Took my two year daughter, she absolutely loved it. Mike is a wild tiger in a large, natural, outdoor habitat, with an indoor portion. He is not forced or coerced to be outside, and when he is outside, there are areas that can make it difficult to see him. My point is this: it is a beautiful habitat to observe the tiger in, but you do need patience as he may not be out or be easily visible. But when he is, it is definitely worth the wait.
A good quick stop if you are in the area. Not worth a special trip unless, of course, you are an LSU fan. If so, then a pilgrimage here is obligatory if you are able. Children will like it too.
Hes gorgeous and his living quarters are well for such a pampered loved tiger.
Mike was pacing a lot but finally decided to show off his majestic self.
Mikes habitat was clean and a beautiful place so he can enjoy being the mascot!
Mike is the mascot and the habitat is super dope. The habitat also has a cool place to study as the shade covers over a bench or two.
Interesting, good to see something you dont see every day.
This is a wonderful exhibit that shows the actual tiger in his enclosure. It is near the stadium and on campus to that it is easy to get to. There is plenty of parking nearby and it allows lots people to see Mike. It is one of the best places to see a tiger up close. Both times that I stopped by the enclosure, Mike was outside and sitting on the rock making picture taking easy. I think this is a must see for anyone in the area.
A must see in Baton Rouge. The entire sports complex right there. This place oozes tradition and is quite spectacular to just take in.
It was ok but i dont think i would like being alone all the time looking out at the rest of the world
So adorable, Mike the tiger! Lets keep up with the good spirit! Thanks!!
Mike was a very gentlemanly tiger who generously placed himself near one of the windows so that everyone could see and appreciate him properly. He was extremely beautiful, and posed nobly for the camera. Its a little morbid, though, that the future Mikes are already written up on the wall, even though this Mike has not passed yet...
The enclosure is immaculate! Mike is a beautiful beast!! You should stop by!
Mandatory stop if visiting LSUs campus. Not far off the interstate if youre passing through and want a good place to stretch your legs.
ROAR! Geaux Tigers!!! LSU
Great place to see Mike the Tiger every day. Geaux Tigers!!!
One of my favorite things in Baton Rouge!!
Cool place to stop and see LSUs mascot.
Got a chance to see begal Tiger. His Name is mike and very energetic. LSU is proud of their mascot as Begal Tiger. It is believed that the roar of tiger heard all around the stadium on the game day. Its attacks lots of young children visitors with its active behaviors.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED watching Mike do his thing! I could watch Mike on Live Stream if I could! Hes so active!
An awesome experience to see Mike that close
Mike was hiding but a very nice thing to see and experience
I love going to the campus and walking around Mikes habitat and reading the history of the mascot.
Mikes home is an impressive Habitat and each time I go, he is usually out and about. I enjoy the gift shop next door as well. The campus is beautiful and this area is no exception with decorative tiles featuring donors and honoring lsu contributors. There is a big bronze statue that my boy loves. There are helpful plaques around the habitat that discuss Mike and tiger info. Parking is tough. Dont expect to drive up to it. We couldnt find any visitor parking anywhere on campus and instead had to park in the grocery store parking lot across the street. This was parking for the retail shops only but after driving around for 30 minutes and having to u turn when running into parking gates, we were willing to take the chance.
Doing a cross country road trip stopping and seeing Mike the tiger was definitely one of the highlights you can part close and there is a very clear view of the tiger and and his habitat. Go Gators!
Went early on a Sunday morning, and there were still several people there. Spent the better part of an hour ooohing and aahing over his playfulness and that lovely habitat.
Hiw can you not love getting to see Mike...even from a distance.
You have to stop and see this beautiful tiger if your in the area.
Came to see the complete dismantling of Texas A&M and enjoyed every second of seeing Burrow rip through these guys. The Tiger Habitat is amazing, and Tiger Stadium is the place to be on a Fall Saturday night. What an experience. Cant wait to get back.
Always fun seeing Mike. Especially since he is a younger version and very spunky. He was extremely playful. He was playing in the water and looking through the glass. He got very up close and personal. We visit here often.
Great home for Mike VII. Geaux Tigers!!!
Mike is a good sport. Hes the local bengal(?) tiger which is LSUs mascot. He lives in a nice habitat accessible to the public to come admire such a majestic animal. He was up and about and lounged around. He actually looked at me turning his head 180 degrees when I called him. I was not aware how pointed and chiseled a tigers head is from its profile and how round it is when it faces you. Because he is relatively close behind two wire mesh fences you can feel his presence. If you are in the area drop by, you will enjoy it. The students are scurrying to and from places, however, my daughter asked a young lady to take photos and she was impressively kind and attractive.
Just an outstanding facility!
We enjoyed seeing that beautiful tiger. He is living good.
Looks nice by night but we didn’t see Mike
Fun place to come and feel proud of LSU. Also seeing Mike is really fun!
While I have never been crazy about keeping wild animals in captivity, I must admit that LSU did a fantastic job creating a comfortable and beautiful habitat for Mike VII. The University spent over 3 million dollars raised from private donations in 2005 to improve the habitat. It is truly impressive. The latest Mike moved in in August 2017. While in the Baton Rouge area, Mike the tigers habitat is a must stop.
Me and my family are huge lsu fans, and i know im one of the people that love animals the most. seeing this beautiful tiger in such a glorious habitat was a dream come true and the nostalgia coming back to me from years before. one of my favourite parts aside from the cage and everything inside was the engraved names and words in the ground. i wasnt able to stay long though since sadly it was too crowded and we had more plans and less time.
Super cute! Fun family time :)
Mike is a wonderful cat and mascot of our college and state. I feel he is lonely though. I wish there was a way we could get him more interaction and connection with people
Great exhibit and habit for Mike the Tiger! He is outside 24/7 for the most part, but he might be further back in the habit sometimes so he can be hard to see. He is definitely well cared for and living a good life here. If you are in the area it is definitely a free must see location! Parking spots for anyone with an LSU parking permit open up after 4:30pm, but I am not sure which spots are available for the general public.
Just great to see Mike. Enjoyed seeing him in his habitat.
Very clean environment indeed. No way this tiger is b
Love being able to visit the tiger. The habitat and surrounding areas are always clean.
Only place on LSU campus worth visiting. Mike is a magnificent animal.
This a spectacular habitat and a magnificent animal. Highly recommend to visit if you are around baton rouge LA.
Let me start off by saying.. I am not an LSU fan. Im a Clemson girl. However my Daddy is a die-hard LSU Tiger. So enroute to New Orleans we detoured so he could show my son Mike. Great place for memories to be made!
Love it been a LSU fan for ever Mike is so big
Beautiful place and such a handsome and beautiful tiger!
He is absolutely gorgeous. It is really easy to see him, walking around, swimming, playing, or taking naps.
He was awake and magnificent!
Theres nothing cooler than having a live tiger on your schools campus. Mike is so playful and beautiful to watch!
Parking was tough and it was crowded when we went but still a fun, free attraction.
Awesome to get to see Mike up close and personal! The kids loved it!
I do love visiting Mike, and it was a very busy day, the Sunday after a good win against an SEC rival. Mike was out and about, prowling and lazing in the shade. Lots of children running around trying to get a peek.Mike has a beautiful habitat, and lives better than most humans. I do wish LSU would get him a friend; its gotta be lonely at times being the only tiger in there.
Short walk from parking to Habitat, gift shop really close so we could cool down on a hot day. Benches close so you could observe Mike and a few photo ops...
I really enjoyed seeing Louisiana State Universitys live mascot on display and how well they take care of him...its nice to see the more humane ways of taking care of these beautiful animals...the school also has plenty of information on Tigers and the history of their mascots
What a wonderful new home Mike the tiger has! He is beautiful. His fur looked so soft. He was laying on his side chilaxin when we saw him.
Mike was pretty playful when we visited. He was up and running around because of a roller blades. Got some great photos.
Big Cat. Took forever to find but when you big cat
Loved seeing Mike for the first time. He is impressive. I couldnt take my eyes away from him, but we had to go.
I must tell you, Mike has a very beautiful and well taken care of Habitat. He is such a majestic well loved animal. This was our first time seeing the new Mike and we were not disappointed. He is very active and seemed to love the attention of every one. Great job LSU..... GEAUX TIGERS!!!
We love stopping by to see Mike! Beautiful tiger and beautiful enclosure.
My kids loved this place. I will definetly be going back!
A must do if youre in the area! Mike the Tiger was awesome, it was playful and fun. He even came by the windows to get selfies!
I love this tiger habitat.
While Mike is hard to see sometimes (depending on where hes napping) it is a beautiful enclosed habitat that is better than all the other tiger exhibits at zoos that Ive been to. There are informative plagues at each window with interesting tiger facts. You can tell that LSU loves their Mike!
Great experience for free!
Out of town family enjoyed seeing Mike. He was out of his cage and sat up looking around. He is so beautiful.
Coolest cat since Garfield. I asked his personal photographer when hes going to come out and say hi. His reply when he damn well pleases. Hes the boss. Not us.
Of COURSE visiting Mike is the best! Everyone should go see Mike
Beautiful environment for a beautiful animal
We love visiting Mike the Tiger! Hes more likely to be up and about during night fall. If you visit during the day, hes probably sleeping.
It was an awesome experience to see Royal Bengal Tiger in the US
So wonderful watching the tiger here
This is a great place to visit on the LSU campus. Very interesting. Hard to describe, but if you are in the area you should take a few minutes to stop by. A fascinating animal.
Visiting Mike is always the highlight of my day
This new enclosure is a beautiful and spacious environment. My first time visiting. Still a little saddened by the fact that he was just pacing back and forth along the side fence. Hoping that is not his daily routine and he utilizes the whole space.
Mike is a happy cat. He has so much room at this gorgeous enclosure. He smiles for the camera! Find your brick at the habitat, for those families and fans that donated for building Mikes home!
Beautiful enclosure for Mike! Geaux Tigers!
Geaux Tigers! Love Mike!
Kids enjoyed viewing Mike the tiger! Pics turned out very nice too!
Mike was not in the mood for company the day we visited ️ at least we got to see him laying down in the sweltering heat!!
Mike was taking a nap, so hard to see.
Mike is an icon mascot and his home at LSU is great to visit but theres not much to do but watch Mike walk about!.
Interesting history about Mike. Its a beautiful habitat and he is obviously well cared for.
Its a beautiful habit and easy to get to. They have a gift shop next to it as well.
What a beautiful home for a beautiful big cat!
