Was surprised that they were actually open. This is a older Park but was somewhat maintained. It does not represent itself clearly. They also have overnight camping. If you are looking for a place to camp it is very hard to find this place as camping is available. Even though covid- 9 has affected a lot of areas. The park has complied with all the suggested rules keep the park safe. I would visit this park again. I think my visit would have been more enjoyable if we not have this virus. My service dog what is more than welcome.
I had enjoyed my first time at this beach. Bathroom was clean, and so was the park. There was not many people when I went, which I was happy about because of the COVID-19 situation. Admission is only 5.00 per vehicle. Highly recommended if you are wanting to just go and relax in peace. Water was cooler the further I went out.
Went this evening with my dogs. It is great. Trailheads are awesome. Different levels, a beach, water, campgrounds, shelters etc. Definitely will be going back.
What a beautiful, tranquil and lovely place. Ny girlfriend and I decided to make a day of it and hit the beach, hike the trail and enjoyed a wonderful picnic. It was extremely affordable at just $5 for entry. Plenty of bathrooms, covered and uncovered picnic areas and a nice little campground.I cannot recommend this place enough if you need an affordable outing for you and the family. Looking forward to going back
The rules state you cannot hold a campsite for someone who will arrive later. Its a 1st come 1st serve campground. Any unoccupied site is available. I arrived at an unoccupied site and the guy across from me runs over and says his family is coming later to stay at that site I just arrived at. I called a ranger because I know the rules. Ranger shows the high lighted area that says no holding a site for anyone not here. Well a different ranger comes over and states i have to leave after the first ranger says the site was mine and high lighted the rule that states that you cannot hold a site unless you are here in person to occupied the site. I will never camp here again.
Its beautiful and peaceful and a great place to do anything including RV and primitive camping.
A great place to spend with family and friends! Very nice and well kept grounds with lake and beach, paddle boats, putt putt golf paved trails for jogging or strolling, and camp sites for RVs and tents.
Nice clean park. Small lake with a nice beach. Lots of pavilions. Camping available for both tent and trailer.
We love it! Clean and well kept. Nice place to bring your family!
Nice spot to stop and take a walk. Very clean!
Great family spot if you love nature! They do a great job keeping it clean! But always make sure to clean up after yourself thats common courtesy.
Nicest cleanest park I have ever been to. Great beach with plenty of shade back from beach. Lots of area for grills. Bathrooms very clean. Snack bar very affordable
Nice park/beach for local people. Everyone seemed to be social distancing. It was overcast on this day. Will return on forecast calls for all sun.
Great ace to take the kids, they have a bunch of stuff to do and its only $5 a car
Is a very nice park not too big but confortable, friendly, I will definitely come back.
I always came here growing up and I am so excited to take my kids now!! AMAZING hidden gem of Carroll
Its a nice park with friendly Hosts. John Tanner Park fills up with campers and day visitors on summer weekends. We are full time RVrs and have stayed there 4 times now and plan to revisit next time we are in the area.
Nicely kept. $5 entry for all day. Sat on the beach and watched the swimming, paddle boarding.
I love John Tanner Park but the county has taken it over in recent years and charge much more for parking than usual. And your state park pass doesnt work there anymore. Otherwise theres a great biking and walking trail around the lake a good little beach to swim in the hot summer and a great little campground. Its a peaceful shadey park to spend an afternoon or a few days.
Peaceful families were spread out nicely and enjoying their day.
Took the grandkids fishing. We enjoyed the day. The park was clean, the staff as great. The only thing I have to complain about is the fish werent biting.
Great swimming area, clean bathrooms, and plenty of things to do for the whole family.
We love swimming here. $5 per car for all day. The kids have a blast. Paddle boats in season and a snack stand. Lots of picnic tables and grills for use. Also an ice cooler.
Small park with a small lake. Swimming area. Restrooms and motel-style rooms that can be rented. Also RV parking. Daily parking fee is $5. Nice place but limited facilities.
It was an awesome day with my son and future ️ of my life we are even going back tomorrow thanks John Tanner park
Very nice, well kept area, water, concessions, camping and cookout areas. Very pleased with my visit.
Plenty of space and the facilities are clean. Campgrounds are open.
ALL I CAN SAY IS ITS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO GO.
Very laid back and pleasurable scenery.. I loved it.
Wonderful family day out on the lake. Friendly atmosphere
Very clean, nice friendly staff, pretty good fishing in the lower pond.
Great place for family fun and camping mini golf swimming cooking out
Very nice park, family oriented
Its a great place many things to keep someone occupied
Good place. Need a bathroom open. Clean the beach
Great place to spend time with the family. You can grill out, swim, fish, or walk. They have nice boats to rent also. Friendly and helpful staff. My family and I love coming here.
Its a big park with a lot of each area in fishing put put golf in horseshoes volleyball. Camping sites arcana tight.
I really like this park. The cost is 5 dollars for car to get in. ( It is a county Park) there are lots of picnic tables and places to BBQ. 2 lakes in the park for fishing. The upper lake has a beach area and swimming. The park outs out paddle boats in the summer months that you can rent. This is also a campground. Lots of sites and awesome camp hosts. 18 hole putt putt golf. Paved walking trail. The lost goes on. A really nice place to spend a day and get out of the house.
Wonderful time. Packed out but everyone was pleasant...
Went to hayday. It was amazing. Worth the five dollars to park. Lots of walking so be prepared! We have a 1 and 2 year old and they loved it! I dont mind saying me and my husband liked it and I will even shout that my 17 year old liked it! Mom win!! You can tell they worked so hard into it! Everything was detailed and was put together so well. Will definitely be going again next year!
Super cool swimming spot! Family friendly. Paddle boat rentals. Pavilions. Picnic tables.
Great camping and swimming when in season
Good place to camp and swim.. Fishing sucks
Very quiet & low key on the weekdays
Great area for water activities and beach fun with the family.
Loved it clean, friendly park for camping.
Nice place for a walk or chill by the water
It was a great place to take my great nieces to. for a nice cool dip and a place to picnic. and play on the play ground..... some things are what you make of them ..... dont expect others to make your outing for you.
We have our family reunion here every year. Its very clean and so nice. They have paddle canoes, put put and beautiful picnic areas. They have a place for young kids to play
I love it.. good customer service
No bad experience, had a good time.
My family and I had a great day out on John Tanner beach.... Thank you for providing this place to our community.....
Great place to chill out & get wet !!!
Love going here whether with the kids or just with the hubby and some friends. Putt putt golf, paddle boats, and the beach. Love coming in the evenings during the summer letting the kids swim throwing some dogs on the grill and making it a nice weekday funday. With a park pass doesn’t cost anything to come as much as you want and let the kids play. Just wish there was more In The was of a snack bar.
Grandkids love it here, and the staff is always happy to help.. very cheap for all that is offered. Their favorite part is the paddle boats. My only complaint.. the bathrooms. Other than that.. always a great experience.
Wonderful park/beach. Great place for families!
Really enjoyed the day, for $5 you cant beat the experience. Beach wasnt crowded, my child loved the park . They had paddle boats that we might try next time. Great discovery definitely will have to try again
No mosquitos, not 1!! I loved the way the lake was roped off for swimmers. More parking would be nice. Bathroom checks need to be done on a more routine basis.
Great place great people
Great place to camp
Great park to hike around and water is nice. Watch out for snakes on the water.
Great place to have fun on the outside
I wished that they would restore the putt putt course. We have had our family reunion for over 45 years there. It was very accommodating for our family. Thanks for good memories.
Only 5 bucks to park your car. Theres a sandy beach where folks can swim and 2 lakes to boat or fish. Not a bad place but it could use a little TLC.
A great place to spend time with family. Nice pavilions and a lovely trail to walk around the lake make this a great place to have a family reunion or birthday party.
Great lake camp fire memories with friends
Very nice get away
Me and my family have been coming to Tanner Beach for years. Even though it had rained a couple time, we still have fun and didnt t want to go. Thanks for helping us have a really fun time
Pretty and well taken care of, my friend will be getting married there in a few days, looking forward to it!
Wonderful, friendly environment. Flash your military identification to get in free. Nice swimming area and a pet friendly park.
Its always clean. And the inmates and the guys doing community service do everything they can to help. During the summer me and my grandkids spend the whole time at Tanner Beach. Great place for families to go and enjoy their selfs.
A well-maintained, well cared for Park. Made me feel nostalgic, reminded me of when my parents would take me to state parks when I was a kid.
GREAT Place to get away for with the Grandson!
Enjoyed the quiet time clean area
Family Reunion and we all had a great time!
Very neat and clean. Employees are pleasant and helpful. Glad to see it’s just as I remember it from my Carrollton High School days1957-1961.

It was a great park for large family gathering! Good time had by all, from 2 to 72!
I love going swimming here. Its great for get togethers
Theres a little fishing, a little barbecuing and a little swimming.. Its a fun spot if you bring the family!
Had a great time. Wish they had sewer and grey water hookups. The kids had a great time fishing, riding paddle boats and meeting all the other kids. Will definately be back.
