Great little train ride. Run by volunteers. Due to virus gift shop closed. Walked around the corner and got ice cream next to antique store
The volunteers here are so knowledgeable and friendly. Great experience for my 3 year old. He keeps asking to go back!
If you love trains this is a very cool place to go. Especially for kids. You can see the old trains up close and personal. You can even ride a train a couple miles, albeit very slowly. The staff are amazing and make you feel right at home. Make sure to call ahead so you know if the train is running that day, it doesnt run every day but during the summer it seems like we hear it most days.
The staff was very nice. But during the ride if you are not seated near the speaker, then you cant hear. The ride isnt particularly scenic, but if you have a train enthusiast for your kid, theyd most likely wont care.
Located near Main Street and has plenty of accessible parking. Fun for the kids to climb on and get dirty just being kids. The summer time rides are interesting. Would be nice to get more updates on restoration efforts. The landscape around train cars needs modifying so to attract viable visitors. Just a short walk around the corner to additional historical options.
Even though its a no frills low key historic site, still great people and an affordable place to take your kids on a train ride. They loved it! Thanks to the workers who keep this running!
You ride the train. Lady talks the whole time.
Love that Rail roading and Frisco railroading memorabilia specially the steam engine
We took the Halloween train ride and had a nice time. The entire train is run by volunteers with proceeds reportedly going to support the non-profit organization. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets ahead on the Internet as we were told all Internet purchases board the train first. Plus, you can pay with a credit/debit card on-line but reportedly not at the train Depot area. The 4 mile ride took about 35 minutes in total and there were games for kids after the ride. Not a bad ride for $10 per ticket.
Lovely place to take photos and look at the trains. I wish you were able to go into the trains however but rodents and bugs are also problems so I get why the trains are locked
They have several old steam locomotives here slowly being restored. Plus they have a older diesel locomotive for excursions with vintage passenger cars. They even do event excursions birthday ect..
Great place to stop by, like the old engines and cars, like walking in a rail yard from the past
This is so awesome. No other place can you climb on 100 year old trains
I see a lot of potential with the several train cars sitting on the tracks but have seen no movement in the past decades to make them at least sightly to those passing through. I may be mistaken but I dont believe the cars are even open to the public for visiting as a static display and have seen signs to stay off. Thats probably because of concerns for safely but they are right out in public viewing distance. Belton had very high water rates and taxes so maybe some of that could be diverted to at least getting the exterior of these cars upgraded.
Rode the ice cream train and had a great time. The kids loved it. It was really great to see the people running it truly love what theyre doing.
We had a great time! I took the kids (all 3 and under) and my older parents. Everyone really enjoyed it. The train is 98 years old and has gone over a million miles. Looking at the comments, Im not sure what people expected for a $10 train ride, but it was well worth the price. The volunteers were very nice!
A fun time for the kids!
I play pokemon in this area, but I dont get how this is a museum? its just a couple of old trains sitting near the road. the only time I have seen any people that looked like they were involved with it they were just yelling at kids not to climb on the trains. people tale alot of class photos and prom pictures near them.
If you like being up close to trains, you might like this. Old rail cars and a short straight line ride at a slow speed. The history of it is fun.
Great for the grandkids!
Nice park but wish the train cars were open more often
Great ride so much fun. But the woman who schedules the rides and checks you in is the rudest woman ever! She hates volunteering she hates to deal w people. She makes ever little thing into a problem. Rude woman for a family fun thing. She really ruined our day. Ill never take the kids again.
A short ride but very nice crew and equipment. You can pick an open air car or an enclosed car. You can also ride in the locomotive cab for a pretty low price, I took the cab ride.
I Enjoyed It. But I Thought There Would Be More To It
We had an awsome time riding on the train.!
Edie was great! Very kind. Great fun for little kids.
Great crew of employees and a fun train ride! Go for the locomotive ride up front with the engineer the little ones love it!
I would love to take my girls on this train ride!!
Fun ride. We did the Friday Ice cream train.
I love trains
Not open when Im in the area
Great family experience
The lady that sells the tickets and talks on the train Is very rude and turned every little thing into a issue would not be going back i would not recommend taking children she had issues with that especially
