Okay so showed up with sun screen and a ready to run attitude. This place is awesome several really fun trails. If you are a trail runner yours all set. If your a road runner maybe think about leaving the hokas at the house but it definitely can be done and its beautiful so helps to break up run routes with great views there is supposedly several waterfalls I only saw one but I was in a hurry for time. Oh and the restrooms are open wich is a win
I love this lake. Its beautiful. I just wish it had more parking spaces. Its crowded every time ive been.
Gorgeous sprawling acres of easy, moderate, and difficult hiking trails. Cliff views and river bank landings are prominent. Be sure to take plenty of water and pick up trash!
Nice clear hiking trails, clean grounds and marked walking trails in high traffic areas. Beautiful escape from city life lots to explore and enjoy the simple Beautiful scenery of Central Texas.
Great hiking trails. Beautiful scenery, great work out. Beautiful views definitely somewhere you want to take your family. Excited to see highly recommend. Be sure to leave before sundown when it closes
Beautiful trail.Needs better directional signs. You can go miles and never see signs.I only saw one park map in the middle of the park near the Pony Bridge.
So peaceful. The trails are well marked.
This place was beautiful. Well tended, and huge. It was a fun hike. Would be even more fun after some rain. The creeks and streams were a bit dry, but we still had a lot of fun.
Lots of well maintained trails. Dogs on leash welcome. Beautiful area.
Nice trails. Great for a family hike or on your own.
The things we were hoping to see we were able to find, and they did not disappoint..! We were looking for the large rock formations and caves, and also for a waterfall we had seen someone else post. The problem is, these trails are not well marked, so make sure you have a good trail app and a printout of the official trail map from the parks website just in case. We tried to follow the Belton Dam Trail which we had found on the trails.com app, but it is not an official trail so it was not easy to follow completely. The park does have gorgeous views of hills, interesting paths, and the rock formations were amazing. Go prepared, take LOTS of water and food, and have fun! Its worth it.
Nice area to hike and get away from the city. Plenty of trails with varying degrees of difficulty. Some of the trails are actually a pretty good challenge. There are even places that look like you could scale the rock face of some steep cliffs. You could spend all day taking loops and all of the main trails. We will have to revisit soon.
Excellent place to hike! The trails are well-kept and its not at all crowded.
This trail has alot of potential. It is beautiful out there. But the trails needs a major renovation. They are poorly marked and miss so much due to this. Some parts have eroded away and make it unsafe to hike through
There was not enough signs for directions. The trails were confusing. A nice hike.
Great trails and plenty of nature to explore.
Free entrance, good trails, hills, creek, small waterfalls, and shady!
Its so peaceful here! Great for trail running, walking, biking. I would def recommend trail shoes, if possible.Lots of beautiful wildflowers and creatures. Be safe out there and leave no trace! #dontmesswithTexas!
Really enjoyed our first walk here. Wont be our last
I love this.. Its my New Favorite Spot...It took place for my Lake in Dallas
Beautiful hiking area! Bring bug spray for sure, and your own water source.
Nice place to hike but someones German shepherd was running loose no collar and my dog is dog aggressive
A wide variety of trails, buy you must have a good sense of direction.
What a wonderful place to spend the day in Nature. This location has Canyons, Hills, Caves, Bluffs, Prairies, Rivers and Lakes all on a 250 acre piece of land. Unfortunately, the park is currently closed until further notice, but you can still visit the area around the dam and the spillway.
Great place to take relaxing walk surrounded by nature, close to our home in Belton. I wish the trail was a bit longer, only about 1.4 mile to the end of the trail, one way, otherwise it is nice, well maintained park
Great place to take my kids to get their faces out of a phone screen and face to face with nature and the world around us.
Great combination of steep inclines, and easy wide trails.
Texas . WITH MARK, JOLENE.LAUGHTER JARENE HUSBAND AND A FEW FRIENDS. PERFECT. MEMORIES....
The boys and I loved it
Miller Springs Nature Center is a nice place to hike but a lot more work needs to be done with trail markings. You’ll be hiking along a trail which splits with zero markings to indicate which way is which trail. Then you might hike 50 feet down this unmarked trail to come across 3 painted markers within 20 feet. Why not put the markers where the trail splits? Also the maps need updating as some trails are closed. In short if you like to plan out your hike this isn’t the place for you.
Good trails and only spotted one snake!
An awesome hiking experience.
Always great little get away with kids to walk the trails n cool down in little water streams.
All terrains!!! Get there early and leave before the heat catches you.
Amazing walking trails and streams!
Best park around Belton/Temple area. Bring your hiking shoes and mosquito repellent.
Alot of the places were closed off, and the trail is a bit confusing. However, this is a fun place to explore.
Super cute park with walking/running trails! And up close view of the Murals on the dam.
Beltons hidden gem of natural beauty and great hiking/running trails.
Im so glad to have this place open again. Its a great spot not too far from town when you just need to get out for a second. It can be adventurous or simple for a family with kids. Plus, its free! Very thankful that the community pitched in and brought it back for residents.
So much fun to hike in the wilds of Texas!
It was a very nice and peaceful experience for my first time being here.Anxious to go back when I have more time and explore even more.
Great place to get lost in the woods and find yourself again lol
Took a small detour cause the trail was flooded. Almost slipped and fell about 8 feet.
Beautiful place to hike
Great little trail
We loveeee this place!
Great place to be if your in the mood for a hike
First time visiting since it reopened. Great hike.
I was in town doing to military contact work at Fort Killeen and needed an adventure. This place was so peaceful* I needed the solace and found it. I went during the middle of the day in August so I didnt see anyone. I would recommend buying a Camel Pack and filling it with gatorade. Im fairly active so I need the electrolytes.
Great place to hike, enjoy nature and jump across rocks. We only made it to the flat land because there was so much to see. My hubby and children went down in the lower level of the park, but I stayed on the trail and enjoyed the views. There were a lot of people hiking. Will definitely return for more adventure.
Nice walk
My son and I go often. We love it
The trails seem a lot more dangerous and eroded than Im used to, but it was navigable
Great trail to spend with the family. Fairly easy routes. I am glad that some time over the last couple of years, they decided to open the place for dogs.TheRe are some nice views and great picture opportunities. I will definitely stop by again.
One of our favorite hiking trails in the area. Good for kids as well, plenty of shade.
We love this place & Im so glad its reopened! Its quiet, peaceful, nice trails. Just a nice place to get your hike on.
Good locale nature area with hike/bike trails. I have seen some snakes.
Lots of trails. Beautiful scenes.
If you like your walks to push you a little this is the place. You feel like your exploring.
These trails are beautiful and theres plenty directions you can choose from. Beware of spiders though. There are huge webs everywhere.
Love this place
Love to hike here! Be sure to bring plenty of water and a good sense of direction (or a compass). Trails are marked but confusing. There is a restroom at the trail head and also a map of the trails.
Didnt really see any nature. But we saw whatever was there I guess.
Swell and tranquil place. With a few wonders.
Its a nice little hiking place.
Great hiking trails.
Grest hiking spot
Make sure to take pic of map. Then enjoy a amazing scenery along with amazing trails! Bring water as you will not want to stop exploring.
Gorgeous view, a hidden treasure around temple. Many twists and turns to explore, with an amazing story behind it.
Miles & miles of trails. Wintertime forest with touches of green here & there to remind you spring is coming.
This is just the other side of Miller Springs. One side is in Belton, the other in Temple. This side is a bit easier to navigate from the beginning. The scenery is pretty, just remember you are in nature, watch for snakes, slippery ground and animals.
Always a favorite place to visit.
Once you pass the long stretch in the beginning, there is a lot of steep walking! We love this place, we’re so happy it’s been reopen!
It is a pretty area. Unfortunately the trails are not well marked. We hiked for an hour and only saw one trail marker. As we came back, we came a different way than the main path we came in on, and came across signage saying the trails we were on were closed due to erosion. There was nothing indicating this at the trail head or at the map board. I think it would be very easy to get lost out there.
Its great for Geocaching!
We came out to grab a couple of caches and enjoy the sights. We enjoy coming out here to find some quiet in our busy lives.
Great place to hike.
Underrated, its a great place
Glade plants on limestone ledges, canyons and grottos deeper in, lots of bird species, lots of trails from easy to tough.
Local spot. A bit overgrown and in need of trail maintenance. But it is still a great outdoor rec. Area
Beautiful scenery with many trail options
The paths were nice and easily accessible.
Gorgeous place to see nature. Excellent trails for all types of walking, hiking. Clean and well kept.
Its beautiful.. Me and my family go and hike the trails or make our own trails.. Its worth the visit ..
We love hiking different trails & this one is great for more difficult terrain to help change it up. Although its no ones fault but everytime we have gone alot of it is shut down due to erosion, weather related issues etc. But none the less a beautiful park. I know the staff have worked really hard to have it open again!
Perfect local place to go for a hike or trail run. Have ran across a rattlesnake (pun intended). Take caution.
This nature park has one of the longest set of trails in the area. It is now run between Belton and Temple cities and maintained by local volunteers .
Its si beautiful and peaceful here! Im so glad the cities and people came together to get it reopened. I just really hope other hikers will keep their trash picked up so it doesnt close again.
Best place to hike some trails in town!
One of my favorite places to visit back home. The last time I was there, there was a fair amount of damage from excessive rainfall, but its still a beautiful natural area with tons of wildlife and history
Amazing place
Beautiful
Nature preserve with unpaved trails. A great escape to nature!
