Love the dog park, theres usually a really good pack there. it gets busy around sundown especially on the weekends and Sundays are always super busy. The trails are so fun and easy to walk, well maintained (but be careful after a rain it gets muddy). Theres a sweet playground, some tennis courts, and a couple enclosed baseball fields as well as a cute little pond with 3 ducks where you can fish. Its pretty well lit at night (except for the trails and the dog park closes at dusk). We always come out to walk the dog, go to the dog park, play PoGo, whatever. My family loves it!
Went here to vote early for the 2020 election. Seemed like a nice, clean park. Well taken care of even during these less than optimal times. Good place for the kids with even some things I was tempted to climb/play on.
Great place to take the kids and meet new people, kind people, ones that care for children. I really enjoyed myself, and my grandson enjoyed his self so much that we will go back very soon. We started out looking for a fishing spot and we saw the park and plans changed, so glad we did!
I love my community park. I used to work at the tennis Center, I walk there regularly. Todays visit was to the rec center which is being used as a voting precinct.
Beautiful park with a pond and walking trails. Looks like they added a new 0.5mile nature trail. Didnt go this time but will check it out next time for sure.
Its a nice park and was super packed because of voting so welcome everyone til the 27th for early voting
Beautiful park. Had a fun picnic here with my best friends
This park is a very nice, clean, peaceful atmosphere. I take morning walks there and I feel safe doing so. people are walking their dogs in the designated area. playing Tennis. Kids plY at the Playland and every one seems to be happy. I Love coming to this park
Beautiful park, really kept up. Only problem is some of the road has serious potholes, has a potential to pop your tires or bend your rims. Also some of the speed bump are torn apart. Other than that we enjoy going there.
Me and my boyfriend go here a lot and we walk through the nature trails as hes taking pictures on his camera. We love walking through the woods and seeing different kinds of bugs.
My dog and I had a wonderful time at the dog park today. It was overcast and breezy which allowed the dogs to really run themselves out with over heating. We also walked around the lake and saw a few nice joggers and a group of kids that loved to pet the dog as we stopped then finished our walk. The park has many amenities like the dog parks (one for big dogs and one for the little ones), excellent tennis courts, basketball court indoors, and MA y pavilions for family events or just a lunch in the park.
Beautiful area, well maintained with walking trail, sports fields and a childs water area.
Ammending my review from 5 stars to 3 as there is now a cut-through on one side of the park funneling a lot of traffic through it now. There are always a lot of cars, travelling much too fast, not heeding pedestrians, kicking up dust from the new unfinished road and making the air smell like exhaust. The kid side of the park is still fine, but avoid the dog park side if youre a walker; its dangerous and unpleasant now.
Grounds kept didnt see alot of trails road closed but could be more benches, picnic tables, and shadings for family gatherings.
I love to watch my dogs have fun; and they have fun here. Its big enough for Bitsies Chuck-It runs fully to the south and north with room to spare. East is about half that distance. The sidewalk surrounding the dog park gives Bo plenty of exercise pacing runners, walkers, strollers with babies, and cyclists. When the sidewalk is clear, Bo hangs out near the south fence which borders the small dog park. The latter is about one-third the size of the big park; and has only one covered concrete pad with a picnic table. It also has a park bench. The main park has two of the covered picnic tables, equidistant apart, and three park benches. Both parks have a concrete pad away from the covered tables with a tall water faucet and fountain, and at least one plastic baby pool. Waste bags and waste-only receptacles are readily available. The big park has an extra picnic table thats uncovered; and a smaller water fountain area at the In/Out spot. All covered areas have a time or light-sensitive light that doesnt always work. Since the park is open from dawn to dusk, the lights should not be a problem. Other rules for the park include: no food or drink, no smoking; and no children under 12.
Not enough shade trees around parking lot. Beautiful other wise.
Its pretty good walk around the lake, I think its better walk in mornings time. You can found ducks near the lake so its nice. If you have children this park has enough space and it is beautiful too. So I can say this is one of my favorites park
Voting line moved steadily took 38 minutes to vote.
Nice fishing ponds and beautiful walking trails.
Great place to bring the kids. Well shaded & alot of space to run around.
Nice park to take a walk and have a sit with a friend
Wonderfully maintained park with several walking trails and recreation facilities.
Good location, large area, clean and well kept
Love this park its beautiful and very clean!!
This is such a great park...they have a splash pad for the summer months, a jungle gym, swings, cargo net and a small rock wall your youngsters can climb. Theres a beautiful nature trail, pond, tennis court and ball fields. A great place to take the family for a cheap and memory making day.
Discussed with bathrooms trash everywhere but only one lazy employee alous this to happen. The rest of the time its clean.
Really great dog park. There are water stations, a couple little splash pools, and always plenty of dogs for your pooch to run with. It would be nice if there was a sidewalk perimeter so the owners could walk but one cant have everything!
For a Saturday afternoon the park wasnt overly crowded. The splash pad was up and running, everyone there was courteous and mostly kept to themselves. What loses a star was the restrooms. They were incredibly dirty, smelled to high heaven, and had no soap or toilet paper. We will plan on going back however, just with our own toiletries.
I LOVE this park. Walking, hiking paths, tennis courts, playground equipment, even a separate dog park. Whether you want to have a picnic, jog, walk through the trees, toss around a frisbee, or just hang out theres plenty of room. Its well maintained, clean, safe, and family friendly. But try to keep it our little secret.
Its a lovely park with something for everyone. Personally, I enjoy afternoon walks around the park. Its perfect for those trying to earn their daily steps with plenty of signage around to track how far ones walked. Children can enjoy the play grounds and splash pad while people of all ages can venture towards the tennis courts, fishing pond, and dog parks. Community Center (as of June 2019) is being renovated.
Cool little park. Good parking. They stocked rainbow trout. Cool experience. They have a dog park too. Did not experience.
Since relocating to Baton Rouge, La this by far is the best park i have lived near in my community in a long while. I can take my large dog and place him in the huge fenced area to run an play with other medium to large dogs. AND I can take my little dog and place him in the small dogs fenced in area to play with other dogs similar in size. Theres always poop bags to encourage visitors to clean up behind their pets with a convenient disposal can just below and lots of water bowls and even a few kid sized pools for the dogs to play in when really hot as it always is here! The park also has a very nice walking / jogging trail for those that wish to do so with their dogs or alone for exercise. There is a baseball field, really neat and clean picnic areas and a kids play area, recreational center and very nice tennis courts! Definitely would recommend this place to outdoor enthusiasts since it even has a small pond for fishing. Park rangers are present which is always a good thing!
Comfortable walking paths and dog park. I like to let the dogs play and do the walk path after so they can dry off since there is usually a dog pool in the the dog Park area.
This is our favorite park to take our dogs.
Only went to fish in the pond, when it was stocked with rainbow trout. Didnt go for the dog park or tennis courts. But the park is very nice. Very open if you want to go walk.
I love bringing my son and dog here to play. Wonderful open space with a dog area and a play ground.
Forest community park is a really nice family friendly park to include your fur family members. A great place to picnic, get a great workout in and just about anything else you might want to do at this park. Theres a nice splash pad for the kids and the staff does an AWESOME job with the maintenance of the park. Its a place where you can go to relax and feel safe.
Decent BREC park. Fairly well kept. Have seen numerous school buses drop of droves of kids on several occasions. Not sure if it is a field trip hotspot or what. Good place to bring your dog for a walk, or to the dog park. Also nice tennis facility and pond for relaxing/fishing.
Great place to play frisbee and soccer
Nice, my kids really have fun
Lots of space, a stocked pond and a well maintained dog park. Would love more walking trails through the woods.
Kids enjoyed the lil water area
Wonderfully open area with plenty of room for children to burn their unceasing energy! My family loved it
Awesome experience!! Beautiful park!! Very peaceful and serene!!
A great park thats well maintained. Ive brought my daughters here since they were toddlers and they always have a good time. Splash pad is usually crowded, and there arent enough swings, but thats to be expected.
Its a park.. no matter whos there you can always pick out someone who creepy AF.. hopefully youre not that guy. Theres a sign that says the pond is stocked with rainbow trout. Not only do I not believe theres a rainbow colored trout in there, I didnt see any colored fish at all IE: 1 fish 2 fish, red fish, blue fish... There are definitely turtles though, however before you get excited, none of them seem to have ninja skills.
Awesome little park with trails
My first time there. My pooch enjoyed running around, making friends with the other dogs that were there.
Love the dog park. My dog loves coming here. She loves the pool of water they have out for the dogs to get water.
Its was a great experience. Pleasant an peacefull. Will be my #1 go to spots to enjoy with the family.
Love it! Awesome walking trails are awesome! You have three to choose from. Its clean, dog friendly, and children have lots to do!
Other than the speeding cars that fly through there. They really need to have security or cop sit out there to stop the cars that fly through there.
This park is one of my favorites. There is a nice splash pad, kids play area with a non messy floor, dog park, well kept tennis courts, and nice pathways.
Good place to bring kids to play
Its a really nice park. Lots of AstroTurf, though, so wear long sleeves if you want to avoid rugrash
My favorite park!
Great playground area for children. The tennis courts are excellent (but not free). Dog park, fishing pond, walking trail, baseball fields, splash pad. If you are looking for any of those things, this is the spot for you.
This park is wonderful. Its an awesome park experience for kids. It has really cool play equipment, including a spider web to climb through, a splash pad to cool down, covered picnic areas and a separate dog park. Wonderful Place...
Nice clean well cared for place!
I love this park!!! Great place to play Pokemon Go
Beautiful place but not enough benches for old folks to watch out for the little ones.
Beautiful and clean. Lovely playground for the kiddos!
Nice city park with a lot of different facilities for many activities.
Perfect mini get away in a busy area. Theres a huge walking trail that connects the whole park!!! Young kid wise theres not alot however there is something!!!
It is a well-maintained, much used park. Safe. Clean. Great walking and running trail.
This has always been one of our favorite spots in Baton Rouge to find peace in nature and recreation.
Breath taking;Peaceful;Wonderful area to do exercises
Very nice family park. Always clean. Water is chlorinated. My 3 year old loves it
Love the pup park. Great people many of the dogs know each other.
Clean, and well maintained .
It was nice but very busy most of the time.
Nice community park with trails, sports fields, tennis courts and a decent fenced dog park.
Good place
Dog park is okay, the walk around is nice, wish people wouldnt fish from the pond because they often leave their trash nor do they show their kids the proper way to care for animals. i once saw a young girl grabbing a turtle and swinging it by its legs while the dad laughed so i put it back in the water after taking the hook from her fishing rod out of its arm
Great park!!! Always clean, lots to do. We love the dog park specifically.
I use the dog park and walk my dog around the park. Its a really nice, clean, cared for place.
Its a great place! You can go running, do different sports, or just walk. Often you see wildlife. Its a really calming place. I love it!
Awesome places for kids adults and even dogs they have a dog park walking distance from the playground a big sprinkler set up for the kids with on site bathrooms . Walking and biking trails on gravel. And they have a huge sticker pond for fishing as well . Tennis courts and baseball fields and plenty of parking.
Its an ok place . Friendly ppl go here. Just note if you cant control your animal on a leash you cant control them w/o a leash your pet doesnt belong at the park...
Beautiful well kept and peaceful place to play, walk, picnic. Plenty amenities plus a huge dog park. Stills waiting for the gym to reopen since flood...
Fun park for both kids and dogs. They also have a pond for fishing. There are multiple tennis courts to enjoy playing on with friends. The park has an indoor room for rent to use for events or numerous outdoor pavilions to use for parties. There is also a large baseball field in the front that is rarely used. If you want to walk, there is a gravel nature trail to follow. Generally a nice park to explore.
Beautiful scenery, an amazing drive. Would love to visit again sometime
I did not see a place to ask questions? The dog park does this mean that your puppy/Dog can run and play off leash? I am looking for a place to let a 5 month old puppy run and play offleash in Denham Springs or East BR if this isnt it could someone please help tell me where one is located. She is up to date on her shots. Thank you .
Nice park, quiet and away from the highway. There is a large dog area and a small dog area. Both areas have a water station and picnic tables. The park could use more shade, but overall it is nice. Remember to clean up after your pets!
I bring my dog here at least once a week. Its very pretty, kind of small. But its perfect for the location.
Enjoyed the nice walking path
