Ive been coming to Skate City since I was eight years old. I went from going to day camp to coming as an adult and even worked for the Franks. Dave, Michelle, and Kaila are some of the most kind-hearted people. They get to know you on a personal level, and you become apart of the Skate City Family! They provide a fun secure environment for the whole family! If youre looking for a more mature music night no worries they have an Adult Night catered for adult fun! Thank you, Dave, Michelle, and Kaila for letting us become apart of your family, youve impacted our lives in an amazing way.
Its the only roller rink left in the Omaha metro area, so for that they get 4 stars. Otherwise, they dont do much upkeep on the rentals. Each time Ive gone here, Ive had to change skates out multiple times or ask for tools to tighten or loosen wheels, trucks, plates/frames, etc. People regularly gather in standing groups on the skating floor along the walls and in the entrance/exit areas. Its a bit chaotic with people going in every direction and the floor guards dont seem to do much other than skate with their friends. But again, at least it exists and appears to be thriving. Plenty of games for kids to play as well.
Kids had a blast. Prices arent awful especially in terms of how normal this makes the kids feel
This places smells horrific. Its the first thing I noticed after payment was already made in which I was then able to walk through the doors that lead to the rink. Had this been known before payment, I would have turned right back around and left. I brought my nephew to this place to skate. He was struggling, so I went to rent a trainer for him. I walked up to the counter and asked to rent one and the owner responded with, I dont have any trainers for adults right now. The lady next to him laughed and walked away. I explained to him that it wasnt for me. A tad bit judgmental ya think...
They need to add more variety to their music list!
I had a good time!-Aaron Hunt-
I had a blast it was the best thing I ever did you sould go
I cant speak to the experience that kids here have, since Ive never set foot inside, but I can say that my little sister-in-law loves coming here every weekend. In addition to their regular skating hours, Skate City also occasionally has special events like all-night skates. I dont like waking up at 6 in the morning to pick her up, but my little sister enjoys the whole thing :PFinally, Ill note that there is usually an employee out directing traffic when theyre closing, keeping the kids safe from us crazy adults that just want to get back home!
Skate city is an old building with lots of scrapes, dents, layers of paint and smells but well taken care of. I give it 5 stars because the people who run it work their butt off to provide a hard to sell product. Clever well thought out skating programs designed to simply get people to enjoy skating and nothing else. We love the wednesdays toddler skate and they are great with kids and they cant possibly make any money doing it. One of the few wholesome activities left around so dont be embarrassed, go skate.
Went to skate city and bought a pair of skates for my girlfriend. Easiest process ever and they came 3 days before he projected. Then i came back and bought wheels for my skates and found out my bearings were trash. I got new bearings and Elijah, the manager, took care of me and installed my new bearings and wheels. I love skate city. Definitely a place to get right if skating is life. #NoCap
They aren’t enforcing the citywide mask mandate for one! The floor is particle board with some kind of vinyl on top, which is ripped in places bumpy from water damage and also has holes. Cellphones are allowed on the floor so you’ll have oblivious people staring at their screens running into you from behind if you don’t watch your back. Not a good experience, we will not be back.
My absolute favorite place to skate since they closed skate zone in Lincoln
Kids have fun safe place to go
It was decent. Not too expensive. Its the only skate rink left in the omaha area to my knowledge so this is your option. Pretty family friendly.
This place really brings the community together. Its very welcoming and they do a great job helping to guide our young generation.
We booked a party and had so much fun! Our hostess was awesome and had a wonderful attitude, the pizza wasnt that great but it was still fun for everyone ♡
Had a great time with the kids the concession stand girl Lily had an attitude but still managed to do her job even tho she left the cash register open to go get change smh.
It was really fun and the staff is pretty nice the place is clean and to set up a party is easy. Thank you for the fun time and see you tomorrow
This is THE place to go for roller hockey, and not just because its the only place in omaha. The coaches perfectly balance fun, and discipline. I owe a lot of my sons personal and physical growth to Dave, Elijah, and the other wonferful coaches and employees who work here.
This place was very fun to go to. Its clean and well managed, and the employees were very good at keeping the place organized. I recomend it for a fun time!
Great place to skate.
So fun it’s a cool place to bring your kids or friends
Good family fun. Bring cash. The snack bar is cash only and the ATM has a $3 charge
The workers there touch the food with their bare hands. Hot dogs, buns, pizza and the ingredients. Its flu season and even if it wasnt ... food handlers are Supposed to wear plastic gloves. How do I know those teeny boppers washed their hands before leaving the bathroom?!!!
Always fun and everyone is friendly.
This was our first time coming here last night My son had a school event; it was fun ..cool lights+music everyone was super nice the reason I took off one star was because they stopped selling food a little before 8 :-( most likelyWill come back
Staff was helpful and kind. Very clean and up kept with great music and people
It was okay.. lost change in the shotty lockers and in a video game. Music selection for an advertised family event on Sunday was inappropriate most of the time. The rinks general appearance is just beat up.
Clean and reasonable price
Had one of the kids birthday party there. Was OK place. Make sure you have what you need before you go in because going out and coming back in is a pain if there are people waiting to get in for the open skates etc....
Theyre working on incremental upgrades. Because of the venue sometimes during the teen nights it can get a little seedy. There have been fights in the parking lot and cops called. But their day camp is helpful. They are hiring younger kids who arent quite as watchful as in the past, but my kids are pre teens and its a good day camp for them.
My wife and I took our granddaughter there and she had a great time, all the staff was Awsome! Well be back!
Safe clean environment. I took my daughter there for schools night out, my 8 year old had fun skating while listening to updated fun music. My friend and I chit chated and played a race car game and foos ball.
Great place if you have kids or want to skate
Food was horrible. Any place full of kids is a dirty germ pool. Kids had fun though
Nice to get some exercise during the winter can be skating
This place is a piece of history. My oldest son goes on the weekends and my youngest has attended the summer daycare program. They both love the place. I feel comfortable as a parent trusting the staff to make sure my kids are well taken care of.The staff is always more than nice and really interact with the children. In todays world, its tough to find somewhere safe for our children to go.I would absolutely recommend you check it out!
Fun place to take the kids.
Had a birthday party there ice cream was nastyso if youre going to have a birthday party there bring your own ice cream it was melted and nasty not even one of our kids would eat it
We have taken our son here many times for school skating parties, and every time we go we are blown away by how friendly their staff is. The place is always clean and the prices are quite reasonable. Keep up the good work!!!
We had a great time! It was really fun!
I have mixed feeling about this place. I enjoyed going every friday until I was about 14, and i was waiting to be old enough to apply for a job but once i found out that girls have a lower pay and only allowed to work the food bar while as the guys have a higher pay and more auportunities on the job, i stopped going altogether.
Good place for the family and a great day camp for school aged kids. Owner and staff are always friendly.
Amazing staff and amazing roller rink with really nice food too.
Please watch the little walkers you rent for your small children ppl help themselves to them after you have paid for them and happen to leave it unoccupied for a second! Yes ppl they steal them so be careful!
Great family friendly place to take the kids!
My daughter has been an avid attendee for 6yrs, love it!
This was a nice, inexpensive way to get the kids out of the house on a 90°+ day. We had a lot of fun.
Had a blast! The young lady in concessions was AMAZING!!!
Inexpensive and my daughter loves going here
As I skate here almost every weekend, this place is one of the best places for friends and family, you can plan any event here. This place to skate is just amazing over all.
Gud music friendly staff and amazing for kids
The rink its self is awesome. Prices are good expect the nasty pizza that I paid 12 dollars for. Taste like eating crackers with sauce and cheese. Never again would I buy that. Waste of money..
Dj sure isnt mustard on the beat but its legit if you ever skate it! Haha jk this place is awesome all around!!!!!
Ive been here quite a few times but its been a while. What are the busiest times/days to come? Trying to have a birthday party for my son.
Great customer service with handling a birthday party of 5-6 year olds. They did everything they could to make my birthday girl feel special on her birthday. Super helpful staff in explaining the rules and how the party is to run smoothly!! Thank you.
It was a fun birthday party event we attended. My only issue was some holes and hasty repairs on the north wall that could cause some issues to any skater. My girls had a great time and keep asking when we can go back!
I hurt my self but I love everything in there
It was nice, they like to nickle and dime you for the little things youd think would be included, but all in all a good experience
Great place to enjoy with the family.
Fun but not like how it was when i was a kid
The staff are the best.I will be back for sure.Great time.
Its a pretty good place to stay because they got good food. But is in the middle of nowhere does look abandon. And wasnt answered to immediately. Had to wait for 10 to 15 mins.
Lots of fun here. Had a blast. Took my family and they had a blast also. Music was AWESOME and they even stop to clean the floor to eliminate unnecessary falls due to debris on the skating rink. At the end of the night they even offered half-price hotdogs. Really enjoyed my visit. They also offer an 18 and up night twice a month
This establishment has went way down hill. The bathrooms arent kept up like they should with kids being present. Also seen a few roaches by food center. Ill never take my kids back.
Love this place !!!
Inexpensive, safe, clean and fun place for everyone. Fun for all ages and super friendly staff. A very nice gem of Bellevue for sure.
Skating is a timeless way for the kids to have fun and get some exercise year round. Amazing summer camp program, and all year hockey leagues keep my boys there non stop.
Erica Perez is a wonderful person. Lucky to know this lady and to watch her interact with the kids.
Parents skate free on Saturdays 1100-1300. Good pricw, friendly staff, crowd is well mannered. Usually not crowded at all. Only gave four stars because the skate floor is a little bit lumpy. Otherwise a really good experience and a great value.
My grandma threaned to call the cops on some kid and I just wanna apologize. Really good place tho visit frequently with friends...
This place is a Bellevue institution. The building and carpet might have been new in 1969, but the staff is very friendly and its not too expensive
Soon to be the only public place to roller skate in Omaha Ne. Wonderful people good music great fun and good exercise
Great cheap family fun
My kids grew up skating here and now they will be taking my grandchildren here. Great place for family fun! Great for any occasion. They also have hockey and a lot of holiday free skating.
Great staff
We had a birthday party here. They provided awesome service. A party helper kept everything running smoothly, helped clean up and even helped each guest get cake. I was told by many children, This is the best party ever!
Its been my favorite place to skate as a child
Nice place to get your skate on. Its a basic roller rink, no extra frills here. Staff was wonderful, kids had a good time.
Fun place for kids and adults alike.
Its like a piece of my childhood, preserved for my children to enjoy. We had a great time for hours. Awesome value, we will definitely come back.
Skate City night for LeMay was fun. My son won a free skating pass as a prize. We skated alot, played some games and redeemed some tickets for a few toys. Fun night! :-)
It was clean, the staff is very friendly and the consession prices are reasonable. Between skating and playing games the children had a blast. Will visit again.
Granddaughter loves skating. Nice staff
Its funny and fun u skate around play games
Would be nice if more 80s, 90s were mixed in instead of being moslty top 40.
It isnt t too expensive also is super fun. But they dont have half sizes so be prepared
Good staff good music
If you go during the day its a very fair price for skating. Parents are free on Saturdays from 1100-1300 which is awesome. The concession stand food is lacking, but to me its not that big of a deal since we dont eat there. If you do plan eating there bring cash, they dont accept cards at the food stand. The floor itself needs some love, very uneven in multiple spots, due to high wear and tear (especially with the hockey leagues). The atmosphere is what youd expect for a skating rink. There hasnt been many updates. It does smell like dirty feet but its a roller skating rink so Im not sure what else youd expect? My kids love the skating lessons offered, Dave is great with the kids. One thing that that I wish they would do is change their playlists. THey literally play the same list of songs every single day at the exact same time. When we went every Saturday I could tell you the line up of the songs (it was sad). Be warned if you go during peak hours (Fri, Sat nights or special events) you will be overwhelmed with teenagers who act like teenagers.
Wish you werent a cash only place! But we had so much fun!
Had fun time with familyGreat price
This place was okay. Probably will not be back. Not impressed that the little play area costed extra to play on. We didnt realize it cost extra for our children to play in the play area and went ahead and let our kids play on it. While my kids were playing on it, one of the employees told my kids in a rude manner they need to get out now unless they had $3.00 to pay. This could have been something she could have told us instead of my children. When we mentioned another child that was in there that did not have the stamp that was needed to play on there, she than went and grabbed the stamp and stamped her hand as it was her own child. It is nice you can bring your child to work with you but it needs to be fair as well. The music needs to be better and more upbeat songs. The rink itself had tiny rocks on the floor. It was not very clean. Ticket machine was jammed. Games were okay and all seemed to work.
This rink doesnt have wood floors, so right off the bat it wasnt my favorite. We went on a Saturday which I presume is for a younger crowd. They stopped intermittently for games and special skate directions such as girls only, reverse direction etc. The music choice was admittedly underwhelming though mainly songs from the early 2000s. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, I think this place is great for younger children.
Love it brings back memories, fun place small snack bar just like when i was a kid.
Skate City is a great place for the whole family! The roller rink provides many deals and fundraisers for local schools, various open skate times, Toddler Skate (2-6 years) on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, skating classes and many levels of inline hockey...children to adult! My children ages 5-9 all play hockey in a great skill-learning environment. The owner and coach is one of the best of any sport my children have played for. I highly recommend!
Fun and enjoyable the staff was curtious.
