Maple Lake trail, as you can see on the map, is 1.3 miles long. With a little more effort go up the hill and enjoy the panorama of the park and its surroundings
Beautiful gem that everyone needs to check out! Unfortunately right under an OHare flight path so the sounds are interrupted by overhead planes, but the scenery and paths are amazing!
You can choose different paths & they have the hill if you want more exercise.
Absolutely beautiful, we loved it here. So much to look at!
Its cool & if youre cool you should go!!!
No for little kids try Lincoln marsh instead.
Currently, the water is way to cold. It sits at about 39-45 degrees, and no young of the year in the lake. Do not try to fish there unless you want to waste your time, right now. Wait for the water to warm up and then try it.
Its a real nice park to walk or ride your bike. And there are benches along the way .
Beautiful first preserve.
Beautiful and not loo long of a walking trail.
As a reviewer said below, the park needs more “rubbish bins”. And when the pulverized gravel trails are wet, or even soaked, you cannot ride a bike at high speeds nor can you maneuver very well. The MAIN paths are essentially already setup to have asphalt trailS.Otherwise the the park is very open, with a variety of landscapes and it has different water features, such as: a large pond, wetlands, and and swampy grasslands. It also has SOLID soil grassland and a great sledding hill for the winter. If DuPage county invested a little more money it would even more spectacular!Highly recommended for walks, runs, dog walking, and fishing similar to the typical midwestern pond and its lake fish.
Nature is grace
Very beautiful park
A beautiful place for a walk, hike, bike or even cross-country ski around the lake and through the adjacent wetlands on 2.5 miles of trails, which include a stretch of the North Central DuPage Regional Trail. The eastern portion is a smooth blacktop trail, about the width of a typical city sidewalk. Then the pedestrian bridge carries the regional trail to the Savanna Trail on the west side of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road, which is crushed gravel. As for history of the Nature Preserve, its the same as that of what is now Bloomingdale. The original sole inhabitants were the Potawatomi until 1830, when the first white settlers arrived. In 1833, the Meacham brothers claimed 1,200 acres of woodlands for construction and fence use.In 1920, the Forest Preserve District acquired 40 acres previously owned by the Meachams from the Heinberg family and created Bloomingdale Grove Forest Preserve. It was later renamed Meacham Grove and additional parcels were acquired in 1977 and the mid-1990s. Then in 2012, the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission gave the area an extra kevel of protection by designating it as the Meacham Grove Nature Preserve. & LNT
Lots of gravel. My brother fell and had to get staples in his head.
Great place to run or walk
Great place to unplug and get lost in nature. The trails are perfect for walking, running or biking and the landscape is sure to inspire.
Very good place to walk/run/bike. Main patch making circle aroud water, plenty benches to sit.
Great for running and walking! Watch out for coyotes up on the hill!
Nice preserve but it was also wet and messy this time of the year
Along with the views, its a good place to run especially if your knees/feet has gotten worn down from running on asphalt. The main track around the big pond is about 1.33 miles and it seems to be made up of some soft rock & sand combination, which come out to be a lot easier on your joints.
Loved the nature.
Pretty place
Im from Florida visiting. My friends took me there it was very nice. We actually walked up the grass trail to the top of the hill.
I really like walking here if Im wanting something scenic but with a path. There is the main loop around the water and an option that takes you either up the hill or around it. You can also take the offshoot path that goes into woods (which has another offshoot trail that is dirt and comes back to the main path). There are numerous benches along the way, a few garbage cans, and a fair amount of parking and entrances. There is easy access to the water on the south end (which is convenient when the dog needs a drink), and people sometimes fish there (though please dont leave your lines, if possible!)
Great place for a run/walk. Clean porta potties.
Great place to enjoy the outdoors walk or bike nice open space.
Nicely maintained trails surrounded by natural beauty. Many different birding opportunities and terrain suitable for biking, hiking and walking. Great picnic areas as well.
Love this place. Happy place
Not the craziest hike around but its beautiful and peaceful to be here with not too much of a crowd. Great for a fun time on a bike
A great place to quickly get out into the middle of no where. Dirt and gravel trail. I Wouldnt recommend for smaller children or older folks. Trail is uneven and there are a good amount of hills. Great for running, walking, and bike riding.
Cute little forest preserve, though it seems inordinately popular. A larger bike path links through it, but the bulk of this park circles around a lake. I took my dog here and enjoyed the walk, though the additional food/water I packed proved unnecessary for the length of time it took us to make the loop.
Wide trails
Nice walking paths
A beautiful little running and biking track around a lake out in the suburbs.
This forest preserve trail/path is fantastic. The west side that goes from the trail loop to Rosedale Rd is a natural area through shaded wooded area. The east side path is crushed stone is open and has little shade. There is an option to go up a steep hill.
Beautiful views of prairie and lake
Good place for a run
A beautiful place to walk, run, or bike. A bridge connects the east and west sides of the path, over Roselle Road. There is parking and information on the Maple Lake side in Bloomingdale, off Circle Avenue.
Lake, bike and walkinh trail. Fishing spots.
Tranquil & peaceful place to regain focus after a rough day!!
I loved hanging out with my dad and dogs!
My favorite get away for a walk or run
Sun was out. Great running . Terrific place. Family oriented for picnic, walks, runs .
Gorgeous for a long or short stroll and has a loadin ramp for canoes or boats!
Great biking/hiking trails along with large hill you can hike up or slide down in winter.
Beautiful hills overlooking a lake. A couple of smooth running and biking trails surround the lake. There are some offroad trails too, but be prepared; The low lying areas are wetlands and well shaded. Perfect for mosquitos.
I love to go for walks and bike rides here. Not crowded and relaxing.
Great local path i enjoy every year
A nice path for walking or riding
Great place for walking
Beautiful place for walking, running, biking, strolling and fishing.
All I have to say is nature
Very nice public Forest Preserve that is taken care of and has facilities.
Awesome paths off to the side of trail past lake, on either side of the bridge.
Beautiful Forest Preserve with a lake, wetlands, woodland and meadows. Lovely spring wildflowers near the Savanna Trail!

Nice place for a walk
Very nice spot to fly drone
Saw a coyote on the trail, was cool.
Nice place to be in nature and workout
Hiking/biking trail. In the winter sledding down the hill is possible. Im not sure how good the fishing is but I have seen many people fish there. This is part of a trail system that connects Spring Creek Reservoir with Mallard Lake reservoir
Large mouth ... Catfish ... Blue gills.
Short and sweet. Perfect for running.
