Great beach ️ for a stroll along the sea or complete immersion! There is a boardwalk in addition to the walkable beach! A few miles south is the seal beach, with an impressive cliffside walk.

My boyfriend and I discovered this great beach while we were on our weekend get away. The place is clean, the boardwalk is a great place to walk that circles around & then we continued walking on the beach . There are covered picnic benches. Youll get to watch people playing volleyball or soccer. Such a great place to keep coming back to which is what I did. I brought two if my friends and they love the place too.

We love camping at Carpinteria State Beach. We have camped there for over 10 years. Its right on the water and some of the spots actually back the sand. Theres a huge grass area there which is so much fun for the kids to play in. The park has become run down over the years. Which is a shame because it really is a beautiful place to Camp. The spots with electricity are pretty close together so we always do the dry camping so we can have a little more Elbow Room. Everything is within walking distance so you can purchase all your groceries and supplies while youre there. We love the town of Carpinteria!

This place has a great vibe and pet friendly. We got the artichoke, pork tenderloin, and sausage trio. The artichoke seasoning was very good, but the heart of artichoke itself was very fibrous, which we just abandoned the dish. The tenderloin, mashed potato, and sausages were good and big portioned.

I come to Carpinteria State Beach every other weekend from LA because its less crowded, clean, beautiful, and the water conditions are the best. If youve never visited Carpinteria before, I would highly advise it! They have a park by the beach for kids to enjoy, their State Beach Camping grounds, restaurants, breweries, gift shops, and is 15 minutes away from Santa Barbara.

First time here, loved this State beach. We walked the whole beach, was lucky to see some whales out in the water, a seal came by and the sunset priceless. Was interesting to see the tar pits dripping onto the beach and seeping up from the ground on the beach floor. Was not crowded, enjoyed watching the local surfers surf.

Absolutely beautiful, no oil on my feet, water delightful, sunny and pleasant. Built drop sand castle with my son and grandchildren. Got them both in the water ages 2 & 4(one at a time). Took tumbles with them both and they came up smiling ( Whew!). Then over to Padaros Grill for dinner on their picnic tables. Beautiful day!

Grew up coming to this beach. Waves are generally smaller and the current is not as rough as others, which makes it a great spot for families. If you walk onto the beach at Sandyland & Ash, and stay to the right, leashed dogs are allowed on the beach. I love to take my dog here and go for a morning walk. If its warm enough, I love being able to get in the water with my dog. Beach can get crowded during the summer, especially when the temps are high in Los Angeles county.

Beautiful beach and hiking, with great sunsets and seals! We had a small camper van and paid to stay overnight. Not too crowded but, Santa Barbara County Sheriffs a little too critical with rules about being on the beach when people just trying to enjoy themselves and not drinking or doing drugs. They should just let people be and worry about people who are being disruptive or breaking the law.

Always the most wonderful vacation spot. Its a little town nestled in the hustle and bustle of Santa Barbara. The beach is beautiful and safe, the campgrounds are budget friendly and well maintained. You can frequently spot seals and even dolphins in the summer months. The waves are perfect for boogie boarding, and even surfing. Just a laid back sweet getaway spot. I go annually, and have never been disappointed.

Talk about camping on the Beach.... close to it at this place. Reservations are crazy. Options for a stay are great. Tent only, trailers with no hook ups, trailers with hookups and tent. Open restrooms with quarter operated showers with hot water. Sites are next to each other. Picnic tables and fire pits are there at each site. An occasional train will roll through but cant say it was a spoiler. Dog friendly and nature trails for strolling, walking or riding. There is the occasional spot of tar from the nearby tar pit but only seen on shore. Very nice and relaxing. Beautiful.

The worst place to camp in the entire state park system. The camp ground spaces are almost directly on to of each other with no real space. Zero natural plants or grasses. The campers seemed to be comprised primarily of people who went there for the sole purpose of drinking, with several very intoxicated men by noon. The beach itself is really nice, but it is easily accessible from street parking or day use. No reason to camp here.

Amazing place. 3 stars because I Had a very bad experience with the parking lot police. $10 to park in lot. There are 15 min parking spots near the entrance. But outside of the actual parking lot. For 5 days straight i pulled up to the booth and said, just going to the 15 spot and always was let thru so i could pick up my family. I parked for no more than 2 mins loaded up fam. On day six i was told by barney fife that i need to pay $10 to use the 15 min pickup spot!! So i said why r u changing the rules and he said that the other people that let me do this were trainees. Even though my gramma has been doing this for 3 years. So i just did it anyways without paying then barney got mad at me. So of course i sat and watched everybody else continue to use the 15 spots for free for the rest of the weekend.
