Great, except area closed for viewing due to Covid. Had to move on....
It wasnt rocket view park I was at.It was brevard county sheriffs dept parking lot ...dealing with drama. .nice launch though.
Awesome views of nasa during the day but no night time visits. Theres no parking between 9pm and 6am. Also watch for alligators.
This is an amazing spot! - especially since its free. You can see a launch at elevation zero with no obstructions. I went for a night launch and I could see the moment the engines ignited. Google maps says the view point is 12 miles in a straight line from launch complex 41. Distance will vary slightly depending on which site is being used for the launch you wish to observe.I arrived 1.5 hrs ahead of scheduled launch time and the parking was about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Parking was assisted by police who then directed traffic on the way out. Plenty of room to sit on bleachers or bring a blanket or chair and sit on the grass. Plus, you can enjoy the beauty of the Banana River while you wait - I was lucky enough to see two dolphins come within 100 ft of shore.
Was there on a no launch day. Peace and quiet.
Excellent, came to see an Atlas V rocket launch at night, I expected the place to be a parking mess or even closed but at my surprise everything was nicely managed, people/police officers to guide cars into parking in a field around, they set up portables light so no flashlight needed, they even put portable toilets... So it was great.
Amazing views for the Launches, I have done a night launch here of a falcon 9. I would recommend it to anyone.
Great viewing place but would be nice to know when they are doing public viewing here and when you will turned away by someone being alittle rude about no public viewing.
Pretty cool place to watch rocket launches. Unimpeded view of the launch, its not very crowded, and its free. We have year passes to KSC and I actually prefer this place to watch launches from. Youre not penned in like cattle and theres no dumb jumbotron blocking your view of the launch or blinding you.The downside is theres literally nothing else to do here. No food or drinks and only a couple of porta potties. Youll need to bring everything you need with you: chairs, shelter, food, and drink. And watch out for alligators.
Awesome view of NASA launches... free, paved parking, well lit, traffic control... bring your binoculars & see them light it up!
We were escorted over to bleachers by M. P., It was a great view except Id love to get a closer view . Very exciting to see SoaceX shoot satellites up to the sky to orbit in space so Estrella can have better internet service and communication.
This was a fun place to watch the launch, just wish that the lights from the parking lot werent so bright shining towards the actual viewing area
Cool place to smoke a joint
Amazing location. Free to go to and watch. This is my go to spot from now on.
Went today but launch was scrubbed. We arrived 2 hrs before launch and they still had room for parking. There is a ton of room in the bleachers and on the beach. Portable toilets are also available. Bring a cooler and some beach mats. And an umbrella in case of rain.
Was closed for the May 30th SpaceX launch ... no parking, no watching.
Beautiful place to view launches from!It is a little confusing to get to, you’ll see signs for the Air Force base and it will look like you’re not supposed to drive any further, but if you keep going you’ll pull up to someone in a military uniform who will direct you to parking. The only thing keeping this from five stars is the lake of an indoor bathroom with running water.
Ok veiw point. Wasnt crowded. USAF crowd control and free parking. Binocolurs would be good to have.
This was truly an amazing spot to watch the Falcon Heavy take off from on 06/25/19. Parking and bleacher seating was a first come first serve basis. Get there early. We arrived at 1900 for a 2330 scheduled launch. Final launch was actually 0230. A good crowd had amassed. Bug spray, bug spray, bug spray and chairs if you dont plan to use the bleachers. Cooler with food and drink would be good too. Plan to stick it out. It was incredible and worth the 7.5hr wait.
As of May 2019, traffic and parking restrictions have been put in place to lessen the traffic issues at 401 during launches. Latest information has it that they are only allowing parking in one small lot, and once that is full, all others will be turned away. This is still a great location for launch viewing... but be prepared to get there early, and have a backup plan in place in case the lot is already full. Keep an eye on Port Canaveral social media for further updates on availability of this site.
Life time experience... Very nice location to watch rocket launch!
Beautiful place loved it!
Shilohs its a great spot to watch launches and get some good food and drinks at the same time.
I work there at NASA
Great place to watch the SpaceX launches! Army/police officers provide security. Great free parking and lights provided for the night launch. Also portable toilets provided. Great free spot to catch the launch!
Nice place to watch the rocket take off
Is a great place to view launches from Cape Canaveral. Theres plenty of parking with security and lights provided by Cape Canaveral. There are porta potties behind the bleachers so theres no need to worry about restrooms. There lots of space to either sit or stand. Either next to the water, on the grass, or on the bleachers.
Brilliant view of Launch Pad 40 for the SpaceX Falcon launch. USAF Police are really helpful and coordinate parking and site safety. Definitely a great place (and free) to view any launch at any time!
Why have a public viewing area for rocket launch viewing and then cut it off from the public
Best place to see space X launches
Great place to watch a launch. Air Force security police help with parking. There are grandstands and toilets. Lighted at night. Fills up quickly though so come early.
This is absolutely the best place to see the rocket launches! Perfect view, easy parking and they even have port-a-potties that are fairly clean!
One of the best viewing areas thanks to the base and local police for providing pArking and guidance.
Way better than watching from the beach. My familys first launch exp. *****
It is an amazing experience. There has a grass area where youll have a great lounch view.
Great place to view launch
Great place to watch launces and free
Probably the best place to watch launches outside of payed for viewing. Just bring some bug spray and a blanket to sit on
The rockets are awesome, they launch 1 every 3 or 4 weeks
Its always fun and exciting to watch no matter where you view it.
Awesome spot to watch a launch.
Looks like the best viewpoint by far in the area, unfortunately the rocket launch was delayed a day for us.
Awesome spot, launch was unfortunately scrubbed.
Awesome view of the launch. Lots of parking and much room to watch. A lot of bugs though.
Nothing like a good rocket launch - great place to view the launch - arrive early for best spots and plan to stay for a half hour after to allow traffic in the area to clear.
Direct view of the launchpad and launch. Wish it was a little closer but it’s great view.
This is a really great location for viewing launches.they had a small parking lot but you can park alongside the road if that gets full there is a nice open viewing area and even a couple of sets of bleachers.the open area allowed a direct view of the launch sites.
Great place to watch the rocket launches from Cape Canaveral
Great for seeing Falcon Heavy Launches, the Launch is about 13miles away and side boosters landing are about 6 miles away so a really great experience!
Amazing view, the MPs and Vets helping with parking were extemely helpful. It was nice that they had grand stand seating and lighting all around.
Great free spot to view spacexs launch pad 40.
An amazing view with seating.
One of the best places to view launches from
This is rocket country its the best thing your tax money has ever gone towards.
Really cool spot to watch a launch from. Unfortunately Falcon Heavy didnt fly when we went to watch it.
Very nice and free location closed to pad 37 just a bit on the left side.
Always a great view of the Delta IV.
Very cool area set up to watch the launches.
Great view of launches from Kennedy Space Center. Free. There are bleachers to sit. Can get pretty crowded for some of the more popular launches. Able to see the Falcon 9 re-entry burn but cannot see the actual landing. Right next to the water so bring some mosquitoes repellant!#spacex #falcon9 #DM1
Well. It didn’t go. Awesome place though.
Such a good view!
Perfect view in our case on a SpaceX Falcon 9
Always out of sight! Truly a blast. I recommend it.
Best time of my life!! Amazing
Awesome spot
Awesome thing. Its just amazing of what we are capable of. Thanks, Space X
Excellent views of launch
I took my son to see his first rocket launch. This was an historic moment as Humanity takes its first steps towards commercial space flight.
Awesome watching location
Awesome site to watch the launch!!
Just happened to be in Florida and heard about an Atlas 5 rocket launch while taking the bus tour at Kennedy Space center. Didnt know where to go and decided to try here. It was a night launch and there was a man there that explained what was going to happen and what to expect, all I can say is Wow. My wife and daughters, who werent so keen on going, were so glad they came and got to see it.
Perfect location and perfect view.
SpaceX is the future, I got to see it.
Provides an excellent view of launch pads LC-40 and 41. Make sure to come early, gets packed quickly. Recommended for all rocket enthusiasts!
Great place to view a launch from. The AFB staffs the parking area and crosswalks.
Nice location, helpful staff & Police.
A great place to watch a launch! Make sure you get there a bit early so that you are able to park.
They are closed
Excellent place to view SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launch and landing. 13 mi from LaunchPad 39A and 6 mi from Landing Zone 1&2.
This is my favorite spot to view launches from Cape Canaveral if I dont have a pass to the press site or viewing stands at KSC. You can get a good look at SpaceX Landing Zone 1 from here.
Stumbled upon this location while attempting to find a good parking spot to view the launch. It was the best place EVER to see the launch.
Hasnt happened yet. But when it does..... Ill let you know
First time seeing a launch, check it off the bucket list
Best place to see rocket launching
