Been to Veterans Memorial Park. Its a patch of green in the middle of urban space. Its hilly. They renovated the park. Its good to bring your dog here for a walk. Its near Divisive and the hustle and bustle there. Its a nice park for the public.
Really good disc golf course, challenging at times and well taken care of.
I had so much fun, the staff very friendly and helpful.
It was so great!! I had alot of fun there.
The most exciting disc golf experience Ive ever had! And boy, let me tell ya, Ive golfed a lot of discs in my day. This course itself ranks #3 in my top 10 list, right behind the royal Cambodian Disc Golf course in Phnom Penh, which was curated by king Shiamoni himself. Anyways what makes the veterans memorial park course so special is all the fascinating wildlife which provides a challenge like no other. My first two holes were quite standard, I managed to birdie on both. However at hole 3 I had an interesting encounter. On my first throw, my disc was snatched out of the air by a bear! Not wanting to ruin my score, I ran over and wrestled with the great beast, eventually freeing my disc from its jaw. I threw my second shot and just barely made it in the hole. On to hole 4. I had thought the bear would be the only strange hazard of this course, but boy was I wrong. As I threw my disc at the 4th hole, a massive orangutan leapt out of a tree, grabbing my disc just before it landed. Oh bother, I thought as I prepared myself for another tussle. But then, the mighty orangutan threw my disc directly into the hole, technically scoring me a hole in one. The next few holes were uneventful, and I began to think the craziness was over. I stepped up to the final hole, preparing to make my shot. I steadied my stance, focusing my gaze on the distant goal. I had to get 2 strokes here to be under par. But something was off. A slight tremor in the ground. I peered behind my back and nearly fainted from what I saw. A hoard of at least 30 adult African elephants was stampeding towards me. This was not optimal. I had to move fast, hastily making my first shot. I began sprinting as soon as i threw, but I was no match for the elephants. As I bent over to pick up my disc, I was suddenly lifted up by an elephant trunk, and somehow ended up riding atop the front most elephant of the pack. The stampede continued way past the final hole, my disc long forgotten. All my hopes of an under par game were lost. As the elephants carried me ever onwards, I questioned how I would ever become a great disc golfer like my father. I was snapped out of my depression by a sharp pain in my shoulders. I screamed out, and noticed myself being lifted off of the elephant. I looked up to see what could be lifting my 245 lb, 130 year old body. What I saw was none other than a pterodactyl, previously believed to be extinct! As we soared into the sky I tried to ignore the pain of the talons digging into my back, instead focusing on the great view of the park. We flew higher and higher, up above the clouds. I couldnt imagine where this dinosaur was bringing me. Moments later, I spied something in the distance, some form of aircraft. As we approached, I noticed it was unlike any aircraft I had seen. It was some sort of massive quadcopter, with a large central platform and a fancy looking building on it. I noticed something familiar atop the building, the signature blue and red of the Cambodian flag. Could it be?, I wondered, Are the legends true?. The pterodactyl gently placed my down on the aircraft. I hesitantly approached the large wooden door of the building. I cracked the door open and peered inside. It was pitch black. I entered, feeling along the wall for a lightswitch. As I stumbled around in the dark, the lights miraculously flipped on. As my eyes adjusted to the brightness, I noticed I was not alone. Standing before me was none other than King Shiamoni of Cambodia. He said to me Well done good sir, you have been chosen as the royal disc golfer of Cambodia. You have proven yourself in golf courses around the globe, and have now completed my final challenge. The king held out something towards me. It was his solid gold golfing disc. Do you accept my offer? He asked. I cautiously took the disc and kneeled before the king. I will not fail you, my king, I promised. I know. said the king. I looked up, and King Shiamoni crumbled into dust before my eyes. I let out a shocked gasp, and suddenly blacked out. I awoke on the ground, clutching the gold disc.
Nice park, easy to get lost in nature without getting actually lost, Discovery Museum magnet school exhibits and ropes course in the woods as well. Beautiful streams, flora and fauna, dog friendly and dog park, DISC GOLF, and huge picnic area with grill and fire pit
Nicely maintained disc golf course. Bit tough with all the trees though.

Awesome park, with a newly gated dog park just left of the entrance, a large space to do almost any recreation in, even a top class disc golf course that runs through the park. Clean, and beautiful.
I love taking my puppy for a walk here every once in a while. The park is clean and peaceful. It’s a nice place to take a walk or jog through.
Disc golf course is top quality
Beautiful area by shu university... Stop and enjoy the view!!
Place for some good soccer!
Clean and well kept.
Nice trails, and great nature walk. I do have issue with the some trash thrown about and trails need to be marked a bit better. Unknown its hard to keep a place maintained. Maybe get the local boy scouts involved.
The only natural get away in the middle of a busy city.
Very nice dog park
Good, challenging and creative course. #172 on my list of courses.
Once a park used by thugs, gangs and others you would like to avoid, now a wonderful, clean, well maintained Park used by anyone without worry thanks to the volunteers that have built and improved the 90 acre park with a fist class 18 hole disc golf course. The course attracts players from all over the country, daily, and for tournaments held once or twice a year. THe paths are clear of excessive brush, poison ivy, pricker bush, dead trees and anything else that would hinder a disc golf player, hiker, dog walker, or any outdoors activity! Come visit! Plenty of parking and easy to find right off the major roads and Parkways!
Fenced in dog park. Shady walking trains.
