What a pleasant surprise so close to New York city and right close to I95. Sunset is so beautiful from the Fayerweather island light. Hoping onto rock jetty to lighthouse is around 20 to 25 minutes. It is good activity if you like to burn some calories back and forth. I saw Eagles nest right on the top of the lighthouse. It is only hour plus from any borough of NYC so you can come here, enjoy good beach, rock hoping and awesome light which provides good photo opportunities.
A great walk. Beautiful spot. Rock seawall can be a catchy. Wear good shoes and be mindful.
Its sad to see lighthouses go out and no longer needed. It is definitely a rocky walk out there but definitely worth the journey. If you can help pick up trash while youre out there. Bugs can get nasty without the breeze. Always a good time seeing a lighthouse though!
The walk was amazing and the view was beautiful.Once we arrived to the lighthouse I was in awe of the scenery. I would recommend it to everyone. Its also a good workout.
Very nice place
Quiet place away from the crowds. The lighthouse is abandoned seems like. Some fisher folks here too
What a beautiful classic New England White House. It is one of my favorite parts of Seaside Park.
Ive been a visitor since winter 2013 when I stopped by a random beach after my Sikorsky interview in Bridgeport, it was a stormy and very cold day but I made it to the light house and it was lover ever since. I love to go there when Im by myself and need to find some clarity
Make sure to take a bath in bug spray. Took two pics before running off the island out of fear that the jurrasic Park mosquitoes might team up and carry me away.
Absolutely beautiful walk to the light house. Going across the rocks could be a little challenging if you have young kids or bad balance. The tide was out at the time I had went, I feel like it was easier without the water being so close. The only down side is the graffiti on the sides of the. Light house. Other than that it was well worth the walk.
Nice on a warm spring day like today.
Cool lighthouse, unfortunate graffiti on breakwater leading to it, also breakwater can be treacherous so be careful walking, osprey nest on top was a bonus
Nice place to explore!
Beautiful place to watch the sunset
Best picnic spot in Connecticut
Spent over an hour here and could have spent more. Maybe next time when warmer!
Very serene and peaceful after you make it towards the end of the jetty. Just the skills of crashing waves and chirping birds makes you feel one with nature! Loved every second of it!
Peaceful and quiet place with an amazing panorama and beautiful lighthouse. The path through rocks is adventurous but its walkable even with a 3 year old kid.
Very fun to go through the rock path.
Good
Nice place to just take a walk and get some exercise...and relax very tranquil
Its far from the start area you need to walk a lot and roll is not that good to walk Bad when you get to the end that you will realize that is going to be good the work you did you pass through!!!!️
Rugged walkway. Will take awhile to walk out to.
Water was so clean I thought it was bleach lol
Very very beautiful.
A great hike up, especially during good weather like today. Easy to follow path, with some slightly more challenging parts to work through on the rocks, but very worth it. Wow recommend~
Absolutely beautiful. Great walk across the rocks to the lighthouse. The lighthouse can only be viewed from outside but is definitely still worth it. Sandy beach with shells scattered throughout. Its breathtaking.
Seaside Park is Bridgeports gem.
Beautiful location, great spot to catch a sunrise/sunset
This place wanted to charge $40 just to visit this park because we were from out of town. Save you money doesnt look like you will be welcome as a tourist anyway.
This is a great place to take a hike and go exploring hard to believe theres such a neat place in the middle of the harbor be careful if you bring you dog the walk out on the jetty is challenging
I was very disappointed. I saved many light houses on my trip to Connecticut along the east coast. However, once I got to Connecticut, it was impossible to see any of them! Drove here just to find it is intended for Connecticut residents . Such a let down for the whole family. Do not waste your time coming to this light house. If you are not from Connecticut, avoid going to really anything along the coast in Connecticut because none that we went to were free. Insane prices for out of state travelers to visit.
Nice refurbishment great photo op!
Breezy and beautiful scenery
I paid $30 to visit lighthouse park in New Haven, and I dont have another 30 to view this lighthouse. I wish these things were not so expensive to visit.
Peaceful place
Could be even better if bums were not hangin in parking lot.
Beautiful.
Great view..of the long island sound
Do NOT go over the rocks and close to the actual lighthouse. Upon going close to the actual lighthouse, my wife and I were, quite literally, attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. About 40-50 collectively were around us, biting us constantly. The only way to get near the lighthouse during the summer season is to go in a hazmat suit, unless you enjoy blood sucking mosquitoes.
Millions of mosquitos and there is probally homeless people living in the light house
Bport history, must see, there are ppls names carved in the rocks from the 1800s
U going to love it
Beautiful
