Ideal vacation, especially during this pandemic. Trawlers are clean and very well maintained. Marina facilities are very nice and the staff are both informative and polite. Even for the experienced captain, I recommend hiring a captain for at least one day. Capt. Chris answered every question we had and provided the local knowledge necessary for an enjoyable trip.I have chartered boats for short vacations numerous times on the east coast....but Southwest Florida Yachts has definitely been our best experience

We have chartered from many places, SWF Yachts has the best service of any charter company we have used. The first boat we were on had a rudder issue, SWF came out to our anchor spot to diagnose the problem and got us on a new boat the same day. Their mechanics were very friendly and did not make us feel dumb about anything. All boats have mechanical problems from time to time, its how well SWF deals with them that makes them the best. Our family had a great vacation and we feel a little bit more salty with this adventure in our log book. The kids loved running around on the big cat and the beaches in the area are top notch. Make sure you check out Cabbage Key for a cheeseburger in paradise.Pro tip: get the towing insurance, there are many sandbars in this area. Without insurance it costs $1200 for a tow boat to pull you off a bar.

We have been boaters for the past 20 years but have been without for the past 2 years. We considered purchasing another but explored chartering with SWF. It was the best decision we could have made. The boat Salty Peanut is perfect for a family of 4. It was in great condition and provided excellent seaworthiness, space and economy with a great layout. The protected prop and dual thrusters provide confidence in manuerving in tight spaces. The included dighy was great for exploring and fishing the mangroves. Will I charter again? Absolutely, maybe later this year. Without a doubt this is the best alternative to owning your own vessel.Thank you Southwest Florida Yachts.

The only bareboat charterer in this area. They have sailboats, catamarans and some decent sized motor yachts up to 60ft. Pricing is very competitive compared to other places worldwide. Also offer charters with captain including day cruises. The area is beautiful, safe, easy to navigate (no blue water necessarily) and offers so many places and marinas to anchor or dock overnight. Lots of waterfront restaurants. Absolutely recommended!

Renting from SW Florida Yachts was a great experience! We bareboat chartered a 40 trawler for 5 days and wish we could have done much more! Barb and the staff were very helpful and the boat was in excellent condition. A great vacation we look forward to doing again.

We have been customers of Southwest Florida Yachts for several years. They gave us the opportunity to fall in love with bareboat chartering and now its become family tradition. This area is so nice, and safe, and picturesque. If you have even modest boating experience, you wont regret booking a week on the water in your own charter boat!

I cannot recommend southwest Florida yachts at all and will never charter from them again. I charted a bare boat in July and it started out well, I got a catalina 36, took captain Ralf out for a day, pleasant knowledgeable guy and he was satisfied with my boat handling (first time on a bigger boat for me), the second day trouble started, the head started backing up, the windlass did not work right, the dingy davits where lose, the lines for the dingy frayed and nearly unusable, next day I wanted to take the dingy out for a spin w my kids and my 80old father, the dingy was deflated, the pump was not on board and the outboard engine was frozen on the railing. (Mark the mechanic was supposed to take it on the water and check it, which he obviously didn’t) It took the captain 1h to get the outboard to run, I took it out only to discover 1 mile out, that the dead man switch had a false contact and we had to row back in. I made the problems noticed (nice and pleasant, things can happen), they promised me an upgrade and gave me an island Packard 37 (new to their fleet) (I looked it up on the site and if I get an upgrade I expect the next class up and not the same charter fee), I got some instructions (their captain was only a power boater, no instruction on sail and rigging), I took the boat out and nearly crashed since the power lever at one point would not pick up gear (moving it had no effect, the captain saw and heard the incident, he called the owner and the owner said something, to effect of “you need to know” it and also, that his own wife does not trust the boat), once out the second day the furling jib got jammed, the main did not deploy (ok, I did not know, that some people take the halyard of the sheet and secure it (ok, my first time, but getting instruction from a power boat captain did not help). At that point with my small kids and my 80y old parents I had it and the only “discount” I got was, that the owner released me from the contract 1 day earlier, I got nothing for the time wasted with their faulty equipment. En plus the lady owner was condescending and outright rude, walking off in the middle of a discussion. Maybe in highs season its better, but this was very disappointing.
