We had went to various fist stores last weekend and were not actually purchasing anything at the time. We are getting a fish tank for our son soon and wanted to check out local stores to see where we should give our business. This was conveniently located close to home. The staff was very nice and friendly. Their fish looked to be in good health and the tanks clean as well. I recommend this shop and look forward to coming back soon to make our purchase.

No one in this store was wearing a mask. When being helped, there was no discussion about the fish or fish care. However, it was very nicely laid out and well stocked. Having been to another aquarium store that day where the staff was exceptionally friendly and happy to talk about fish care, this store had a feeling of i need to get back to stocking this, so Ill shrug at your questions and not give much supplemental information.If you know what you need, great. Window shopping, great. Real advice where you dont feel like youre pulling teeth or leading the conversation? Not your place.Also, no masks. Not on the employees, not on the shoppers. No signs saying masks required. Not sure that says they care much about their customers. City has a mask ordinance.Edit: lowered the star rating as the owner has yet again proven the main point of not really caring about their customers as they only addressed the mask part and not the employees comments either.You may feel science is optional (despite aquariums being fairly scientific) so your choice on that point, but if you want better information and feeling very welcome, go elsewhere.

The best customer service from friendly knowledgeable staff, and lots of healthy beautiful fish & plants (saltwater and freshwater) to browse. Thank you for being a haven in this crazy COVID world.

I didnt catch his name today but a tall spikey haired gentleman in a blue shirt dropped what he was doing to talk shop with me. He did end up making a sale but I could tell that wasnt his motivation. He gave me some really useful info and the red headed girl who got my RODI for me was also very nice and made sure to thank me as I left.

This store is a hit and miss. Some people there are arrogant. Called once to see if they would give me store credit for a fish I had, spoke to them over the phone and was told to go in to the store. When I got there they gave me the round around and ended up telling me they couldn’t. They could’ve save me time and gas. After that I hardly went there and the few times I did go, I would walk in and walk out without being acknowledged. I took my business to Aquarium arts instead, more friendly people there and better selection specially prices and quality.

The staff here is amazing, always willing to put in the proper knowledge during those times that I just do not know. The team at this shop takes customer service to a whole different level. Hey man, we sold you a fish a while back that will not mix well with that fish how about this one instead? They did not only make sure all tank mates would be happy, they remebered the fish and corals in my tank. All of the ( customer centric) stuff aside everybody always has a smile and trys to ensure that you not only walk out of the store with the fish or coral best for you, they go above and beyond to make sure you have the same smile. Cheers to the team that just gets IT.

Great shop. Been to a few shops in the area, this one is the most helpful and personal. Staff is very friendly. Livestock is reasonably priced compared with other stores. Would highly recommend.

Terrible experience.... I live 30 miles from this store. I called well ahead of time about a very specific plant. I was told that it was in stock and available. I showed up an hour later and was told that it’s in their display/grow out tank, but not for sale. The store manager claims that none of their staff could remember that phone call.... very convenient - no ownership, no accountability and no customer service. I spend thousands of dollars on the aquarium hobby and I can’t get these guys to sell me a $10 plant..... customer lost, no referrals to other hobbyist, lost business potential.... the collateral cost of poor customer service is exponential in lost revenue. Mind boggling....

We were looking forward to coming in and purchasing some livestock for our reef tank. When we arrived there was no one at the front and not one employee came up to greet us or acknowledge that we entered the store. We looked around for about 15 minutes and although some of the tank setups were nice we did notice a handful of fish that were in poor condition. We passed by two employees while visiting and neither of them said anything to us even when one of them wasn’t helping a customer. A simple greeting would have made us feel more welcome. Finally upon leaving if it wasn’t for my husband to say goodbye, the employee at the front desk wouldn’t have even looked up to see us exiting the store. It was extremely disappointing and we won’t be coming back.

We have purchased 2 tanks from these guys as well as all the items that go along with the the tanks 1 was on the the show room floor and the other they ordered in for us, both experiences were great their store is well kept and clean the staff has been very helpful in answering tons of questions we had. In regard to aquariums and supplies their pricing seems to be on point with everywhere else even the online stores, livestock pricing seems to be high on some things but overall reasonable. Artistic aquariums is our go to store and hopefully will be throughout our newfound addiction

If you are looking to purchase fish plants or any type of accessories this is the place to go. I went in for freshwater plants. What a great selection for such great pricing. The plants are very hardy and healthy. Great selection of fish and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I also purchased a bristle nose pleco very nice specimen. All in all I would say definitely check this place out before you make any purchases anywhere else. Great selection great pricing very clean establishment friendly staff.

The staff if super knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They really listen to what your looking for and guide you accordingly. The store is very clean. The water was crystal clear with amazing lighting. The layout between fresh and saltwater was flawless. Set the standards pretty high for aquatics. Prices are spot on with comparisons to other places, including amazon. Will continue to support this business for some time to come.

I purchased 6 pygmy corydoras from here and when I got the fish in my tank I realized what they actually gave me were 3 pygmy corydoras, 2 small otocinclus, and what I believe to be 1 juvenile pepper corydora. On the bright side, the fish all seem healthy, but it was a little disappointing that they didnt take the time to make sure they gave me the right fish.

Fair pricing not one sick fish no ugly tanks not one, immaculate water conditions. For any enthusiasts this is the spot for you! Got an email with a $5 off coupon for my birthday. The coupon said it was good through the end of September. I went in to the store in the beginning of August to use my coupon and I was told told they had just switched operating systems and were no longer taking the coupon they had sent out a week earlier. No one offered to give us the $5 off and in fact we were given the impression that we werent really valued as customers. We were told too bad for the coupon. It wasnt even a big discount but I feel they should have honored it or given a store credit for next time or something. It was more the principle of the thing and the fact that we were told too bad when it wasnt even something we did.This was a very sad experience for us because we have always been treated well at this store but after the last visit, we will be finding a new salt water aquarium store.

Just came here for the first time and was impressed. The store is the most organized and clean fish store ive seen so far. Ive only been to 3-4 around the area but this was the nicest and the prices were not absurd for the care they put in their store. Im definitely coming back.

This store is one of the better aquarium shops, however their policy (posted on their door) does NOT require employees or customers wear masks. During a public health crisis, this is incredibly irresponsible. I likely will not return to this shop, and advise against others going there for their fish care needs.

Im giving store a 5 star and I had a couple fish die. They (like many lfs) do not offer a 5 or 7 day guarantee of saltwater fish. Can not get upset with that because too many people dont keep proper parameters, correct pairing of species, etc. The thing I like is the owner took the time to reply back to my message via Google multiple times. He even took responsibility by mentioning they should have suggested not buying the fish I did based on my tank inhabitants. Clean tanks, corals and fish are reasonably priced. Good stock of Red Sea tanks, equipment, dry dock, supplies. They also provide services like tank maintenance, delivery and moving. Ive been in the hobby a long time, been around a bunch of local and non local LFS. This is one of the better ones. There are other good ones around specifically in Mesa. Worth a trip. Thanks

Best part of this store is their customer service. Its never hard to find someone who will help you with what you need. Unlike some stores nowadays where employees will try to avoid customers, the people here will give you their attention and help you out, even if theyre in the middle of doing something. Their store is also very clean, and their livestock always healthy. Highly recommended!

Im new to the SW game. My son has picked up the hobby, so in support of him (and to be able to spend some time with my 17yo) Ive allowed him to set up a tank in our living area. This is something we are doing together. He has some experience but I know very little. We bought an additional tank and read up on some ideas and filter systems but needed some more info & supplies. Let me tell you-these guys were patient, kind and attentive with my probably super dumb questions and me rambling about something I read up on google. They pointed me in the right direction and helped me figure out what to do. I really appreciate the staff that helped us out. Good job Artistic Aquariums.

This LFS is top notch staff will take the time to ask questions about your tank when looking to add live stock including coral. I was set on wanting a fish and most stores would just sell it to you. however after the staff asked what I had in the tank they actually went through the reasons why I should not add it. They also will take the time to look up how compatible corals and fish are for the existing live stock in your tank. In short extremely knowledgable and friendly.

If you have healthe concerns dont go in here! They do not wear masks or social distance! Im not EVER going to step foot back in here again

So far so good. Got a canister filter here. Smaller than my old filter but just as powerful. Not as much noise as my last one either. They have freshwater and salt water fish and products. If youre looking for anything fish tank then stop by. Its worth the drive.

Artistic Aquariums is the best fish store in the valley. Ive visited basically every non-chain aquarium store here, this is the cleanest, with the best staff. Ive been going here for a while, and got a ton of fish from here. Theyve always been good, healthy fish. They used to be just a saltwater shop, but they annexed an adjacent store, turning it into an amazing freshwater wing, and now have an amazing selection of both fresh and saltwater fish.An anecdote about how amazing the staff is:I noticed one of my corydoras had been turning pale and lethargic. I checked the water, parameters were fine, did a big water change anyway, tried to think of anything else it could be, did a bit of googling, couldnt find anything. I guessed(incorrectly) that it was overfeeding and skipped a feed. One died the next morning. So I talked to the freshwater person I always talk to, Kari, showed her video of the fish, and talked to her for a while... She did a ton of research and figured out that it was a textbook protein deficiency! Ive read so many horror stories on the Internet of people overfeeding their fish that I was unconsciously scaling back the food over time and they were just not getting enough protein. So, I bought some higher quality food and Im feeding more now. Im hoping its not too late to save the rest of the fish from my mistake, but theyre already looking better.This would be another story of mysterious fish deaths for no reason without Kari and Artistic. The worst customer service I have ever received at an aquarium store. All the tanks dont have prices on them, and the employees are always seemingly avoiding you. Went in and literally waited at the register for 15 minutes, with no one else in line, and they had some kid behind the desk doing something else and just refused to take care of their customer. Went in a week or so later to buy a tank, and could not find anyone. Spent 20 minutes looking around and finally decided to just leave, but as we were leaving suddenly there was an employee, who seemed to not give a damn anyway. Never shopping here again, its a shame such a nice looking store has idiots running it.

This is my go to store I have bought a bunch of sw fish from them all have been healthy its been months and there doing great I bought a red sea reefer from them and they went out of the way to load and secure the tank and stand they ever try to sell me things I dont need or things more expensive then needed all of there staff has been great they will answer any questions you have see ya soon guys !!!!!!!!!

I only keep fresh water fish and the selection is still pretty great, almost all the fish are healthy and well cared for with very clear water. This place will also order fish for you if they’re not currently in stock, a definite plus! Also carry high quality foods and have life food options.

A great aquarium store. Staff are all very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. They have a really nice selection of livestock and equipment. They also run a lot of sales and even raffles with pretty decent prizes. I admit that I shop around because certain aquarium stores are better for certain things or types of livestock That said, Artistic Aquariums is my go-to place for most things and I really enjoy shopping there.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Beginners to experts will feel comfortable and welcome. They get to know your tank and ability and make helpful recommendations for a great tank. My family and a went in looking to add a fish to our 10 gallon tank and after spending 30 minutes talking with Chris he convinced me that my problems keeping the tank clean and fish alive was because of only having a 10 gallon tank. We jumped up to a 40 gallon and my only regret is that we didn’t go bigger on our tank. Now we have seven fish and the whole family is into the tank and interact with the fish.

Artistic Aquariums was my go to store for fish. They were knowledgeable and always friendly. Up until recently, we had a major problem and will never return. We have been coming here for almost 3 years now with no issues.We bought 4 new fish on the first weekend in April. Two days later the 4 fish we bought all had symptoms of ich. Within hours all 4 died. The next morning all of my fish (who some I have had for 2 to 3 years) had ich spots. We went down to the store and were sold Nox Ich and told it would cure the problem. No sympathy from any of the staff (as you know, ich is not something that just appears, its has to be introduced to your tank/environment in some way, in our case, ours was introduced to our already established/healthy tank from the infected fish we bought from this store).We used the medication as directed. 1 drop per gallon, per day, on day 3 do a half water change. Two more dead fish (who we have had for easily a year). We called the store and spoke to Chris, who was helpful but again, no sympathy for our now extremely ill tank caused by their product. He told us they could control ich and if the fish they sold us had it, it must have been dormant until we took it home. He suggested we continue the medication. We have continued the medication as directed. We currently have 2 fish left now out of 20. One is a pleco I have had for 3 years, that is now covered in ich.I understand things happen, and maybe they didnt know their fish were sick in the first place, thats not what is frustrating. What is frustrating is that none of the staff or ownership showed any sympathy after their product infected our healthy/established tank. Fish we have had for years and loved are now dead thanks to a new fish we bought from here. Even some sympathy or offer of a discount on new fish after our tank has been DESTROYED by this store would have been nice.Update, all the fish have now died and I have emailed the owner. Was floored by his response, which I have attached in a photo. To clarify, this is not a nasty review. This is sheer and honest truth from a consumer regarding a product sold by you, the seller. Not a single thing it in was nasty or in any way intended this way. This is not blasting you. This is warning your consumers of an issue I experienced with you the seller and your goods and services provided. Which is exactly what a google review is for. To express your concern or satisfaction with a good/service that was provided, as a consumer.Regarding posting this before speaking with the owner, I shouldnt have to. I went down there twice to get advice from his trained and hired staff. Once was with the store manager. I then called three separate times, and spoke with the manager again two more times.

I had purchased 5 fish for my established home aquarium. 1 of them died the next day and when I went in to see about getting the defective fish replaced I was told that they dont guarentee the fish once they leave the store. I dont mind paying a premium for aquatic life, but I expect good customer service and to stand behind your product.Update: The owner did reach out to me and is going to make things right. I have updated my review to 3 stars from 1 because I do appreciate the response by the owner.

So I was really excited to visit this place and see what they had to offer. The facility is very clean and well kept. They had very unique livestock. The reason for my not so raving review is the following:First, They sell high end equipment (specifically Neptune Systems). However not a single salesman knows anything about this product. Multiple times I have called or came into the store and they do not know what product I am talking about and how it works. They then try to explain how it works and they are not correct. I think the guys need some training on the equipment they sell.Second, I have called a few times to ask if they have something in stock and they say they will or they may have it and I say I need it today and they try to pressure me to purchasing it even though it is not in stock yet.Third, and the most frustrating part is I have called to order a part and come in and pick it up only to wait for an hour as they do not have the part they said they would. This has happened twice now.And finally, there return policy is not very good. If a customer buys something that is not right for their aquarium whether or not they were told it was by a salesman you should offer full refund on an item used or not. I purchased something from them and could not return it because I opened the box. I think it should be allowed to be returned maybe with a restocking fee at most.

This my go to fish store. I drive 45 minutes to go there. The employees are helpful and always awesome! They also have a great selection whether you want saltwater or freashwater stuff.

I needed a reverse osmosis system fast so I called, then stopped in and bought one. They were extremely helpful with information on ideas for setting it up. I stopped in a few days later for more supplies. The staff are extremely helpful and I recommend stopping in for your aquarium needs.

These guys are awesome. I’ve purchased two tanks from them in the last couple of months, one for my office and one for my home. Paul has been a wealth of knowledge and really focuses on the health of your ecosystem. He has stopped me from purchasing a few things because he said the tanks weren’t ready yet. It’s refreshing to find someone that really cares about what’s best for the customer instead of just going after the quick buck. I highly recommend Artistic Aquariums.

Name is Brandon from Maricopa and Saltwater tanks was something I have done and failed in the past because how hard it was, after visiting Artistic Aquariums they have made this second go around so simple and easy My family and I are so happy with the great information and knowledge they provided . These guys help around the clock and make sure your tank is done right. Going into the AQ is like hanging out with friends and even if they are closing the are still willing to give you all the info needed to make your experience memorable. Simply a fun place to be .I hope Im spelling her name right but Candice is awesome and I just got the Coral setup that she sold me and the info provided on what they are, how they eat and even down to the place to put them she went beyond customer service so simply thank you .Eric your the best man!

Im from Ohio and just showing my wife the beauty of saltwater fish. Extremely knowledgeable staff. The gentleman whom a spoke with spoke with me explaining some of the new lights and how much easier it is to keep coral today. If I lived here I would definitely buy all my fish and supplies here

Very nice salt water selection, new addition a few months ago for fresh water so all together there is a decent selection. Staff is extremely nice and the place it very clean. My husband is constantly buying fish, food and more from this store. The fish we have purchased have stayed alive and are thriving in our tank now. We always return to this store!

The tanks are quite clean. The saltwater and freshwater fish areas are well-stocked with a large variety of different fish. Sometimes the names on the fish on the labels and what is in the tanks Is not up to date. They do not have isolation tanks right now, which may not be the best for the fish hear sometimes. They might be working on that, however. Sometimes the young workers do not know as much as another fish store we frequent, but they are learning. I appreciate that this place is honest and will not sell incompatible fish to customers. They are much better-educated about their fish than Petsmart or Petco.

I recently acquired a Betta fish from an old coworker, and the little guy needed some help, artistic aquariums was able to answer all the questions in great detail and also help with a few little tips to do with the fish, they all worked and the little guy more lively than Ive ever seen him and his coloration has come through more brightly than ever, this is the go-to for aquarium needs.

Artistic Aquariums is such a great store! Ive been coming here for about a year for all my livestock, fish and coral food and Catalina water, and my tank has never looked so good. The owners and staff are all so friendly and helpful, they have made special orders for me several times in the past and text me when deals or specials are starting. The store has a great selection for the size and all their tanks and livestock are extremely well maintained. They also have very competitive prices on high end dry goods, and frequently match or beat most online retailers. All the success Ive had with my current tank I attribute to finding this store, thank you Artistic Aquariums!
