Arrived about 0700 on a weekend & not crowded at all. Several connecting trails around the lake area & to the Volcano hilltop. Some steep areas up top & also sharp edge drops on trails so be careful. Nice view from top. Overall, you can have a nice hike here.

It very nice here. It a good quick get away from your home for a jog or just to hear nature sound. Can’t never get bore because you see something different every time you here. You can also hike to the top of the mountain or hike around the mountain.

Kinda cool pondering about the changes in our worlds landscape while taking in the terrain along with the gentle,cool breeze. A plugged volcano making it accessible for me to enjoy! A blessing indeed!

Nice trail to hike. Kids and pets friendly. There are different trails to take to the top of the mountain depending on your fitness level.

This is a great trail for all types of people. If you like a hard hike then you can go straight up the mountain if you like a mild hike and then you can go around the mountain either way the scenery is gorgeous and theres always lots of nice people to say hi to.

Beautiful place. A little bit crowded. We got there at 8am and it was already hot. Lots of trails. Just did the 2mi lake loop and finished by 9am. Will come back when weather is better.

Great place to hike! The hike up to the top isn’t hard. One part is quite steep. The trails are maintained except there’s dog poop everywhere. People seriously need to pick up after their dog. Also they allow mountain bikers on the trail, some parts aren’t that wide so you have to move over or get run over by them. Plenty of parking and can enter from various entrances and trails.

My first time going. It was hard hiking up the hill. Once youre tired of walking thats when the steep hill starts. It was torture. Hard for little kids and older people. They say theres other paths you could take, but the one I went on was hard. It took like 50 minutes to go all around. It wasnt as bad because it was a cloudy day. If you can take hiking sticks and hiking boots. The scenery was very nice once you got up on the hill.

No other place Id rather hike. There are so many different trails to discover that range from easy to difficult. Each trail is beautiful for.mind and body.You get a great view of the volcano plug at the base including a rock labyrinth path and an even better view on top.

The hike nearly took my breath away because it was steep...but once I reached the top......it took my breath away!!! Beautiful

I fell in love with the hiking trail.. Its a bit challenging, but rewarding.. I definitely recommend this place.

Great walk around the lake an easy 2 miles to do with the kids.

This is a great set of trails for beginner or intermediate hikers/walkers. The nearby middle school and high school have their track and field runners take the paths and there is regular foot traffic so you usually feel safe yet still kind of secluded. Its a nice slightly challenging walk for inexperienced hikers and also has a more challenging hike up the hill that isnt too strenuous for more experienced people.

First time and we really enjoyed it just dont forget sun block and water! Have fun everyone!!

Nice place to hike. Bigger than what I expected. Lots of different trails. Check out the kiosk in the center of the trail. Little know facts..Have fun and safe trails.

Good hike but overgrown trails.. difficult level hike

I run this trail on the weekends and I love it. You can see the ocean from the very top. If you decide to hike up on the north side its difficult, but the south side is easy. Watch out for mountain bikers. No horses are allowed here. Also if you go early there are coyotes around. Do not go after dark.

It has great trails and lots of them. It has good gradations so you can get your heart pumping and when you make it to the top of the Volcano you can see all the way to the ocean.

Good hike for casual hikers.

Enjoyed the lake trail and climb up the volcanic hill. Only thing negative is the broken glass accumulating at the peak.

I love this place. You can bike, hike or go for a run here and take an easy or moderate trail as well as pick your distance. You can also take a stroller - a running stroller. The main trail we took had hard sand/dirt so the stroller didnt sink. You jog/run some/all of it with a stroller but be careful with some of the dips- however makes for a fun ride for the kids. Depending on your kids age, mine did walk half of it with me and enjoyed that as well. There are some picnic tables as you walk along the path, but they dont have a shade (at least the ones we saw)- but nice view. Parking was also easy to find, and free! And there is a clean bathroom located at the beginning of the trails. There is also a paved trail, but went opposite the lake so I am not sure whats on it. We wanted to stay by the lake. Have a great time if you go and bring fluid and snacks to stay hydrated.

I havent been to this place in a while and it sure has changed a lot the water level of the lake used to be a lot higher seems to have dried out a lot but its still fun to go hiking on the trails.

You can get lost a little bit but its a nice trail with a gorgeous view the whole walk of a beautiful lake. I live about 20 minutes away and my wife and I come here often because its worth it, we enjoy it very much.
