Its a great place to ball out with your friends. Whether youre with your kids, friends, or distant family it doesnt matter. If you want to play tennis and practice your backhand, go swimming during the summer months, or just get in a quick game of basketball (with a scoreboard) the Hargraves Community Center welcomes everyone. Especially the youth baseball and softball teams that want to practice before a big game. Ive personally witnessed the great team atmosphere during an afternoon practice as kids were cheering each other on, the competitive rush of a game of 5-on-5 basketball, the surprising amount of people at the pool in late July, and the staff members being attentive to everyone enjoying themselves. The community center makes sure they keep several lifeguards on duty, and enough personnel to make sure the kids on the playground are safe. Out of all of the places to have a family gathering, or bring your girlfriend for an hour (or two) of chill time, Id pick here.
Its fine - a small gym for parks and rec basketball.
Are there basketball rim token off or are they still on
Great playground for my daughter and friendly pool staff :)
Have not seen the place in summer time, full operation mode, but the facility is huge. There is parking, a swimming pool, close to free public transit. I noticed the facility is handicapped accessible. Cant wait till next summer to go swimming.
We went there for swimming. There were two attentive friendly life guards on duty during our trip.
Good playground for smaller and older kids. Its fenced and have a nice area for picnics. But the park itself is small and not very pretty. Will come back for the outside pool.
My family and I love the community center.
Well kept faculties. Open and cool space. Helpful staff.
Nice staff, great facility, basketball, base ball, and pool great place to hold any gathering
Good place for the community. I took my grandaughter to the swimming pool on summer time. And on Christmas for the party they had for the kids. Thumbs up.
We had rugby practice here. The staff was super friendly and the facilities were clean and very well kept. It is wonderfully managed
Decent outdoor pool. Nice staff. Ok dressing room. Semi-decent parking (for area).
The best community center..
Havent been there in 20 years. Still a great place to hang out play basketball go swimming great place to spend the summer!!!
Even in winter, children’s meeting place.
This pool is free and family friendly. Life guards are always present. There is even a kiddie pool.
Community center with indoor and outdoor basketball courts tennis courts outdoor pool playground for kids great family environment
Great place for your kids
Great place for children! Ive been coming here since I was a child
I went to day camp here as a child. Its still there and its still a great place.
So much fun
I love this place and in the summer time u can swim for free
Well maintained courts, good lighting and just enough bleacher seats. Could use more parking. Has good wi-fi that has Google VPN. Good crew running the facility. The outdoor pool looks nice but have only played or watched basketball at Hargraves. Also called Northside by Chapel Hill parks and rec., just to be confusing.
One of the best rec center in Chapel Hill with grate staff
Nice and great for family
A nice place for youth and families to gather and hang out. There arent many staff on--site during the evening, thats the only main concern I had.
Me and my kids had a great time
Tennis courts are overall pretty good! One court has some damage, but doesnt affect casual tennis playing.
Love this pool! Great place to take the kids!
