Great little hiking preserve, also a fishing pond... 5 parking spots + 1 handicapped parking spot... Not a trail for wheelchairs... Not one trash can on the preserve so please be prepared to carry out you trash & help by picking up a few pieces the careless have left behind... County or whoever manages this preserve really needs to send out a couple folks to clean up around the preserve, primarily around the fence that surrounds it... The trail is about 20% under water so where boots or be prepared to get your feet wet... Wildlife was few & far between, still a nice hike...
Trail was overgrown with long grass. Mosquitos were everywhere. Unenjoyable.
This was a spur of the moment visit and I did not know what to expect. My boys and I were not adequately prepared for a trail walk. So the trails were surprisingly overgrown and no benches available to enjoy the scenery or just be one with Nature. Its a great location for specifically walking the trails, throwing rock and sticks into the pond, and seeing wildlife. Just be prepared to sit on the ground or bring your own blanket or foldable chair to enjoy time in Nature.
This is a nice place to walk for anyone comfortable with slightly uneven terrain and some soft sand. The trails are well marked and usually mowed. Along the green trail, the longest trail in the preserve, the path is mostly grass covered sandy soil for the first mile and then turns to soft sand for almost a mile. At the trailhead is parking for six cars but I have never seen it full. One of the six spots is a handicap space even though the trails are not handicap friendly. No pets are allowed in the preserve. This is a great place for quiet walks with next to no traffic right in the heart of northeast Cape Coral.
Well manacured and very large area to walk around. Many trails and a fishing pond. Just remember which trails you took to get back. :)
Nice walk thru marked trails, lots of wildlife and nature.
They didnt make me wear a mask because I have asthma
Awesome hiking trail.
Why would I visit a place called Yellow Fever ?
Nice relaxing walk round on good paths. Not much wildlife seen but plenty of tracks and scatt
Small “nature preserve” saved from Lee County over-development. Poor parking, no facilities, and close to excessive road noise from Del Prado Blvd.Fortunately it has an undeveloped trail system and lots of low lying, water-filled areas that keeps most people out. The tougher hike is actually nice. The preserve provides some respite for wildlife and you’ll come across armadillo & coons. But in the end this is just a few acres surrounded by southwest Florida suburbia.
Boring, no scenery
The seasonal weather changes are wonderful to see here. Two very different hikes in the dry season and at the end of the rainy season
Nice location to take a casual hike nearby. The only issue was sometimes you had to walk in the loose Sand- as they need to have fire breaks to control/prevent spreading of fires. Some shaded areas. Look at the water areas you may see shore birds. Butterflies, finches and over head wood storks flying. Bring water.
A good short walk or hike with plenty of stuff to see and photograph even the rare reptile .
Small parking lot at trail head located at the far southwest corner of the preserve on Del Prado. Sparsely wooded. Plenty of trail for a nice hike or jog.
Pretty nice place to go for a walk, however, this place is NOT handicapped friendly so I’m not sure why they say it is. The trails are dirt or grass, and I can easily foresee a powerchair getting stuck. Haven’t had any luck fishing the lakes and ponds in here, and I’m an avid fisherman. Maybe just bad luck. Excellent for horseback riding, fair warning there are very few benches and places to rest - so be aware of this if you plan to walk deep into the forest. Hike with caution as we have seen a blackbear with cubs twice now, which is great as this is a conservation site, but there is definitely wildlife inside that can and will kill you. We have also spotted a decently sized gator near the “center” swampy area, so be aware of this as well.Overall this is a lovely forest walk and you can’t hear the road once you’re in deep. If you go exploring off trail, you’ll find a primitive survival hut someone has built. I won’t spoil the location. Have fun.
I just moved here to the North Cape from the South cape, Im actually excited that this is near my house. Itll be a great place to walk and hike with the dog
Great place for a hike.
Its a nice long walk in the woods
Beautiful and relatively untouched by people. Very flooded during rainy season and hard to walk trails without being ankle deep in water.
Great place to exercise
Beautiful
Fairly long trail available. Nice scenery
I released a opossum out there tonight. It was very beautiful out there and I think he will be very happy out there
Not much to see. Not very well maintained.
Rustic walking trail. No one else in site or the parking lot...
Trails are rough but clear and open. I went trail running and enjoyed the peace and solitude so close to all the development of Cape Coral. Theres no facilities, only primitive dirt parking lot.
3.5 very tall grass, needs to be cut or weed wacked. Nicely marked trails, though.
One of the loveliest places to break down. My car and I enjoyed a moment here waiting for the tow truck.
Nice place but pretty limited in the activities allowed.
Loved it,very well kept no garbage any where, kids had a great time we will be back again, keep up the great work
I like the trail but it needs to be maintained better. I will definitely be back!
Beautiful and peaceful!!
Very quiet with lots of wildlife. Both in the trees and on the ground. Its a dirt trail so be ready to hike. But well worth it.
What a great place for a nature hike!
Good to walk around in however a recent fire has caused alot of the woodland scenery to disappear
Nice place
Pretty awesome Florida Preserve!
Nice forest, but is no very well prepared for visitors. I could not find a parking lot area.
Nice quiet place to hike.
More trails are being added. Lots of shade, but no facilities.
