Always beautiful never disappointed time well spent
Great trail, it can get a tad crowded though. The last part up to Mallory Caves gets a tad steep but overall its gentle to moderate ups and downs and switchbacks.
Gorgeous hike! A bit rocky and uphill in spots, but totally worth it. Wasnt too hard but also was disappointingly easy
Good vigorous hike, THE CAVE IS CLOSED. There is additional pathway yo the right of the cave blocked area.
Nice, short, moderate hike. Lots of tree cover after the first section.
This is one mile but because of two valleys you traverse to get there down up down up it feels like 2 miles. Highly recommend good footwear no tennis shoes lots of boulders and rocks that could twist an ankle. Caves are closed april 1 to Sep 1 there is a fence blocking access to even see the cave. The last 50 feet is a scramble might not be do able with backpack see pics.
Fun, quick afternoon hike! Challenging enough with amazing views of the Rockies!
Fenced off, cant even get close enough to see it. Hike tonit was nice though.
Wow! I first entered Mallory Cave as a kid it the 1960s! How great to see it featured and reviewed by so many here. I have wonderful memories of hikes in the valley south of Table Mesa and scrambling on these rocks with Bob, Ron and others. I took my family (4 boys & wife) there in the 1980s to show them my childhood memories. I still have two dinosaur bones I found in the valley. In those days, bats were not a thing. I dont remember ever being aware of them. Thank you for respecting them now.
A good hike with kids.
Good hike middle of day in heat. Challenging but great.
Nice short little hike, the caves were fenced up so we couldnt go see the bats. The entire hike is uphill so prepare for that. Theres a lot of great climbing spots on the way up to the cave. We saw a big group of wild turkeys on the way down.
Fun quick 45 minute hike
This is a great hike. Lots of excellent views and varied terrain that keeps you interested. The cave and rocks are very cool. It was a good hike with young kids, not too long or difficult. The cave is closed to keep the bats healthy right now but still worth doing this hike. Watch out for poison ivy on parts of the trail.
The staff was friendly and the drinks were strong
Close to town. Nice little workout. Our round-trip from NCAR was just under 4 miles. We did not climb the last few yards to the actual cave.
Popular place, found some quiet areas to relax. Very beautiful
Beautiful fun hike
Very nice hike... Cave is not impressive, but the way makes it for the fun!
One of my favorite places to hike. Super easy trails.
Trails are well kept and views are astounding.
Fun east hike, with a little scramble at the end. I heard, some of the bats when I was there which was cool!!
Amazing but I want ti be able to go in a cave
Its a nice climb. But we couldnt finish the last 30 ft. They had it closed off
A pretty good hike. Parking was easily available at NCAR center. The hike itself was more difficult than expected, but still enjoyed it. There is an area for rock climbing on this trail and it was being used and enjoyed by others. Unfortunately, I was unable to see the actual cave due to closure to protect the bats. I might have to try this again when the cave is open, which should be October.
Awesome! I want to go back when I actually scramble up to the cave. Too icy but the trail itself was doable.
Cave is unaccessible due to bat protection, but the hike is relatively easy and fun.
Short and sweet, pretty views along the trail. The cave is usually closed off to protect the bats.
Amazing Views and incredible trail with switchbacks and areas you can Boulder and have fun
Great hike that is not on the main trail system. Views are spectacular.
Great hike - watch for trail runners :)
Short and sweet. Pretty views over Boulder. Gave it 3 stars because I think there are better hikes in the immediate vicinity, but it is nice.
Beautiful hike, good elevation change.
Very nice hike! Somewhat challenge as its an uphill almost the full way. But its length makes it still only moderate.
Great spot right outside Boulder for a day hike. LOTS of people though on the weekends so not the best if youre looking for wilderness seclusion.
Very nice hike!
This is a easy/moderate hike takes about an hour to get to the cave. Area closed for part of the year so make sure its open before you go.
Seasonal closures April 1 to October 1
Great hike. The last section of the trail is a scramble which would intimidate most people.
Great quick hiking trail with city views, pet friendly.
Hiked this in the snow. Really pretty but, as a warning, very slippery and easy to get lost on the trails when theres snow on them.
Hiking and climbing - yes, caving - no. Easier than 1st/2nd Flatiron and Bear Mt. Essentially traverses across and then switchbacks up with several areas for climbing.
To climb this trail one must call upon their inner mountain goat. This is a steep, rocky, rough terrain but the views are phenomenal. From the NCAR building to the cave its about 2.7 miles and there is an elevation gain of around 850 ft. When I went the last portion of the trail and the cave were closed due to some bat disease. But this is a good trail overall. There is plenty of parking at the NCAR building parking lot. Make sure to wear study shoes, comfortable clothing and bring a couple of bottles of water per person. Total round trip hike time is around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on expertise and fitness level.
Nice walk. Not too much uphill
One of my fav hikes
Nice hike with great views at top
Amazing place, amazing view
Amazing views! I didnt get to see the bats unfortunately.
Nice hike that was easy until the very top. The short scramble to the top was worth it for the view.
Nice hiking, fun for a beginner!
Difficult in the snow but the views were soooo worth it!
Beautiful hiking
It pretty
Fun family hike
Only open seasonal for nesting bata
Cave is closed
Great view and trail
Beautiful views
Bad ass! Bats!!!
Great!
