Flat quick trail. Free parking. Not crowded. However we were there during mid day, mid week. Stream along walking path. One can bike, walk or run.
I loved this place so much! I am in town visiting for a short time and have been twice. Loved sitting by the creek and my dog loved playing in the water. They also supply compostable poop bags for pups and garbages to throw them away. So peaceful and beautiful. I saw a hummingbird which was icing on top! Easy to get to, easy to park, easy to walk. Highly recommend a visit or two or three!
The creek is lovely. Looks good for wading. Good paths for hiking and biking. However, it is very hot midday. There is a fence between the path and the creek, and very few access points to the creek. Also, there are sometimes many mosquitoes if youre near the creek. Overall, pretty good - especially if you score on the one picnic table!
Nice flat trailhead, good for dogs and kids. Theres nice stream, views and free parking. The only thing is that its super crowded most of the time.
Easy trail, very flat, basically walking through a flat field, some scenery as you walk along a creek.
Busy on Sunday afternoon, but close to home and a quick getaway to move my body.
Well maintained trail. Flat grade so it is an easy walk and or bike. The trail follows along the river with some shade provided. Kids had fun playing in the river! there are mosquitoes. For those with allergies, there are cottonwoods in the area.
Saw a lovely very large hawk!
A great trail for kids that will keep then entertained year round. Diverse wildlife, from pasture with cows to the stream with a variety of fish and birds. Sometimes the trail can be busy with focused runners and bikers, so parents with small ones need to keep them from wandering into the trail alone.
Great for kids and dogs. Fun areas to splash in the creek with kids. Suggestion, stay on the walking paths to stay out of bikes way as it can get busy and a little stressful to make sure kids are out of the way when bikes buzz around corners.
This place is great. You can get away from the city without leaving the city. You can fish in the stream. There are also pave as well as gravel trails for running, hiking and biking. This is a fun place To hike when you cant get to the mountains.
Cute trail head :) cute little creek
Its beautiful, however this trail has more mosquitos than any one Ive ever been on. Not the one Id suggest to people to be honest.
Great hike for the kids. Stroller friendly. Paved bike path and gravel path for walking.
Perfect trailhead for Sunday evening walks.
Nice little hike for kids, very very easy. Please keep your fur babies leashed as not all dogs that go are friendly.. Have fun.
Great short trail next to a stream
Nice gravel path along Boulder Creek.
Great place for a flat run on a dirt surface. You can go north for pavement or south for dirt. Very pretty and quiet as well.
Not the most parking, but usually fine. Clearly marked trails.
Great! Good trails and spots to hang out by the creek.
I having been looking for an off leash trail to take my puppies and this place was incredible! It is a beautiful park full of wildflowers, trees, with a bubbling creek. There are multiple access point to the creek so my dogs could go swimming and cool off as they pleased! It was a beautiful walk for me, tired out my puppies, and was full of friendly people. This was my first time at this trail and will totally be back soon!
Lots of well behaved dogs, you can have them off leash with a special training and tag. Flat areas for bikes as well as dirt paths.
One of my favorite.
Shaded out and back trail. Right by the creek, nice and flat. Lots of bikers on the busier days.
One of my favorite trails for a relatively flat and fast run. Get here early though as the parking fills up quickly.
Favorite in town trail!
Nice trailhead. Cool view on south boulder
Fairly flat trail that has many game trails attached so its interested to traverse and see what new path you take each time. The mosquitos were out in force down by the water, so be ready with bug spray if you want to dip your feet in real quick. Gorgeous views of the mountains though and it connects back to the community center and other park areas as well
An easy trail for a casual walk with lots of places to stop and play in the water year round. Just watch out for burrs in the fall and winter, theyre everywhere!
So beautiful!
Love this trail. Its easy to access with plenty of parking and pretty views to enjoy with or without fur babies in tow.
Decent place for a casual walk
Two tips: 1) Wear bug spray 2) Be aware. Its bike and dog friendly, which can be dangerous.
I’ve walked this trail often with my dogs 1 off leash & the other on leash. Boulder dogs are friendly and most neutered/spayed. Runs along boulder creek and pretty shady, can be buggy in the evening- ENJOY!
Nice area and trail. Very popular.
Decent hike but wouldnt suggest bringing your dogs here unless their extra friendly. The trail says PLEASE KEEP DOGS LEASHED but no one followed that rule while i was there. My Black Mouth Cur is leash training and it was very hard for her to concentrate when every dog we were in contact with was off their leash....
Eaten alive by mosquitoes every time I go. I want to love this trail. I really do. Its beautiful, but too many mosquitoes.
Easy hike well more a walk but pretty.
Phenomenal views. 25 parking spaces, but even on a Summer Sunday there were s fre spots open. Not a lot of shade, but enjoyable walk.
My family and I went here for a hike and not even 10 minutes in we were SWARMED by mosquitos! We thought getting away from the creek would help but they still were extremely thick. We tried to bare through it as it is a really pretty trail, the final straw was when I looked at my poor dog who had at least 20 mosquitoes on each of her legs! We had to run back to the car and still were swarmed all the way into the parking lot. They desperately need to spray for mosquitoes as this was the worst infestation both me and my boyfriend have ever seen.
A good place for a quick walk with the dog, though some dog walkers can be clueless about keeping their dog under control and away from others. Best in the summer when the creek is higher n you can splash and cool off.
Some chick yelled at me for throwing a stick at a tree. Like really?
This is a nice easy to get to place with convenient parking. Although the lot can fill up quickly, but if you wait a minute or two, someone will walk out to leave and move their car. Great for biking and rollerblading. I take dogs rollerblading here. There’s also a nearby dog park if you follow the paved path. There’s also a unpaved path in the woods that goes by a river. Bring bug spray if you walk/wade through the river - mosquitos are CRAZY.
I love this creek! Beautiful and quiet.
I just drove all the way to Ouzel Falls trailhead over the weekend with a friend and his dog just to find out DOGS ARENT ALLOWED IN NATIONAL PARK LAND. So please, if youre here to complain about dog poo on this trail, do us all a favor and go take a flying leap off somewhere very high.. or, go to a national park! You wont be missed :))
Trees in bloom and fragrant. Creek running with dogs and folks walking. Lovely.
Love it, great to ride your bike, run orbjust walk and canbtake your dog or cat
It just keeps going. . .shady creek walking with plenty of troutlets and soft pkaces to take your running shoes off for a pleasant soaking. I found the network north of this park with a halfmile patch if residential streets particularly useful and inviting to all of east boulders causeways. Offers a variety of wild flowers paved and dirt tr@cks with inviting a little fold of seclusion if you really want to find it. Parking area rarely overburdened is unusual for this town. Please help keep that a secret if it is to stay that way
Great place for a quick flat run, easy bike ride. Passes by East Boulder Rec Center too. Great parking, easy to find. If you follow this trail south it winds through open fields, under South Boulder Road and jogs West briefly before turning south again where it terminates to the pavement on Marshall Road.Note: NOT a great place to have a dog off leash.
Gorgeous trail by the creek. Wild flowers in season. Shade and sun. Flowing water.
A great trail, right in town. Good birdwatching, trail running, dog walking. Perfect for families with little ones who want to explore.
Fun easy hiking trail. Next to a small creek. Places to sit, good view of the mountains. Bike trail is separate.
This is a fairly flat trail close to town. It was great to walk both the pup and the 5 year old here.
Such a great trail with shade and small creek for dogs and kids.
Didnt do much of the trail but went for pictures. Great spot with a huge tree, a barn in the background, and cattails galore. Tons of brown stickers that adhere to everything!
Beautiful walking area!
Nice place to take a walk, see wildlife, and fish the South Boulder Creek open space
Nice place to go for walks
Beautiful area
A nice low-key hiking option in town with a mix of trails and pavement. Trailhead parking lot is usually full, but there are a few bike racks plus easy connection to nearby bike paths.
Still love it... great views!
A very pleasant walk along a stream.
Great place for a morning run!
Dogs are now not allowed on this trail. Saw a whitetail deer, lots of birds, beautiful river. Enjoyed the prarie dog colony at the end of the trail before the road, about 1-2 miles in!
Nice calm, quiet walk area along a creek. Feels like you are out of town but is super-accessible from Boulder. Easy, free parking, with trails leading into town. Great views of the Flatirons and great for the family/pets with occasional water access.
Nice flat trail along Boulder Creek. Good for strollers or wheelchairs.
Wonderful flat trail next to South Boulder Creek. Access to the East Boulder Community center. Great for dogs. Good bird watching!
Flat easy escapade into nature
Fun and short enough to not feel tired.
Beautiful trail. Near water and has a separate bike trail so you dont have to keep looking over the shoulder to make sure you dont get run over.
If youre looking for a flat, sea-level-visiter friendly trail with great views, this will work. Note that its also popular with runners and bikers.
Beautiful view, with lots of shade. Flat and good for a stroller. Was kind of buggy.
Nice trail with a pretty stream. Not really worth driving to but if youre in the area...
Nice, very busy at lunch hour.
Beautiful. Just got fall and mid-50s and brilliant evening light
Its a nice trail but full of mosquitos.
Love to bring my dog here. Shady, water, other friendly dogs. The only negative is the dog/bike interactions. Im always afraid that my dog is going to get in the way of a bike when they come up quickly and before I can get her to my side.
Great spot for a mellow walk/bike ride. The trails are well maintained and have very little incline. Good spot for dogs as well!
