I enjoyed the park visiting with my children had a wonderful time there playgrounds with clean
A quiet, green, well kept park. Toys available were only swings because of Covid 19.A barbeque was getting under way and a meet and greet for a politician. Nice friendly people.
The park is maintained but the tables are not. There is plenty of tent covered tables but likely not clean- suggest taking table cloth or butcher paper for table cover. Large old trees make the park well shaded.
Great place to take the kids, multiple playgrounds, and two sets of swings. One set of baby swings. The slides are three stories. Basketball courts, tennis courts. Plenty of table-benches. This park has a lot of lights at night. I recommend it, it has multiple of playgrounds different mixes. Great to take the kids! :)
Great little park to play basketball, I wish the lighting was better. Great place to have parties for kids.
Nice park good place to visit, nice shade & might be a good place for live music some day .
There was a homeless man sleeping in the big play thingy and a homeless man sleeping outside the bathrooms. Other than that my daughter had fun
Not the cleanest but great for early morning or evening lighting in Tennis courts.
Love walking this area. Peaceful and I adore the houses very welled cared for area.
What doesnt make sense to me is that they keep the water park open but close down the toys? the kids can wash their hands, and there is less likely to get sick, on the toys than running through water with a bunch of strangers. as far as policiticians are concerned. its like seeing toddlers in the sand box. with dirty diapers whinning for mommys agh... wah wah wah!
Had a wonderful time at Joshua Park first good time Ive had in a long time the kids were able to get wet and have fun just get out of the park before it gets dark Crazies come out at night over there
I like the tennis courts and the fact that they have a little obstacle course for the kids. It also has a water park whick is free fun for the kids. It is one of my favorite parks.
Nice place. Only problem was the Bees
To many bees but the grandkids liked the splash park
I still miss the pool.... still love the stage. Play area is, almost, always fully functional. Toys designed for children Over 5yr old. Some of the only real swings left in Bakersfield.Park gets real dark, after the sun set. Few more strategically placed light posts would make a huge difference.Playground is one of the cleaner ones you could expect to find these days.Hobos have become a standard here too, but they have never interrupted Me or my kids, while enjoying the park; asking for a handout, being scary/crazy/weird, or being drugged out in public.
Very nice to come out and enjoy the sun and enjoy the water on a hot sunny day
Dad military picture is on the Korean War memorial.
They still have working restrooms
Love this park, remember it as a child
Good and beautiful park but beware of some homeless people.
Jasteo.park.can.easy.be.a.five.star.par.exept.there.are.too.manny.homeless..there..
Beautiful and peaceful..
The kids had fun at the water park. There was a lot of big trees that provides shade which kept me happy. The bathrooms could of been cleaner but overall it provided its purpose.
To many homeless that will beg for money
We came to the restaurant for dinner, not a special occasion. The view outside with the Christmas Tree and all the lights is beautiful. The restaurant is all windows, so everyone can enjoy the view. Make reservations, its very busy and chances are you will not be able to just walk up for a table without a very long wait. The service was very attentive. The food was very good, we had a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their experience from cocktails to dessert. Know that the great view, service and food come with a price. For the 6 of us, each persons bill was about $100, with a drink, salad, meal and dessert. They only provide 1 bill for the table, they didnt like when we asked for separate bills - I dont like 1 table bills - it shouldnt be that hard to give each couple their bill.
Family friendly events that are important happen here.
Peaceful park and enjoy the spray park
I took my nephew to the park, he wanted to play in the water but it wasnt ready yet. I asked the workers if he could play while they tested the system. They said go for it.... He was a happy boy... Thanks guys.
Very nice and clean but l was to cold for me
Love to take my son here and play
Was nice Peaceful park to take kids, but the bathrooms are not functioning and are locked. The city sure needs to fix them and open them up especially for the kids at the water fountain play ground. Lots of benches, shady area and parking on Street.
Very nice clean and perfect for our function.
Pros: Fun place for kids. little ones Love the splash pad,and sand area. Cons: The park only has street parking, and the restrooms are extremely dirty.
Great park to take the kids out. Park is really clean and big playground.
I love this water park... Best place to throw partys.. Has electricity and water hose
Perfect for summer days kids enjoying the park and its free
Great for family gatherings and work gatherings. We had a blast.
Great park but there can be a lot of homeless people here.
It has a lot of space.
Kids loved the water park. Needs more shaded seating near playground
Its a nice quiet park to chill out
Had a good time
Great place to spend time with the kids and cool down at the splash pad and get wet
There is plenty of grass with shady old growth trees to run around on or to just sit and enjoy one of the outdoor concerts performed from the permanent bandstand. There is a large play structure as well as swings. There is even a rather large water feature to help keep cool on those sizzling Bakersfield summer afternoons.
This park is a reclaimed area, at one point in Bakersfields history you would not walk over here. With new sidewalks following the river for 2 blocks this is a great place to meet family for picnics or to play after church on Sunday. Still not a great place to go after dark and always lock your car doors. Parking can be a little tough on some days. Summers there is usually events to attend. Bakersfield Art museum is located next door but check the hours if you want to visit.
Nice, old park with large trees for shade and plenty of room to move around mingle or find a patch of grass and keep to yourself. Plenty of tables and ammenities for any outdoor festivities you may be planning. There is a small water fun zone to cool off and let the kids have fun during the HOT summer. The park is located in the Westchester subdivision very close to Mercy Hospitals downtown campus and walking distance to the downtown area and county government buildings. There is no lot for parking your vehicle so youll have to park on one of the adjacent streets. Westchester is one of the oldest affluent areas in town and the architecture of the homes and buildings is worth a stroll through the neighborhoods if youre interested in historical architecture.
Such a chill park.
Great park on Truxton. They have great tennis courts and a wall to practice solo on. I believe theres also pickleball meetups there.
Good place for swimming 50 years ago.
Kids really loved it. Nice place to beat the heat
It was hot. I love the water toys area
This is a nice park during the day I wouldnt recommend it at night. There is quite a homeless problem. Every weekend its full of people BBQing .
Water splash park goes up 4 THE KIDS in the summer. Good for a party too.
Local free waterpark, tennis courts, picnic area and memorial, great for the whole family!
Good area but larger and used at many times with different events like birthday breast awareness day. So well known Downtown park because it is near Downtown. Most people go there only if they feel to be alone or take break time from downtown.
My daughter loves it here we take the greyhound from L.A. 3hr trip to visit here..
Clean and pleasant park...playground is nice for families and friends to enjoy a day together..with all that being said they do need another bathroom and water faucet..
In the hood! Wasnt comfortable feeling at all. I felt like I had to keep looking behind me so I wouldnt get jumped. Definately not a park for kids.....more like a park for homeless people and gangs!
Big, clean park. Youll see a bum here and there but theyre pretty much everywhere.
Clean, alot of Shade, nice neighborhood.
Nice park just a bit to many bums
Liked the Spray Park!!
Kinda dirty
Took my granddaughters to the water park.. They had lots of fun.
Good place for kids to cool off on those hot summer days
Nice park. But to many bees to enjoy your visit. Grass is very dry. Overall okay without them bees attacking you
Kids running around parents there dont care several kids got hert
Fun place to meet with friends
Beautiful park, but often has homeless people sleeping in the shade structures.
We like the water play area, and the quite neighbor hood
The park is in the middle of construction so some of the debre and dust will get to you if you have allergies. And my family has noticed a couple of PEDOPHILERS up there too. So make sure you keep an eye out for your kids if they plan on being distant to play.
Very good park historic park, fun park, sport and summer time sprinklers on cool down heat.
Water spray area, covered tables and bench areas, toys, stage. Very cute
Beat lil Matthew in and around the world
No ratchet ppl there no problems
It could be cleaner, but the kids still enjoy themselves.
Kids loved this place kept them busy for hours
Good Tennis courts.
Best quick spot for Summer if kiddos want to get soaked!
Great water spray park for the kids during the summer.
Like. It
Great place to have a Party! Just need lights to the tables and chairs areas.
Good park, but it does have more bees flying than other place. The spray park section is fun for my son
Tennis courts have a walled half court for those who want to practice alone
We left not even 10 minutes after we arrived. The dust from the sand was too much for my asthmatics.
Great park for kids in hot summer
Very nice I live how they added shade to the areas with tables for when you have parties . Very clean park love love love it
A well kept park surrounded by older homes and .l loved looking at there beautiful trees white oak l believe?
Nice big park with lots of trees, water spray play area, tennis courts, stage, covered picnic benches, and play structure. Just be aware that homeless tend to sleep in the stage structure.
Love the openess of park, very clean, family friendly, nice gazeebo to take pictures
My kids likes that park
I wasnt there to smell the seats, but I have enjoyed the green grass and laid down and fell asleep. The parks are there for everyone to enjoy. Regardless of their station in life. Whether you like it or not; homeless folks are people too.
Kids love this place
My Grandkids Had A Great Time !!!!
