We had been looking for an area rug for our family room for several months. I visited Birmingham Design Studio on a few separate occasions. I was always greeted by someone from their team to help me look through their incredibly large selection of stunning area rugs. They never pressured me, which allowed me to feel comfortable as I looked through their selection. I found the perfect area rug...and this is when I began to realize just how special their design team treated their clients.I shared a few things with them in casual conversation. The first thing was that we had received a damaged piece of high end furniture from another home furnishing store. I also shared that there was a particular piece of artwork I was interested in for my kitchen. And I mentioned that I had missed out on a home accessory I was going to purchase because it had been discontinued.The next day, Kristi from Birmingham Design Studio called me, and one by one addressed EVERYTHING I had mentioned to her.She ordered a new liner (free of charge) and a new custom leg for our damaged furniture direct from the manufacturer...even though the furniture was not purchased at her store. She opened an account with the company that produced the artwork we were interested in purchasing. And of course, she had found the discontinued accessory (at about half the price) and was having it sent to the store.I cannot say enough good things about this team. I will go out of my way to purchase from them in the future because I think they are TRULY WONDERFUL & TALENTED PEOPLE who have outstanding work ethic. And I will always recommend them to others, because I know first hand that they care about their clients.

Their whole team made my shopping experience a very positive one. They took the time to give me choices and did not try to sell me everything. In fact, I wanted some window treatments which they said I did not need. They have earned my trust. They were not pushy. Also, Kristi has a great knowledge of oriental rugs. I can not recommend them highly enough.

We recently relocated to Birmingham. The vast choices in retail and professional design services are overwhelming, if not downright intimidating, compared to those available in our previous residential location. Furthermore, our relocation is a considerable downsize. The Birmingham Design Studio excels in customer service and taste. Christi and Kevin, the designers, excel in figuring out the tastes of their clients and finding furniture that fits their clients’ style and budget. I highly recommend the Birmingham Design Studio because I’ve worked with designers from other stores who designed rooms for me that THEY liked, but I wasn’t thrilled with. Love this place! It all started one snowy miserable day when I walked in to look for an entry table on what certainly was a bad hair day for me. Thats when I met Kristi - an outstanding designer. Since then, Kristi and her design team have helped me with furniture and design for our vacation condo in western Michigan, and ongoing re-do of our home not far from the store. The store has a wide selection of furniture and rugs. Kristi and the designers quickly picked up on my individual preferences and at no time did I feel pressured to buy. I stopped shopping anywhere else!

We have worked with Kristi and Kevin and found the experience wonderful. Their client service is exemplary and both Kristi and Kevin are great listeners. They listened to what my wife and I wanted to accomplish but best of all they were able to guide us and push us in a fresh direction. We went from a rough idea to reality -- and we love it. What a wonderful experience at Birmingham Design Studio. Kamran and the entire staff that we worked with (Kristi, Kevin) were very attentive and helped us find the perfect rug for our dining room. The selection of unique and one of a kind items is amazing, and regardless of having very high end items they also have a great selection of the obtainable. I bought my first Persian rug from Kamran at Birmingham Design Studio back in 1990. I have continued to do business with them ever since. My passion is Persian rugs, and I have realized that this is the best place to buy the most unusual, high quality pieces. Recently, Kristi and her design staff helped me to redecorate my home. They rearranged and added to my existing furnishings, to maximize the functionality of my space. It is truly like having a new home.

Highly professional and personalized service. I built a new house and was overwhelmed with the choices from cabinets, to knobs, to furniture, to paintings. Kristi was wonderful in simplifying the process, working with the builder, and creating the exact ambience I wanted. The selection of furniture, art, rugs, etc is the best in town. Everyone at BDS was very attentive to my schedule and when they stage the house watch out because a whirlwind of activity occurs and with Kevins eye for placement, the house will look marvelous.
