I went there quickly to pick up some items I had called in advance to put on hold. The customer service was amazing and fast. I wish I had more time to browse, but from what I quickly experienced, it looked like an artists dream store!

I could find what I was looking for. Just ask for something and friendly/helpful staff just leave whatever they were doing and guide you until they make sure you got what you need.

They have everything that Ive ever considered buying including a lot of items that I cant find at local stores like Michaels and Joanns. Everyone was incredibly friendly, safe, and helpful. (Even with my very excitable 5 year old) Thank you guys.

As a art student in his senior year I depend on retail stores, such as Blick, for the things that I would require to pass my classes and earn my degree.So whenI enter one of the stores and approached by an employees asking if they can help me find what I was looking for. Just a simple large white sheet of paper.So imagine my surprise when were interrupted heading to the paper by another customer, who clearly sees, and states, an apology for interrupting him while hes assisting another customer but ask for the location for an item shes searching for. The employees cease is assisting me begin to assist her.After receiving the Blick, second class customer service, treatment, I now how to re-evaluate where I should get my art supplies

Super helpful staff. The website does not list all of the sales, so going in person is necessary to figure that out. The location is great and the store is well-organized, so this is a really pleasant experience. If you sign up for a free Blick Preferred card, you automatically get the best price between the website and the store, so not really a down side as far as I can tell.

Super helpful staff. They sell 3/16 x 1 x 24 basswood strips and easy miter box deluxe. There is a limited stock of balsa wood that should be harvested. They sell Art Resin in store while Michaels is sold online. The location is great for Harvard University students for art.

They had skateboard bases. I almost paid 100 bucks for a painted one but I got to pain one myself. Im so happy.

Very nice store! Filled with all the art supplies you need! It was a very adventurous experience searching for things on my list for my new art class especially because im a beginner artist! It would have been nice to get some help from the customer service rep that walked around an asked EVERYONE ELSE if they needed help with finding anything! I managed to find everything i needed, tho!

Easy to find anything I want also its fun to browse and discover cool stuff I wasnt looking for. Loke a mini ugly sweater kit, and tiny little multicolor pompoms... Super nice, friendly, knowledgable help here, too.

Came in yesterday for the first time at this location to pick up some supplies and Wow, The customer service here is incredible. The moment you have a question they are right there with very informative answers and are very friendly. Also the prices are very reasonable. Thanks again, I look forward to coming back in the future

Pros: Convenient location. Got great help from a staff member when I was looking for clay and some pre-assembled frames with mattes. Inventory is in good shape and shop is clean and well maintained. No stairs!Cons: Saw a few gaps in inventory, although staff member offered to order items. Little bit less selection and square feet than Artist & Craftsman Supply across the street. If youre particular, I would comparison shop both stores to find just what you want at the best price.

They are pretty nice. I visited store at the busy hour and asked many staffs for help. All of them are patient and helpful. I spent more than a hour there and almost got all I want. Just hope they can add some services like store pick up, so I can stop purchasing extra things:)

Great selection. ok prices. i find the clerks always seem to be annoyed that you exist let alone need to ask them a question or need to check out. i prefer artist and craftsman across the street and really only go here if the other doesnt have what Im looking for. also, their a huge chain so bad for local business.

I visited Blicks and found the service to be exceptionally good. The person who waited on me went out of her way to help find what I was looking for. She was pleasant and extremely helpful.

I had an overall unpleasant experience with Blick.Some staffs are nice while the others are just not caring or condescending. When it comes to oil paints, they do not know anything. Also, Blick do care more about the money they make than the customers.

Theres a wide selection of everything that youd need for art. It offered almost every sketchbook that I was planning to get. You can also buy the colors you need individually, at fair price points. It has numerous brushes, paints, colored pencils, and canvasses. They offer materials for any skill level, and have a lot of different brands to choose from. Everything is organized and easy to find, too.

Im a putterer not an artist. They seem to have everything you want or need for painting, probably full range from beginners to experts. Wood/stone carving, etching too. Ive always found the people there helpful, friendly, welcoming. Probably at 61 I dont fit the typical shopper...I get the impression they cater...at all locations (3 or 4 in the area)...to students. Ive sort of been followed by employees, which is more amusing than insulting. But at least someone is near when I give up on exactly which brand/size/shade of blue I want and can just ask.

I was super excited to stop in and see that spray paint was on sale.The first employee that asked if I needed help was amazing. He talked me through the different types of paints, what colors he had personal experience with, what tips would be best for my project, and let me to pick his brain for bit. He then left me to own devices to pick out the perfect colors.Midway through comparing colors a different employee came over and locked the paint cage while I was still clearly looking....like in motion of putting a can back. I addressed it with her and she just looked at me like I was stupid, took the can out of my hand, put it back in the wrong spot, locked the cage and walked away.I have never experienced such rude customer service as I did from this woman.

Its smaller than the two locations in boston, but still good variety nonetheless. Friendly staff that will help you with anything you need.

Sad getting more generic and only carries main stream supplies every day. But at least its generally well stocked.

An art store that is dedicated to serving artists and student artists needs! They have just about everything depending on your art profession. Prices are outstanding when applying for free for their rewards card. You will always get the discount. College students receive 10% discount on entire purchase every time the reward card is scanned! Overall my go to place for convenience, and staff are always around the store to guide you to the right tools and materials.

There is usually a pretty long wait for check-outs. They also tend to sell out of many items and take really long to restock (for example, Ive never seen Holbein watercolor in Opera in stock). Its convenient enough but Id definitely check online first to see if you can get a better price on their website (they claim they always match their website price if youre a member, but it doesnt really work out that way because they also count shipping fees, etc.)

After traveling from one store to another, the 2nd store said, can not use coupon on these, 72 set sketch copic madkers. 1st stpre should have been aware of this.

Very handy place to have right in Central Square. Although with a number of items it may not matter whether you stop in here or go to the more personable art supply store on the other side of the street, Block has some fantastic ongoing special offers on staple items. Their paintbrush deals for multiple purchases -- even professional grade -- are too good to not take advantage of, for example, and I no longer purchase mine online. Staff has also always been friendly and willing to help.

I was in here yesterday. The salespeople were exceptionally nice yesterday. Today I decided to go back to get something I needed. It was on sale 67% off. Great! I brought it up to the counter said hello to the cashier but the cashier was not talking to me today.A different person. He looked at me and decided I was stealing it.Talked to two other people about the huge orange 67% off sticker on it. The manager came by and she rang me up. I said jokingly Im not stealing it and it has a huge orange 67% sticker on it. She was not having it. Paid for it and said loudly Im calling corporate on you guys. Dick Blick is much nicer on the phone. She apologized profusely for the way I was treated. Now corporate will have a nice little eeny teeny little chat with them! Btw--the cashier was having a fit over a buck fifty.A buck fifty guys and Im called a thief! Everyone reading this go to the artist supply store across the street. Both the quality of their merchandise and the quality of their sales people is better than anything Dick Blick has.May Dick Blick go out of business permanently.All it takes is being kind to your customers. And I have never stolen anything in my life. You lost a good customer today.I demand an apology from you for defacing my character! And yesterday my review gave you 5 stars too. My wife is an artist, and I sometimes do artsy, game-related stuff. This was a fun stop for both of us.

Great pricing and huge selection! I went in for specific colors of the markers I use for my art. They had everything I was looking for and more. My only suggestion is to have a variety of paper types to try the media on. I use Bristol primarily in my art and dont always have a sketchbook on me. I would have liked to see how each color looked on it prior to purchase, but that is my only complaint.

Every once in awhile I like to go into a brick and mortar Art store and when I am in cambridge, this is my Choice. Parking can be challenging so try to go earlier in the day or go on Sunday when there is no charge for parking in the city lots.

It hard to find stuff and/or inventory run low for some items n prices run high which is,disappointing because Blicks is known for their low affordable prices; a huge benefit for art students and starving artist. Not easy to recognize the low staff to ask questions for where stuff is either. The only good...its a physical store with art supplies in area hard to find art supplies but location should NOT contribute to elevate price mark or poor layout making it hard to find stuff...just sayin.

Really helpful people. I went to get spray paint and I was able to get just the right colors. I had a couple coupons and the price of all my supplies was 1/2 as much as I thought it would be.

Only issue was parking-so much construction in the area

HUGE store, with plenty of supplies. Its not too crowded either so you can find what you want pretty easily. But my god, the staff seemed liked they were being forced to work there under slave like conditions & had no choice but to respond to us. I felt bad for even asking for help because he seemed so sad
