This is a fantastic place to visit! In one afternoon of an enjoyable time, you can see a great look into the history of this county and Bradenton itself. .You will be able to actually go into several of the buildings that were a part of the founding structures here from the School, Post Office, and even the old Court House. Many are complete with documents and pieces of furniture original to the place. It is self-directed (but you can pick up a map with information) so you will have time to really look closely at each part of the village. It is also great for those who need an easier place to walk or access as there are a few steps but not enough to be an issue for most.Truly a very worthwhile place to visit if you are a tourist or a resident, you will come away with some great history and a new understanding of this area.
I went here as a little girl when I was in girl scouts, and now I love bringing my children. Beautiful place. Very relaxing and well kept. Small park that my children enjoy. Lots of parking. I even attended a wedding here and it was lovely. I absolutely love this place.
Very neat. I visited here on a 3rd grade field trip and now my child can experience it too. Well worth a day trip
So we found this place while on a trip when our other plans got cancelled last minute. This is a great place. The staff is super friendly and the scavenger hunt for the kids made the visit exciting for the kids (the kids also loved the playground). If you are into historical buildings and small villages, this is a must for your list of places to visit. Also, the gift shop has a lot of fun things in it, so be should to stop in there.
Lot of history here. Enjoyed visiting and walking through .
What a wonderful experience! 10 out of 10 would recommend
It was informative and I really enjoyed it!
Beautiful. Hap knows his stuff as he takes you through the early years of Manatee. Word if advice...go when you have at least a couple hours to spend. Its so much bigger than it lookd! Operated on donations.
This is an AMAZING little village! The staff/volunteers are so friendly and informative. I learned so much about Bradentons history in this place.
Very fun and educational museum. Lots to see and do. highly recommend.
A neat visit back to late 1800s and early 1900s! I would recommend allowing at least 2 hours, as we took 1 1/2 hours and didnt have time to explore gift shop or the cemetery.
Time and money well spent here. like any other park
Neat historical village. Admission is FREE but Donations welcome. Its worth spending an hour exploring with the kids. We went during An Old Florida Christmas which was $5 for adults and free for kids. They had christmas songs sung by choir boys which adds a nice touch of Christmas among the other Christmas decorations.
Great place to learn history. It is great that communities are preserving the history
A very nice small historical park!bi
Lovley little place to visit.
I love visiting and learning about the history of a place. This is a great little spot! Bring a picnic lunch with you and make it a day. There is a small museum and its a lot of fun!
This piece of history is amazing and entertaining. Back to our roots. Love it
Love this place! The grounds are beautiful so take the time to enjoy it.
It has everything I love: Historical information, great trees, room for groups to gather, eat and exchange information, clean restrooms and more.
See how people lived back in the day. A perfect time capsule.
I really liked this history museum. I may have seen better and larger ones, but rarely have I seen one this nice that is 100% free. I spent about an hour here really going over all of the descriptions. Very friendly folks here.
Nice place. Its all free to visit.
We have lived in this area for over 20 years and visited the Manatee Village Historical Park for the first time to attend our friends wedding. We will definitely return soon. It is a fun historical park. There is a vintage steam locomotive train. The school house and courthouse are from the 1800s. The ceremony in the white clapboard church was heavenly. Id recommend it to kids from 8 to 80!
Great place to visit that allows you to pick into long ago times of the area. It is also very well maintainedAlso it
This place is really nice. You get a look at how the county basically started with a courthouse, School, Church, and Farm. Along with some other really neat old historical things. Its free to go which was really cool. Theres a small playground there that my kids were able to burn off some energy. But my little ones definitely enjoyed seeing what it was like back in the olden days. Post House on the Prairie if you will. I forgot how simple life was for that era until I brought my kids here. They were excited to be able to step on a real train in the front of the property. If you want to go do something nice with your kids that gives them an education lesson secretly then definitely go here. The tour guide was really informational and nice. The gift shop has some really cool stuff as well.
A fun place to go! Lots of Florida past history. And the oak trees are very old and huge!
The architectural layout of this place is superb historical buildings and a must visit if you like to take photos, bring your family and friends and experience a grand time!
Excellent experience! Tons to see, no cost, superb historical value. Highly recommended.
This is a really cool place. Good place to take kids.
We kept meaning to check this little place out. It has a very nice gift shop. The staff is very friendly. The place as a whole is very well maintained. It was nice to take a self-guided tour with the brochure they give you. We learned a lot about how and why things were done the way they were in that era. My favorite was the Stephen house. The inside layout was very interesting due to the fact of no air conditioning back then. Overall, it was a nice stop.
This is a great place. Good place to take kids.
Love historic venues. This one deserves a go.
FREE WITH DONATIONThis historic recreation of old Florida village is great. Just enough to spend about an hour to see it all, more time if you dont have kids in tow. Well presented in an educational format.
Nice place to view a bit of history
Great florida history. Staff hassemi attentiveness levels. Does not seem to push but does not seem to interested in guests.Great gift shop! Wonderful atmosphere as far as set up and authenticity!!
Just a quick peak here. Seemed deserted
Great educational opportunity and nice place to explore
Its a great place to explore! The train is Old cabbage head, the kids loved it!
Great history park..plenty to learn
Historic site from mid-1800s to early 1900s. Run by awesome staff...The main building is a still active Methodist Church...It takes about an hour+ to see all the sites and the graveyard...
History dating to the origins of Manatee County. Original buildings, lovely displays. The old church is a great wedding venue. Gift shop with unique and local wares. Buy your historic sun bonnets here along with historic crafts, books, etc.
Fun little tour! Nice history of some historical buildings of Bradenton/ Manatee. Wish there was more in the area, I suppose it would be nice to have donuts at The Farmhouse, do this then head to Mixom farms to make a day of it.
$5 parking. Amazing look at early 1900s era Florida life. An absolute steal of a destination
Great place to learn about the history of the area. The story tellers add a lot to the experience.
Great place to see how Bradenton was .
Great place for a field trip. Very informative staff. Great gift shop. My son got to play the piano at the historical church. Check it out on YouTube at playing songs at an old church in manage village.
A Bradenton visit must! They have off hours but totally worth it. Old, Florida cracker structures with detailed history of each one..Manatee burying grounds next door. See and take pictures with a volunteer dressed in period costumes who tour you around with fun precise detail. Great Florida Cracker Christmas event with period Scrooge and Victorian santa who even lets me sit on his lap and take pics, vendors, choir, dancers...gorgeous round gazebo that sometimes has a musical act...you can even rent the old time church for your wedding! Agricultural equipment, houses are decorated with period items, schoolhouse, and fabulous country store which was moved from other locations as the other buildings were...the general store set up takes you back to 1880. A horse carriage sits in the entry. Grab a rocking chair and sit a spell. One of my favorite places in soflo.
Fun historical place to visit. Buildings are close together so not too much walking is required but plenty of space if you want exercise.
Village is awesome, great for kids and adults, tons of history and hands on for kids. We could have explored for days.
A really cool place to check out! Its a small area but the history is fascinating and theyve got some really cool things! Original restored homes, a boathouse, a school and more! Gives a great feel of how things were here in the past! I recommend going upstairs of the store and reading the handwritten letters from the world wars.
Super neat and FREE! Definitely check it out!
Great place for a day trip from the Tampa Bay area. Very informative, and its free!

Really cool place like going back in time.
A fantastic and interesting Historical park that details the early history of Manatee County with original buildings and exhibits.
Kid love this place! What a park managed by volunteers.
Very nicely done historic Recreation with buildings brought in from other parts of the county. They have several family-friendly events each year including cracker Christmas which is always a lot of fun with everything decorated like turn of the last century.
Very nice, well preserved historical park, with many buildings to explore. Most of which arent completely closed off as most other museums are. You are allowed to touch, feel and explore much of the history contained here. There is even a playground to give kids a break from the history. Its worth mentioning, the entire experience is free of charge.Anticipate this being a 1 to 2 hour historical adventure. One that I highly recommend.
Always great to go back in history.
Love to visit here. So relaxing and educational. The general store is fun to browse through.
Cool place to go and chill. Took the kids they enjoyed it. Small doesnt take allot of time to go through everything. Had a picnic there and kids played on playground after looking at everything.

Quaint, enjoyable spot. Great for families.
Small but packed with a great collection of local artifacts from early days of Manatee County plus an interesting cemetery dating back to civil war days. Gothic Cracker-style house is a good representation of life around late 1800s - early 1900s. Nice place to photograph.
