Awesome trail run to the end of the trail. Great views of Burbank, LA, the Hollywood Hills, Catalina Island and the eastern burbs. Quite a bit of traffic even early in the day, so good to get going at the crack of dawn, also to avoid the heat.
Its amazing place to hike get a great exercise and many trails. Wildlife views.
I wasnt planning to go hiking at all, but saw a trail and decided to walk and see what scenic views I might stumble on. It takes a couple hours to walk, and some of it is a bit steep, but some of the views are just outstanding.I am not from California, so being able to see out over the city was delightful. If you are in decent shape, its well worth the walk...
Multiple trails, ample parking, stellar views (if its not too smoggy). we got to see a fairly clear view of downtown LA which was neat! certain trails are shadier than others depending on the time of day. thankful to be able to exercise and get some fresh air during the covid crisis. (parking lot IS open currently!)
Great place for a work out. Some parts of the hike get a bit challenging but nothing that you cant overcome. Its best if you arrive early in the morning to get a good parking spot. Other than great views and close to nature.
I love this trail. Be careful when going down tho
Absolutely great place for a hike just got to make sure you arrive early if youre hiking on a hard day also make sure you have trail running or hiking boots because this is considered a difficult terrain and very steep
Nice area to hike. Easy parking and not too difficult terrain. Views are amazing.
Good trail, good challenge for those looking to get into hiking. Nice and close, easy to access. Can be tricky in the morning before the gates are opened, though. The main downside is that many people dont pick up their dogs poop or their own trash. Thats not the fault of the trail or the city, but of the hikers. If this trail is to stay good, we need to take care of it.
Amazing view!!. Pretty steep. overall I loved it!!
Ah good hiking trail. Has a relatively short loop that is pretty steep if you want a good workout in a shorter amount of time. Longer routes are available as well.
Good trails if you are looking to get in some cardio. There are multiple paths to take, so find the one that works for you. I am not in great physical shape, so I found it very challenging, but not impossible. Four pieces of advice:1) You should not go when the sun will be at its highest. Unless you like melting.2) Wear shoes with some traction. Unless you want to slip right off the side into the abyss.3) Put on sunscreen.4) Put on more sunscreen.Bonus 5th piece of advice) Bring sunscreen with you and put it on again after a hour and a half. Unless you want to burn to a crisp and/or develop skin cancer.
Challenging hike and nice views of surrounding cities
Love this hiking spot! Really close to Burbank and easy and quick to get to from central/east LA. There are about 4 spots along the trail you can park/start from and then hike along a ridge. The views are great from anywhere on the trail and there’s a particularly good viewpoint towards the front of the ridge. Be careful though, the hike up to the ridge is very steep.
My favorite local hike. Much prefer it to Runyon based on the simple fact there’s way less people and a more difficult hike, in my opinion.
Crowded, there are better ways up the mountain, good for a workout as the vert is steep
Great hike! Watch for rattlesnakes on road after dark when hot!
Definitely harder that I thought. Or maybe it was the lack of exercise during quarantine. Regardless, nice hike and great views of Burbank
Pretty easy. Very beautiful hike in the morning we were walking in the fog and it felt like we were in a dream, such a beautiful experience.
Beautiful! Would like a little bit better mapping experience. Super fun for a quick gorgeous hike!
The exercise is always a must nice and easy trail
Beautiful, especially now that Spring is upon us.
Fun hike, but very long. Also, the path isnt very defined, and its very easy to trip and fall.
Great hike wonderful views and great parking
Fantastic place, I love the sunset view here!!
We liked it. A lot of people. Pretty cool
Beautiful hiking! In the morning it feels like walking to the sky
Its a tough trail but good scenery and well worth the hike..
Awesome hike but not for the fat and out of shape lmao. Its short but an intense incline right from the start. Try out the Vital Link trail to double the intensity. It has a great view at the top!
Not to crowded. easy to park
Beautiful views! Pick your hike length with various shortcut trails back to the entrance. A longer ridgeline trail connects to the area to the north. Lots of elevation gain for a good workout!
Really nice and beautiful hiking trail. Whole trail takes about hour.
Tremendously challenging. Beautifully shaded park.
This is a trail with a high level of difficulty, but definitely worth the challenge
Great place to hike and see the beauty of Gods creation. Wonderful views!
One of Burbanks bestest gifts. Safe, clean, CLEAN bathrooms, peaceful. Please do NOT leave your trash. Picnic tables and on the trails. Its so sad to see so much trash around when there are trash cans every 50 feet! Please. We always fill up bags of trash when we go. So sad.
Challenging hike
Ive always liked this little quiet park because Its near the city but you cannot hear the city. Being in a canyon gives it a nice sense of solitude even though vehicles drive up and down often enough. The BPD firing range is accessible thru this park so you know youre never alone. Beware of rattlers on the trails. Ive seen deer wander thru on occasion. The flies are annoying. The hillside is still charred from the last fire we had here in 2017 but the picnic grass is green.
Great place for a hike. Well maintained trails and maps at the entrances. Bring a notebook to leave behind. When you reach the area with two old metal benches, look underneath one for a mailbox. Write a note, date it, and leave it behind (crayons are there). Youll have occasional shade. Youll experience some inclines along this ~2 mile loop.
Its awesome good turain but people leave their dogs poop everywhere
This is a great place to go if you want a strenuous cardio hike. Dont expect a nice walk through the woods. It is very steep, with little shade. That is not why Im giving the low rating. It is a great hike for what it is. Im giving it three stars because the City of Burbank is not maintaining it well. The porta potties are dirty and full of graffiti, the hand wash station is gone, and all of the signage is badly faded. With this great economy, I dont understand why Burbank has left this place fall into disrepair.
Exciting hike, beautiful views of the city, gorgeous nature, a good workout! Be prepared for the climb and descent!
Great view!
Very challenging, not an easy hike but worth it if you make it to the top
Perfect place for hiking, there are different trails levels from beginners to advanced, must experience to appreciate
Wild wood
Great place to hike. The trails are wide and well maintained
Beautiful vistas of the San Fernando Valley await you on well groomed yet steep trails. Multiple trail entry points let you tailor the distance and view. Plenty of parking along the road in, and multiple Grassy parks for picnics with ample shade.
Very peaceful. Not too busy. A bit challenging in the summer but well worth it!
Over all a good trail. After hiking to the Henry Cook Lookout Point, I was somewhat disappointed by this view. Where at the Henry Cook Lookout Point the view is quite easy to get to, this trail took much longer. That being said, after about an hour of hiking I did get to a good view of the valley, but I wish it had been quicker. Besides that though it was nice- enjoyed the forest feel of the place and had a good hike.
Its a very peaceful and relaxing environment
We were under the impression that it would be a moderate hike. Id say its moderate-hard (just because it can be steep but Im also out of shape). The greenest hike Ive been on in the LA area and the wildflowers were lovely. Went late March.Dogs allowed if on their leash. Id recommend it.
One of the hardest trails in LA. Come to test yourself and improve.
Pretty steep incline but great view
Excelent place
Nice place
Nice Hike, about 1.10 miles up and down
Wish i actually hit the trails but where i was at there the views were simply amazing.
Amazingly
Well lets just say this trail is not easy, it is very steep. Be prepared for a very steep trail. Your legs will burn on the way up and it can be very slippery on the way down- be careful. The view from the top is great. The chair at the top is a great place to rest.
Beautiful, well maintained trailhead. Solid uphill battle after! Beautiful views of the valley.
This is my face spot
Great park
Very rigorous. Not too easy with the step and very narrow paths. Would not recommend for kids and house dogs. Go in the early morning to watch the sun rise and before the heat comes. First time.
Some of the greatest moments of my life have not been here
Great view and good hike
Great trail, didnt end up hiking the whole thing but Im going to one of these days because its a great place to hike.
Love the mountains, the panoramic view. The beautiful nature ️ Ready to hike?
Good place! Plus have parking lot
Nice and calm place.
A true challenging hike with a rewarding view at the end
Peaceful and tranquility in the middle of the city
Honestly one of the best places to hike in Burbank. The trail to the first antenna in view is shorter than the others but is much steeper and more difficult. There are hundreds of awesome picture opportunities.
Great place to hike, offering multiple different routes.
If a steep hike is too much for you, this isnt the place to come for a leisurely Runyon Cyn type of hike. Its such a workout a couple people even got mad at me for bringing them and had to turn back. Be prepared for one of the easiest acess to start and more advanced hikes around. The multi layered Tree art at the entrance is by the amazing Ron Pekar. Good selfie spot. See you there!
Nice hard trail not for novice hikers.
Not a pretty hike but definitely a quiet difficult hike for excercise.
Wonderful place to hike at
Best hike in Burbank and a great place to train those legs and lungs
Great challenge!
Great endurance hike
Great trail~~
Its a good work out. Especially if you actually reach one of the radio towers.
Good short but steep hike with an excellent location and view(when its not smoggy).
Regular hiking spot for friends, me. Easily accessible, trails varying levels of difficulty, length. If youre a hiker check it out. If not, try nearby Stough Cyn Park, easier trails.
Basically, there are 4 trailheads and 3 loops (see picture of map). The 1st trailhead is probably the steepest, the 2nd trailhead is less steep (and short), and the 4th trailhead is pretty mild. I didnt try the 3rd trailhead. The whole big loop should take roughly 2 hours. I like that you can size the hike to your liking. Also major bonus is that there is plenty of parking near each trailhead.
Park closed, Nature open. Blue Green bliss
So nice
Uh, its super hard. If youre weak, dont do vital trail.
One of my favorites hiking places!
Intermediate hike, wear good shoes or no shoes...
Fun and a little scary, went with my dad, my aunt and her dog. Pretty cool
Challenging short or long hikes, great views of the city, decent facilities, fantastic place to work out
Awesome spot to enjoy nature. Take a hike!
Really pretty and tranquil. Easy walk to First waterfall.
