My daughter had a great birthday party at the Barnes Memorial Nature Center! The staff was very knowledgeable and helped to keep the attention of the children with all of the interesting reptiles, amphibians, and birds.
Unique little learning center, animal sanctuary and bird lookout. Animals include owls, lizards, amphibians, reptiles, and insects. Much learning info and activities. Trails in back are dog on leash friendly and will lead you to sessions woods in Burlington. Should you need a long days activity with the kids. 13 year old Luke is an excellent volunteer greeter/host, very knowledgeable and well spoken. An asset to the center. Yearly family memberships are more than reasonable.
Its a great place for a walk, the trails are clean...
This small museum has a few interesting exhibits, but some were messy or broken. The bird observation is cool and the trails are nice. Unless youre there for a program, dont expect to spend more than 30 minutes. It used to before, but now is $5 for adults and $3 for children. There are a few small animal exhibits, frogs and the like, and taxidermy pieces. Best to go in spring or summer when you can walk the trails, or attend an event.
Incredible nature walks. Had a blast with the kids. Enjoyed Gods creation. They have easy trails and some that are a bit harder.
Very educational. Perfect for school agers. The owner was super friendly and interactive. Nice hiking trails out back.
Nice friendly staff, cool trails for bird watching
Nice little place to see, good vibes
Nice hiking trails. Well kept center
Great place for families to experience nature inside and outside. Live animals, walking trails, gift shop. Hands on activities for kids to explore natural things. See a bear, mountain lion, birds and many other mounts up close. Observe the many flying visitors at the bird watching window and more!
Special program, Fun wWith Frogs . Very informative and interesting, were allowed to touch most of them . Staff and volunteers were very friendly and eager to share their love for these animals.Self-guided nature trails are well blazed and graded to match skill level and time restraints.
They have a great trail system!
The caretaker told us so much! Awesome afternoon. #mustsee
Nice place to take a quick walk.
Very brief 2.5 mile run with my daughter this afternoon. Great trails that were well maintained, they even allowed a bathroom break without charging admission. Barnes nature center is a great learning center and gives kids hands on experience with nature. I believe there are summer activities signups in the spring and beginning of summer.
Beautiful nature center! Simply amazing what they do for rehabbing wildlife
Love it there. Always an asset to the community
We only hiked the trails. They are nice, and get you into some interesting areas. Swampy, hillsides and other nice areas for flowers.
Our Daughter loved it, great displays, friendly lady up front, we will definitely be back.
