So beautiful and so close to the city. Nice place to go for a walk
Great place for a quiet stroll
Its a nice place for being right in the middle of a busy urban area ... Near route 2, many office buildings. The restoration of the area with many native plants and trees is great. The board walk provides a view thru a marshy area. I think this area needs funding and support to maintain. It is a worthwhile venture to preserve this area.
For what it is worth, the boardwalks that span here and there on this reservation are what make it an unmatched experience. Right by Alewife Station and along the Fresh Pond banks, many good footpaths and bikeways for any and all to enjoy.
Very well maintained.
Very small but nice all the same
A very nice small forest to visit. Interesting to note: Cambridge/Belmonts storm drains lead to the swamp. Nonetheless, the wildlife and greenery are very beautiful.
Its a great place to spend time!!!Bike or Walker or just relax
Beautiful, serene space surrounded by encroaching development. A place to see untouched Nature up close without traveling far from the city. Numerous bird species take up residence at various times, the pond supports turtles, frogs, fish. Variegated plants, many flowering surround the water space, boardwalks make it all easily accessible. This is one Cambridges best locations, well worth a visit.
This is a great little spot I discovered by accident. Its as wild as a spot can be, surrounded by highways and housing complexes and train tracks, but its open and has room to walk around. I discovered it in October, so there are probably better times of the year to watch birds, but I plan to come back in the spring and see what I can find.
Beautiful scenery, bird sanctuary, pond and small forest. The path way is renovated and I must say beautifully done. At nights I see lots of rabbits wondering about and occasionally deers come out too.
It is not a must go place. But a good place for biking.
This is an impressive experiment to restore habitat as an arrangement to mitigate watershed damage caused by all the feverish real estate speculation there. It is very well done. There is a section that is essentially undeveloped along the Fitchburg Cutoff Bike Path and a vernacular trail will get you into it. You want to look out for a path and opening to your right if you are heading toward Belmont.
There are deer, water fowl and song birds. The trail along the Little Perch R. is no longer being maintained but should be as it affords the best birding opportunities.
She a good wife
The potential here is obvious. Perfect grounds for habitat, but somewhat difficult to navigate. In trying to locate the trails to Perch Pond and Little Pond, we had to wonder through landscaping to get to a trailhead. No clear path leading us there. The best option for access is to stay close to the Little River through what appears to be landscaping associated with nearby office buildings. Nice fountain near the parking area though.
A great place for a walk!
Awesome and magical place. A must!
Saw deer, rabbits, and a halk
Beautiful
Wonderful oasis in urban Cambridge
Come to see deers!
