Quiet. Water is calm. Warm spot even if breezy. No public restroom. Porta potty across the way by the pump track. Grassy area. One picnic table. Three or so benches. Big rocks for climbing or sitting.
This park is a fantastic time to be had by all. Sit and relax while you take in the sights. A small play equipment area will entertain the wee ones. Bellingham should be proud this is a park done right.
This park is super clean and cute! it has a great view, as lots of bellingham does. it is small, but a great park nonetheless. there is construction currently being done there. only downfall is that the shore is made of rocks, not sand. ):
Great way to have repurposed so much previously unused space. The Granary building is beautiful, fun play area, rocky little beach, industrial charm and a pump track. So much to see and do in this little downtown treasure.
Great spot by the water. Super close to my work and easy to get to. Very clean. Cant wait to go back
Its a nice place to just walk around and be out in the open air while within the city limits
Very nice place for a taking a lunch break. The bike park area is fantastic.
Nice bike track (bmx pump track)
Its so nice these sorts of places go up near the ocean! Its well lit and open to anyone with proper parking. Its also got a playground for the kiddos!
Nice park by the beach.. The playground is astroturf-like, small and requires kids to use their imaginations, which I think is great! Negatives: Goose poop is all over the grass and the piling pillars freak me out (pictured) because even though they are angle-cut at the top, kids have been trying to climb them.
Nice water views but I couldnt find any sealife.
A postindustrial approach to the remnants of the former Manufactured Gas Company area. Attention: there arr no public restrooms!
Waypoint Park is Bellingham newest Park on the waterfront. Right behind the renovated Granary building on Granary Avenue is a little Urban Park with newly poured fresh white concrete sidewalks, approximate 120 foot wide Pebble Beach, the old acid ball remains there and small log and slide playground for children. The nearest parking was on Holly Street and its not clear where or if there will be parking for this park. But its nicely landscaped between the sidewalks with beauty bark and drought resistant perennials and small Japanese maple trees and several beautiful small wooden benches along the way.
Clean with easy access to view waterfront. Dont swim or wade in tho. No restroom either.
A great Place to launch a Kayak or StandUp PaddleBoard, a short walk, Stores opening soon(see construction photos) from new parking lots.I hesitated to recommend to this for awhile but now there is plenty of drive up parking now. Kids playground 5-12 reccomended. My 2 year old launches completley off the slide onto the ground but its like rubberized foam on the ground around the park so its relativley safe. The logs set up are pretty advanced. This park there are no scooters, skateboards, or bikes allowed so prepare with a bike lock at the bike racks. The playground looks really inviting to bmx or or other but there is security at times. I standup paddleboarded here before the parkibg was open and walk a ways carrying my board so now that theirs close parking I expect to see a lot of boards and boats launching here over the summer. No drinking fountains yet or bathrooms. Shops are all under construction still. Lake Boulevard Park there is lots of places to set up hammocks all those are the only place to set up a hammock looks like off of the acid ball sculpture which I dont think would be disrespectful. Once that catches on theres room for about 10 hammocks or more. Quick walk from downtown and old town through maritime park. This park very much reminds me of the Gas Works Park in Seattle with the abandoned Industrial Containers in all their rust and Glory.
Good place and I like the ball ting thats cool
Great place to take kids on a bike ride
Beautiful day, terrific park!
This park exemplifies the true essence of Bellingham! It’s beautiful so far and I cannot wait until the new waterfront development is finally finished. The Acid Ball is the unifying symbol that this city has needed. I was so excited to hear that Woods Coffee is going to convert it into a walk-up espresso bar. I can’t wait! Peace and love, G.
Bring your bike! It has a pump park for all ages.
Theyve really done a nice job of developing this space!Brand new playground, and lots of neat sculptures, large repurposed objects like the giant steel orb.Just wish they had some info on some of the pieces, like what the is it??
This area is still being worked on but I think its gonna be way cool.
Took my son there to play on a sunny late summer morning. We arrived there around 0900. As we walked down to the little beach we came upon two homeless people sleeping behind a log. My son went about building his rock throwing business (his dream job). As we were playing about I found a syringe, old socks, and other...things. So...off the beach! I ended up carrying him up to the play area and he went crazy. Great play area! After a bit we walked around and looked at all the equipment left from GP and he could see where his Great Grandfather and Grandfather worker. If Bellingham would enforce the laws and keep it clean, Id give it a much higher rating.
This is a really cool spot in Bellingham. The road that goes through has a separate bike lane AND sidewalk. There is a bike jump course, a playground and a beach, along with the cool old buildings from GP
Great new park in town. Kids love the bike road
Could use some sort of shade and maybe a few more picnic tables on the water side of the park. Currently bathrooms are inside the Grainery bldg but construction wont let ya use em.
What a great place. A playground for older kids, dirt bike park, on the waterfront. We saw 4 sea lions! Its new and not completely built up yet. A wonderful place for a walk.
They just started this park. I hope they keep the big rocket thingsLook foward to seeing it in a few years.
This park is beautiful. There are some nice bike lanes. New dirt biking tracks were recently built parallel to the shore. Its a nice area to take family.
Half-finished park, with a rocky beach, mini playground, sidewalks, and industrial structure. There is also a pump track in that huge gravel flat area, but not on the map yet.
Really neat old factory with refining tanks outside.
Great park. Perfect for families
I lost my keys here but ended up finding them
The waterfront parks in Bellingham are some of our favorite places to go. Its exciting to see the beginnings of another one. Not a lot to do yet, but theres tons of potential with this huge space. Were looking forward to watching it progress.
It is beautiful. No Public bathrooms.
This park has some nice features, including the giant metallic sphere thats illuminated in a lovely blue light, and especially the track made for riding bikes & other fun things with wheels to ride, with lots of jumps. I personally have never used it but I think its an important outlet for kids, teens & young adults to have available to them. It looks like its still under construction and would be nice to see more plants, landscaping & possibly a play area for kids or even a small rollerblading rink (there seems to be enough room)!
Good parking. Interesting playground. Lovely water front park with Rocky beach. Would prefer there to be public restrooms. Especially for Mamas and babies.
Lots to do for families. Pump track is great, playground is fun, beach is nice. Lots of parking.
Great functional start to a well though through design. This place will develop and only get better.
Cant wait to enjoy it more. Super cute park! Beautiful view and nice area to walk around in. Nice beach. Good place for kids.
Fun park for the kids. Surface is a compact sealed foam, so kids can run barefoot. The stacked logs and poles make for fun free play for kids.Biggest issue is the teenagers who constantly smoke IN and ON the playground.
Great park. Thekids had a lot of fun. There is a small dirt bike track to ride on. The park is within walking distance of the waterfront with a great view.
Nice location with beach access to the water.
Jolly good work Bellingham
Like this park a lot and its not even finished. Way to go City of Bellingham for creating what I can see will become a popular destination on the waterfront.
Its really cool what they have done with the old GP plant. Im looking forward to seeing the park further developed. It could be an amazing place for people to hang out at in the future.
Though the surrounding area is still under construction, what is done now is wonderful. A simple kids play area, a cool artistic attraction, and of course waterfront make this a fun destination.Once businesses and hopefully bathrooms open up I will most likely give this 5 stars.
Has a park for kids to play. The pump track is down here as well. Great place to ride.
Many things to do, great views, great location, minimal traffic so it feels safe
Bellinghams newest park is award-winning and for a good reason. The views, interactive structures and walkways are magnificent. What a huge improvement and boon for the city! Take a book or a picnic or just make time for a stroll.
Had a memorial car meet for my friend and it was absolutely perfect.
Waypoint is way cool.
Small but very cool park for ages from Id say 3-10yrs. Rated for 5-12 on the signage. Cool for kids who like to climb, and the nearby Pebble Beach area is good for all ages. Nice variety of seating around three playground too.
Beautiful waterfront new park in Bellingham. Bring the kids!
A nice surprise after sun down thake a picture it light up
Bikers rejoice in a badass public bike park and dual lane pumptrack.
Waypoint park has not only a great playground, greenspace, and beach, but is also home to Bellinghams latest and greatest pumptrack from ShireBuilt. Lots of great line options, strider bike compatible, everything from beginner pump sections to boostable tables and hips. Just about anyone on any bike can find something to ride, and have a blast. Highly recommended.
Very cute little place to take photos
Beautifully put together. The pebble beach is adorable, comfortable and sweet. The playground is set up in a way to really get the childrens motor skills up. Loved the feel.
Pretty cool park and awsome bike track that has been set up
Very nice quiet area to walk your pet. There is a playground area for the children. Lots of room and parking. Very accessible. Great park.
Waste of tax money. Kids cant slide down the slide, you slip down the rubber hill trying to get to the slide, and the log jam is slippery dangerous. Horrible design.
Nice if you want to do BMX riding, but have to be very careful of used needles lying around the beach.
Really nice place to relax and unwind
Its a work in progress, but its still nice and peaceful. Theres a small area for kids to climb on, and benches to sit and look at the small inlet of water
A few trails through ugly vacant lots full of extra construction supplies and weeds. 3.5 million dollars for concrete blocks and chain link fence?
Beautiful place
Great slide...love the acid ball and grass...no restroom:(
We had a lot of fun at this park! The beach near by was great, too! I couldnt find bathrooms though, that would help!
New park so but much here yet but the bike pump track is awesome
Nice waterfront park with playground. Lots of goose poop everywhere. But it is the waterfront, to be expected.
I was across the cannel from there
Great spot for a first kiss.
Love this quiet corner in the city - and there is lots of parking!
Fun location by the bay for kids to play.
Its beautiful, unique and just feels good to be able to enjoy a new part of Bellingham.
Great spot hopefully cool things come in here foof wise
Nice and coming along. Not done yet! New park.
Cool to have waterfront access in this part of town. Mostly roads and gravel lot?
Waypoint Park is a new park in Bellingham and is sort of becoming the focal point for the new downtown waterfront development. When all is said and done Waypoint Park will connect with trails that follow the waterfront to Fairhaven. The park is nautical themed including blue anti break your arm rubber padding under the playground equipment that is reminiscent of water.
Great view, an awesome place to take the kids.
So glad theyve opened this park behind the Granary building. Harcourt is doing a great job with development of the waterfront. Its a nice walk and a great view of the Bay and of Downtown. As of July 2018, the playground isnt open yet, though it looks like it will be beautiful when it opens.
Its going to be awesome once its complete.
Great place
Cool park. Beautiful views. Currently surrounded by construction but will eventually be a real jewel
My kids loved this water front park. Very unique play structure!
Just open expanse. And an acid ball
Simple structure with upgraded features. Wasnt too sure upon looking at it. The kids enjoyed bouncing and sliding on the foam like surface, climbing the wood pieces and the slide.
Nice view, the bike park will be nice when its finished
Should be pretty nice when th building and bathrooms are ready. Would be nice to have public transit in the area.
