This place has some amazing facts...check it out
Just go! My son added the museum to our road trip thinking it may be interesting; the wife and daughter were poised to suffer through another long and boring museum visit. Once we saw the giant clock, everyone was mesmerized. We made sure to be in the big clocks room before it struck the hour.... my 16 year old daughter was giddy running from clock to clock as they chimed! She was intrigued by the different sounds, mechanisms, and personalities evoked by each one. We then returned to other exhibits in the collection and were shocked to see that another hour had passed so we rushed back to the big clocks room. When we finally left, my daughters only disappointment was that to pipe organ clock didnt work. Check this place out, it is definitely worth a visit!
A fascinating time! An amazing collection of timepieces made in America, many made locally in Bristol, Terryville/Plymouth or Waterbury. There are so many beautiful time pieces. Dont miss the grandfather clock room be there at noon and listen to all the different chimes go off at once! If you miss noon, its ok because these beautiful case clocks go off throughout the day. The museum is situated in a Federally styled house that dates to 1801, the Bristol Garden Club maintains a lovely period garden with a sundial. The Victorian Clock Shop a must see too.
It seems odd but this clock museum was a great place to check out. There are 1500+ clocks of all different styles. Ive never seen a few styles before. It was an interesting stop.
Nicely put together and lots of artifacts. It would be better if they had docents or tour guides to talk about the items. There are a few rooms behind the front desk which are really just collections- no information. The displays on the other side of the museum (you have to walk through the git shop to get to) are much better and more impressive.Admission prices are extremely reasonable, staff is nice, and the gift shop is not a ripoff.Private off-street parking.
Time is of the essence! Dont waste a second getting here. You will learn so much about the history of clocks and watches. VERY highly recommended!
Beautiful historic building, meticulous displays, knowledgeable staff, cute gift shop! Reasonable admission, free parking. Dont miss this place!
Fantastic! We had no idea this museum existed until we decided to stay at nearby Bear Creek Campground while passing through the area. It is so fascinating and is an amazing collection which rotates/changes every year. Beverly did a super great job of giving us some history and explaining the museum layout. She also very graciously answered alot of questions. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend.
Wonderful museum, so rich in history! The staff was great! They give a guided tour, with so many interesting facts. You can tell they love their job. The variety of clocks and the history behind them was amazing. The workmanship that used to be done a century again is awe inspiring. Plus the house that the museum is in, is a historical house in itself. A true hidden gem.
Great museum! Amazing to see the history of clocks and all that used to be built right herr in Connecticut.
The clock museum is such a unique place filled with amazing old clocks and lots of interesting artifacts.
Very interesting place!
The two tower clocks that adorn the outside of the building...were not working!
Absolutely fantastic. A must see if you like clocks, Connecticut history, or just industrialial revolution history in general. Strong recommend.
Great place especially for kids. Its really affordable, too, as its $6 per person and kids go free. Nice history lesson about our amazing State, that used to be the capital of watch and clock making!

Great museum and personnel
Interesting part of history.
Decent day trip. The kids were amused for about 20 to 30 minutes. Dont plan to stay longer, you wont need to. :)
Really interesting. You wouldnt expect it.
Great collection of grandfather clocks and watches.
My wife and I really enjoyed the clock museum....
A used-to-be-a-private house, small rooms, looks like its being run by enthusiasts, but overall a nice collection.
The place could use some more funding and renovations. It doesnt take long to get through the thing. Dont try making a day trip out of it!
I have been researching clock and watch making for a book Im writing on Naugatuck Valley industrial history. The essential innovation not only in clock making but in manufacturing procedures occurred in Eli Terrys workshops not far from where the museum is today. The museum has an astounding collection of clocks and watches of all kinds. They are excellently displayed and someone interested in the subject could easily spend several hours (or days) exploring and reading. While we were visiting, the clockmaker who maintains the collection came through and was so happy asnwering all of our many questions and showing us things that he was late for an appointment. The gift shop is exptensive and has specialized publication, facsimile catalogues, and plans for building your own version of various wooden clocks. If youre interested in time, this is the place.
Interesting and informative.
All the clocks and watches are fantastic to look at
