This was a really nice place to fish, caught some good size bass! People also rent canoes and paddle boats, water could be cleaner

Thanks to Frederick Law Olmsted the creator of many city parks, Buffalo has a beautiful sanctuary of grass, flowers trees and water. A great place for a walk to reduce stress, treasure hunt for beauty and get some air.

Lovely views, delicious food and drinks. Only down side was the wait.

Very nice afternoon with my son riding the flamingo paddle boats and walking around. Cool thing to do if you live here and nice spot to visit as a tourist.

Fun place 15 dollars to rent a boat to 30 minutes... The lake also has fish... They allow fishing off the boat come early for close parking

Nothing can beat a summer day in Buffalo. Bring a bike, a hammock, a picnic basket, a fishing pole or nothing. You can walk, jog or ride around the lake, or get a row boat or peddle boat ($15/hr) to drift around the lake.

Beautiful location for taking pictures for any occasion, reading a book, having a picnic or enjoying music and theatre events held there.

Evening walk around this lake is one of best thing Buffalo has.

First, let me start of by saying that the view of this lake is amazing. You can jog or take a walk around it with a friend or even your family. You can also sit down on one of the benches and relax while looking at the water.

Hoyt Lake at Delaware Park offers its visitors a breath taking view. At times, during the summer the water can be stinky. Attractions in and around the area are, The Terrace Restaurant, The Albright Knox Art Museum and Buffalo State College is close by. A garden with a small water fountain is next to The Terrace Restaurant. I see many photographers taking wedding and special event pictures in the area surrounding Hoyt Lake. Summer months you can also see Shakespeare on stage in an open air venue. Paths are great for walking pets and family. Playground for the kids so parents can take a break.

The Terrace at Hoyt Lake, Delaware Park is a beautiful venue for weddings and special occasion gatherings. We enjoyed some of the best appetizers weve ever had! Great service and the night fall views are spectacular! You can enjoy all of this ambience at the public restaurant there, Marcies Casino also.

Very pretty area, not only attractive to tourists, but people local to Buffalo.lots of people I know uses it for exercise, I used to attend drumming circles there, wedding parties go there to have their pictures taken, and I in particular go there to see The Shakespearean plays, or just when I need a time out and have to regroup, it is very soothing to sit by the lake.

Peaceful and serene, I love walking my dog there. And although it is well used I can always seem to find some place where I feel I have it all to myself

I will Never go back to Tonys ranch house. Not only was my meal expensive the all day breakfast was not honored. My potatoes arent done the French toast is disgusting with no cinnamon no vanilla flavor we are very disappointed in the meal quality to have spent 20 dollars. They will never get our business again

I love Hoyt lake, great place to run, bike or just sit down and enjoy the outdoors. It can get alittle crowded at times. You can also rent rowboats and paddle boards.

Hoyt Lake is a pleasant place to visit. I would have given it five stars if it didnt have an expressway right next to it, which diminishes the effect of country-in-the-city that makes Hoyt Lake special. When Buffalo figures out how to move traffic through the area without disturbing the park environment (think Central Park in NYC) Hoyt Lake will be far more attractive. In the meantime, there are other parks, and water spaces in the area without intrusive traffic.

I really enjoy coming here. There are always a lot of groups doing different fun activities. Its also close to the Art Museum, a restaurant, a playground, Shakespeare in the park and the Rose Garden.The parking can be hard depending on the time of day but its still not super far to walk. I love to come to walk and play Pokemon Go, lots of good pokestops. Its beautiful and pretty worth the visit.

One of the more beautiful areas in Buffalo. During the summer months there is no better place to go and see Shakespeare in Delaware Park.

love being here walking, reading, relaxing I truly adore this place. Only problem this year is the water was horribly dirty really, smelly disgusting Im not sure why but that is my only problem with the Lake this year.

Nice scenery .... dog owners just need to remember to always leash your dog. (Because my dog is afraid of them and might attack)

I hate the name Hoyt Lake. Bill Hoyt was not a politician that I ever liked and never will. For years I grew up knowing this Lake as Delaware Lake and thats how I still think of it. I remember years ago when I was going out with Mary Beth one night we walked around Delaware Lake well after Dark. When we got home to her house her father asked what we have been up to and Mary Beth told her father that we had walked around Delaware Lake. His response was you took my daughter where? Marybeth reply to her father so its okay Daddy Johns got a gun. So just keep that in mind.

I grew up here so I always love coming back to look how beautiful it still is!

Great place to walk, run or jog. Nice path, mostly level. Boating should start soon when the boat rental opens. In spring you will find several flowering Japanese Cherry Blossom trees plus several spring flowers. The casino has a restaurant located on the top floor called The Terrace. Museums are located only a short walk from the lake. Albright Knox Art museum and Buffalo and Erie County Historical Museum.
