, otherwise you’ll be parking on the street.
The time was 2252 when I attempted to order my last drink and was told that they had last call at 2245 so I walked to the side; however, after I walked away from the bar another a white male asked for one more round and was served. Will not be coming back.
Very cool spot with a lot of space! Lots of pinball to pick from, as well as outdoor games. Some of the mixed drinks are pretty pricey but they were tasty and strong so no complaints. Overall a very good spot!
This place is the perfect adult hang out spot. The mix of people was diverse and the music was good too. The drinks were a bit pricy but the atmosphere was on point. There are tons of new and old school games that can be played, it reminded me of Queen Park Social just a much bigger venue.
A lot of people say this place gets packed. Ive been here on a Sunday and a Wednesday and on those days it was pretty slow. Drinks are reasonably priced, the atmosphere is awesome, lots of free activities (and pay ones), cool drink ideas, they even got retro video games too! I dont go out to bars often but when I do I go here!
Came here with another couple Thursday eve. There are tons of options for games and activities. Great for a big group. Tons of space and dog friendly ️. The only downside was they don’t serve food, but they did have a food truck outside. Parking was a little annoying but it’s South End Nice place
Very crowded which isnt a problem...its a hangout/bar with lots of cool games. Didnt try any because of how busy it was. They were out of several popular beers...it was 9pm. No Modelo, Corona or Miller light in a car. You would think you would have those. Lots of dogs, is this not a liability issue? Very crowded place to have dogs I think. Atmosphere looks great and beer is averagely priced for the area though.
Great place for adults to act like kids again
Very cool spot, rooftop bar has a great view of the city. Tons of games to choose from, dog friendly and some really good craft cocktails.
Awesome place. The arcade game are free and the pinball is just 50 cents. The staff are very friendly and professional too. My drink tha was 3/4 done got thrown away while I was playing giant beer pong and the staff gave me a whole new drink. The vibe is good and you can bring your dog. We brought our kids the second time and they loved it They also made a couple of designs on the giant lightbright
Great experience!....the views on the rooftop are worth the visit. If you dont like big crowds then it may not be the place for you. Several games to keep you entertained.
Fun Games, Good Beer, and Great Views
I got asked for my ID at the door (scanned by iPad) after standing in line for 10 minutes. Then I went to order a drink and got asked for an ID for every drink I ordered. I asked if I could have a wristband for showing my ID, if they really needed to see it again after I showed it at the door. I was told no because there are “undercover cops” around and “people sneak in.” Horribly inefficient. Invest in better doormen or get paper wristbands.
This place is awesome! Big open area to hang out. Lots of FREE games of pingpong and skee ball, plus pinball and bowling. Huge selection of beer on tap. Upper deck and bar area. Definitely plan on coming back.
Cool location. A step back in the old times. Enjoyed a nice evening with colleagues :)
The place is really cool but also super overwhelming. When you first walk in you have to “sign up” and then next thing you know you are in a long line for a drink. The line took forever (as did the drinks) since it appeared most of the staff was new and didn’t know how to make many drinks.Service aside, the layout is so awesome with a gorgeous rooftop bar, fun (& free) arcade games, bonfires, pinball machines, mini bowling, and more, you will not find this place boring. You will, however, find it packed!A huge bonus for me is that they are dog friendly both inside and out and have some very instagram-worthy spots. You won’t regret going at least once, but depending on who you go with, just once may be enough.
Went here for New Years. The place was a blast and alot of fun, I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have multiple options for activities and ample space! Cannot wait to go back!
Very open, lots of different spaces to hang out, fun mixed drinks, and lots of games.
Place is a lot of fun. They have just about everything, duck pin bowling, arcade games, Jenga, tvs, have not tried the food yet but smelled absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place for all types of events.
Fantastic nostalgia mixed in with wonderful drinks and a great draught beer selection. I used to do duckpin bowling as a child and this is just as great! Highly recommend!
Great spot with a lot of fun games however the beer here is really overpriced. I think $10 for a draft pour is kind of insane. There should also be separate or dedicated water stations to reduce clutter at the bars. Service takes a long time due to overcrowding
Four stars for now for a chance of becoming a five when the new place hype dies down. The place is really fun, there are old arcade games, VHS tapes, mini bowling, many TVs and lots of other fun things to do. Right now though, to enjoy any of it you will have to wait in a 100+, not exaggerating, people line to get it. Then another 30+ people line to get a drink, and so one. Lines, lines, lines everywhere. Although the place is huge, everyone is on top of each other. Hopefully this is a side effect of being a new place that will level out and it will be less packed all the time. Another annoying thing is how they make you scan your ID at the entrance to create a profilings. In a world where everyone is out to get your data and privacy is impossible, the last thing I want to do is give some random bar my ID.
Great vibes with great people. Great location with a wonderful view of the Charlotte skyline. 10/10
While I had a great time with friends and the joint seems like it would be really fun...you can hardly enjoy any of it. It was so crowded and there was no room to move, play, or even hear conversation. There were pinball machines that werent in use but you cant get to them through the people just trying to find somewhere to stand. Then the upstairs bathrooms got locked with no signs that they closed and you had to join mass crowds going up and down the stairs to the bathrooms by the cage bar. There were 5 or 6 stalls and about 20 in line. This place was way to packed to have that going on. Everything just felt like a hassle. Have a backup spot ready to go to when you realize the disappoinment of not being able to enjoy the whole premis of this place. Not sure if well be back. If I did it would be a random weekday and as early as possible.
Really fun place on a weekend. Sunday or Saturday afternoon is great!
Very cool spot. Free games. Good beer.
Super nice atmosphere. Games and drinks. The only downfall is that there’s no food but food trucks come by and that makes up for it.
$12 for one beer, despite having ordered a small which was supposed to be $7. Train your bartenders to tell guests when smalls are not available for certain beers, cause this left a bad taste and we won’t be back. Went to bulldog next door and got the same beer and same pour for $6. If you wanna wait 30 mins for a “free” arcade game and overpriced beer, this is the place for you.
Great concept, and incredibly popular. Unfortunately my friends and I didn’t have the best experience a few weeks ago - music is SO loud you have to shout just to talk to each other at a table. Ping pong rental was $6 for thirty minutes (way overpriced, especially for a place that offers free arcade games) and the staff repeatedly reminded me as I checked out the ping pong paddles “remember, this is timed” to the point it was incredibly annoying and borderline condescending. I definitely got the message. Lastly, the systems weren’t working when we cashed out and the bartender rudely told us we couldn’t close out and tabs would automatically close at midnight with a 20% gratuity. Seriously? 20% when I don’t have an option? The place seems to be doing great, so hopefully they can work on these types of issues to make it a better experience for all.
Cool place to hangout for a group of adults and familes. Tons of free games to keep everyone happy
So fun!! Lots to do. Creative drink menu. Great atmosphere.
Nice spot. Free arcade. A little crowded on the weekends
This place is a madhouse on Saturday nights, but any other time of the week would be perfect. Multiple bars, including a rooftop bar with city views, and plenty of games that are either free or charge
OUTSTANDING experiences my 1st 3 times visiting. The FINEST management & staff! CHEERS to GM Jonathan Papkin for keeping this place REAL! This spot is WAY too much fun!!!! Wish yall were open at noon!!! Thanks again & see yall soon!Best,Mark Morgan
This place was real cool..! Came here for a night of a friends Bachelor Party Weekend, and we had no regrets!
Definitely a unique adult child experience. Duckpin bowling is a mix of skeeball/bowling/fishing but is a fun experience nonetheless. I was here for a company outing and was told it was $6 per person per game of duckpin bowling. Thats a little steep in my opinion and seems to be the standard if youre not playing the arcade machines. The beer selection is okay, I would like to see more variation in styles and maybe more local brews. They have a nice list of cocktails and mocktails, however, the cocktails I had were very sweet. It was a very fun experience overall and the key spot is the rooftop deck during a nice, clear night. It has a great view of uptown and you practically have a full bar to yourself because everyone else is downstairs playing games. Just sit by the gas fire, enjoy the view and a beer. Would come back again, hopefully on the companies dime!
Its great place in theory however with the large crowds theres no way to enjoy the facility to the fullest.
Super interesting spot! I am not much of an arcade guy but it was still really fun.
Says it’s open when it’s not. Has an extremely long answering service and phone tree backed by it forwarding you to voicemail after you wait forever.
Great place to hang with friends. Always a good time.
A super fun place to spend an evening. No kids allowed after 8pm
Cool spot, music way too loud though - my whole group agreed.
Cool arcade at the bar. Nice atmosphere, nothing to complain about.
Fun environment. We enjoyed ourselves.
Fun! But gets super packed on weekends
Old school fun in a new world setting!
Lots to do, awesome staff, and great service!
Beautiful space, and free classic arcade games.
Atmosphere was fun, but drinks are way over priced, and no waitstaff to get your drinks brought to you. So if youre playing a game you must interrupt your game.
Fun place. Lots of space
Really fun place to hang out.
Great place to enjoy games and new friends
Best to work and hangout!!! Free games, awesome cocktails, and great people!!!
Games, games, games! Need I say more? Oh, most are free!
Bro this place rocks
Worth going to with games drinks and fun
Nice
Fun place with duck pin bowling, bowling, garbage can pong, arcade games, pinball, etc.
If you go on a Friday/Saturday night, reserve a Lane asap, wait times are outrageous
No fee arcade, decent price drinks, clean, no cover.
Pins be hittin
All they missing is gocarts
This place is insane
Should not allow pets
Such a fun time!!!!
Cool place with retro video games that are free to play and mini bowling. Has cool outside spaces with fire pit, and balcony. Good beers on tap and signature cocktails. No food, but always a food truck parked out front and CM is next door. Gets busy at night and on the weekends and mostly an early to mid 20s crowd. Great for kids when the first open and free bowling for kids on Sundays.
