Beautiful place. Love the monuments they have also. Its very beautiful and peaceful. No problem parking. Parking is FREE. Very little traffic because its not a through way. Just people coming and going. Very safe place to go for a beautiful walk. Family oriented. Or just a couple going for a little stroll. I highly recommend this place. Its also good for taking beautiful pictures!
Lived in Cape Coral for several years and still love this park. It is lush, tranquil and shaded. The boardwalk gives you exposure to an environment/habitat that would be hard to see otherwise. Beautiful monuments in front for those who need a dose of reflection and show of respect for those who have served.
Nice place to walk for an hour. Shady elevated trail over the marshy areas. Saw a bunch of lizards, a small harmless snake climbing a tree, and multiple birds. The end of the trail has a nice view of the river.
Really well kept boardwalk (my double stroller fitted without problem) that goes through the mangroves. There are a couple of piers that offer a nice view. It didnt feel like a 4mile walk but we had an enjoyable time. You also have several sculptures/ memorial monuments up front. The entrance is free and it has a small visitors center (with bathroom) right at the beginning of the park.
What a beautiful park. It’s a lot of fun to walk out here. There will be spider webs but oh well. This park is great.
My youngest son and I came on a nice breezy day. The breeze from the water felt amazing. I can even recommend it for younger kids. My youngest son is 5 and it wasnt too much walking for him. Then again we do these type of walks all the time. After walking the trails we took pictures of the war memorials. Id recommend this place.
Great place to walk and see the different mangroves and some wildlife. Also, great place to honor war veterans.
This was a cool, little spot to find. Easy to access and parking was a breeze. A great spot to WALK around out of the sun. I say walk, because that is about all you are allowed to do on it. Literally the sign prohibits pretty much everything. No running, no skating, no dogs, no loud noise, no heavy breathing......... Be much cooler if the bureaucracy would loosen up a bit.
Loved it. Walk was so serene and perfect time of year, mid November.
Please leave only footprints and take only photos. This is a preserve and I scooped out 5 plastic bottles and 3 plastic bags out of the mangroves. Very sad, this is not a dump, please be respectful and responsible for your own garbage!Beautiful place to walk, nice boardwalks, well maintained. Signs going along the path telling history of the hurricanes, mangroves, etc. A lot of wildlife to see. A historical place for the Iraq war and monuments for US/military history.
Absolutely very peaceful walk! There are two small piers included in the walk. Ut was clean, easy to drive to and lots of parking.
This is a cool preserve to visit and is a nice hike to go on. The Cove is easy to find and provides plenty be of parking. The trees provide great cover over the boardwalk making the hike a pleasant stroll. I was pleasantly surprised to not see that many people walking the trail. It is definitely a worthwhile trip to see the mangroves.
Very nice nature preserve. Very shady so good visit at any time of the day. As it is very close to the Veteran Pkwy you can hear the cars at this nature preserve. Depending on what time of the day you visit you might spot Crabs, woodpeckers racoons or otters.
Im so excited that the weather is cool enough again, for walking the boardwalk! Its a beautiful, peaceful park and once youre back in the mangroves, you totally forget that youre right in the middle of a busy, hectic city. Its a great place to get away from it all without getting away. The park itself is a wonderful tribute to our Veterans and they even have a little take a book, leave a book station, which is really thoughtful.(It might be hard to tell the actual size of the iguana in the picture, but he was easily 2 1/2 feet long! He just crossed the parking lot right in front of us, so casually. He didnt have a care in the world. What an awesome home for him!)
Very peaceful and beautiful. Shaded by a canopy of trees and mangroves. Beautiful look out areas. Come out by the water. Dont forget to bring water!!! You walk on a boardwalk, but best to use bug spray and sun screen.
I enjoyed the commemorative displays, the trail is OK.
Beautiful and well preserved park. Lots of coconut palms at the entrance. Then a nice elevated walk through the mangroves leading to the river. There are launch points for kayaks and canoes. An asset for future generations and a break to a sprawling urban Cape Coral.
Little over a mile of boardwalk with 2 overlooks out over the water. Also in the parking lot, theres a veterans memorial. Cant forget the people who sacrificed everything, so that I can live the way I want. Very nice memorial and thankyou to all servicemen and women
Great walk and kept up nicely. Plus its free to walk. I didnt kayak but that looks fun too!
Loved this walk..nicely shaded.. ends at beautiful view of the bay. Veterans memorial is great too!
One of our favorite places to go with family great walk and nice scenery.
Nice walk with cute lizards. Bad smell. Good water overlooks to see the bridge.
Since my sister and her husband own a vacation home in Cape Coral, it was great to visit her and take advantage of what nature has to offer in the area. I greatly enjoyed the nature preserve at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve and recommend it to anyone as a delightful place to be close to Floridas natural environment.
Very well maintained boardwalk through white, black, and red mangroves. A bit buggy so bring bug spray for sure. Over all even though it was cloudy and rainy for our walk, it was a very pretty
Needs a bit of updates, only 2miles long. But pretty views with two docks to look out onto the ocean. No swimming
It peaceful and you learn animal and plants and view of water and bridge is nice
Worth going to. Will be back!
Stopped by here on a whim during my vacation. Its a great place if you want to take a relaxing walk through nature and get away for a bit. Got to see some of the wildlife too and it was an overall great experience.
Very nice walk feels like you are in a jungle.
I love nature and seeing the Florida mangrove ecosystem. I went here with my science class and there was so much to see, if you know what youre looking for. White mangroves, Red mangroves aplenty, with black mangroves sprinkled throughout. The boardwalk was clean and the observatory docks that overlook the bay are well maintained. It was serene and picturesque. I cant wait to go back to do some kayaking with my family.
For my first time in the Fort Myers area, this was one experience that will bring me back here again. Beautiful boardwalk directly in the middle of nature.
Nice little walk. Not very challenging, a nice little amble. Saw a few birds and some small fish of the piers.
It is a really nice walk with a couple of mini piers. The museum was very nice and clean. There is also restrooms located near the log in book. Was pleasantly surprised to see the share library as well. The little piers would certainly be a great place to site and read a book.
Came here for a trail run. Love the nature views and monuments dedicated to Vietnam veterans.
Great place to have a quiet walk. We saw a woodpecker and plenty of lizards. The piers make for a great relaxing view after youve walked through the greenery. The map by the main entrance seemed slightly inaccurate (some paths didnt loop where it said they should), but maybe I misread. We went mid-day on a Sunday and saw other people periodically but it never felt crowded.
Wonderful path! Only wish there were more to see. The monuments though are worth the trip!
Has former veteran I am personally touch by this site dedicated to honor our military . And with Ecological background gives the walkway a very peaceful spiritual feeling with passing of love ones and their intimate sacrifice in protecting our way of life ..
Loved the wildlife but next time imma go when its not as hot out
Beautiful quiet preserve on the edge of the craziness called Cape Coral. Nice boardwalk with overlooks, lots to see. Only drawback is the lack of a map, I had no idea if the boardwalk looped around or did I have to double back. Lots of parking, kayak rentals, clean restroom.
Very nice trails, but didnt see a bird or any other kind of natural life.
Came here twice recently, first time was amazing with no bad bugs or anything, second time had quite a bit of noseeums and mosquitos. bug spray is highly recommended!
Very relaxing walk. Nice Views. Free and never crowded . Kayak rentals available as well
Nice short trail. Took about 20-30 minutes. I wouldnt recommend going if it has just finished raining. When it stops raining theres is a horrible smell in some areas of the path.
Peaceful place to walk
A great walk. Easy. The monuments to our countrys soldiers were awesome.
Love this place! Best to go on a cooler day because it can get very hot walking through the mangroves on the boardwalk. Make sure to go to the end of the walk path to the little picnic pavilion at the end and walk under the bridge to check out the sunset.
A small memorial-like plaza by the ecological preserve. Only wish they had more to see or to do.
It was an interesting adventure. Very relaxing.
Nice walking path!
Free, no admission, plenty of parking when we went, bathrooms and picnic tables available, we didn’t see any alligators but it was still a spooky walk if you go in the evening
Nice relaxing place to walk.
Beautiful and quiet place to walk and enjoy the views
Beauty. Resilient. Admirable
Wonderful place for a walk. Kind of closed in with the Mangrove trees but still a nice place for a quick walk.
Beautiful Nature getaway
First visit to this park. It has nice easy trails and nice veterans memorial.
Very beautiful here. I come here once a month. I saw babe raccoon and its mother near by, birds, butter flys, small iguana that should not be there. If you drive by this park when heading over the bridge stop by and check it out. hope they dont deforestation to build more homes down the road. really peaceful here.. close as you can get to smell fresh air in the capecheck out the Facebook page of preserve 4 miles cove group.
Trail path is well maintained. We went around 11am and it was very hot and humid. I recommend an early morning or sunset walk instead. Bring water with you!
Surprisingly great deal on the nacho box.
I love walking back here in the summer. Its has elevated boardwalks and one path leads to a lovely deck overlooking the river. We got kind of lost the first time but managed to find our way back to civilization. The military monuments are worth the trip. Nice restrooms. Who knew this lovely park is right behind the Coralwood Mall. Follow the signs to get there. Its a little tricky because you drive through a residential neighborhood then take an unexpected left turn through the gate.
Beautiful scenery and a great way to spend the morning. The park could use a map viewable by visitors as the trail often splits in 2 which confused us at times. We walked down every trail anyways and enjoyed the piers that overlooked the bay and city.
Great hike awesome views
Its very peaceful; a quiet place to enjoy nature. There are clear paths to walk on and a couple of docks to view the river. Wildlife is present, but you have to look closely to find it.
A great place to work out to a nice walk 4 miles great scenery
Very peaceful. Very nice veterans memorial. Kayaking also available!!
Great evening fishing! Great park! Nice tribute to veterans.
Nice eco park. Nice trails, totally accessible to wheelchairs. The trail is pretty long, took about an hour to walk all of it.
You will enjoy this experience
Only visited the monuments. Nicely done. Well maintained. Next time Ill do the eco walk when it is a bit earlier. Closes at six pm.
Beautiful place to be.
Lovely boardwalk thru the mangroves. Quiet and peaceful with a good chance to see birds and other wildlife. Probably not fun to do in the summertime as it is prime mosquito habitat but excellent when the temps are lower.
Love the boardwalk here! Was a very peaceful setting. We saw otters! It was amazing!
Beautiful place to observe nature and a nice walk.
This is a fun little walk just off the path. It leads you to the river through a tree lined forest full of ferns, little lizards and birds. If you need a little peace, this is a good place to go.
Nice for a quick walk, but didnt saw that many animals
Saw my first manatee!
It was an exciting walk around the preserve.walking out on the two piers. I believe that they took one of the walking routes out but left it on the map though, it was suppose to circle around by the lost pond but now it deadends thereoverall it was a nice nature walk and would do it again.
Beautiful area.
I love being outdoors, but it can be next to impossible in Florida summers! This is my go to place when I need my outdoor fix and also need to stay out of the sun. THIS is where I can have my cake and eat it too. There is enough thick coverage to hide the sun, and the wood walkway is comfortable walking. It provides a nice overlook of some ponds and streams for critter watching and I never feel in a hurry to get anywhere and leave. Its a place to forget time for awhile, and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Cape Coral traffic. It sure doesnt hurt that its also free, and kayak rentals are also available.
Very hot days in Florida but this is a place you can take the kids for a bout a mile walk under-covered shade trees. Better under those. It appears to Linked to the caloosahatchee or lagoons in the Gulf... As side Paths go right onto those estuary areas.
Be prepared to get your steps in, but watch out for spider webs! Love going on this walk.

Beautiful walking trail. Easy parking. Serene.
Nice memorial for veterans and very much a nature place with trails. Can also rent kayaks. Restroom on site near the memorial.
Quite place to go for a walk and get out of the sun... Can even fish off the pier..
Enjoy the walk. Just when you thought nature was far away!
Great place to walk..98% of it is covered by trees, no direct sunlight
Nice preserve with boardwalk. Good view of the Caloosahatchee River on the pier.
Took the family for a walk and was very quiet and perfect weather conditions
A winding boardwalk through mangrove habitat.
Very nice break away from the busier tourist spots. Great place for an easy walk with great views. Of course, no charge which was a welcome change. Length of trail was relatively long, but very easy and relaxing. Tons of local vegetation which was interesting considering we are from the north.
Great place for a walk.
Very nice. Watch the boards though. We slipped, one friend fell.
Very nice preserve to walk an hour through mangroves. Unfortunately we did not see any bigger animal but hey, thats nature not a zoo. The parking is free so you do not have to pay for parking or visiting. Give it a try!
