Love the landscaping. Many homeless and drug abusers. No real hassles. But they ought to put a bike cop out there to patrol and be around. Great deterrent and a good set of eyes.
Pretty park but there is a large homeless population. The grounds after typically clean. Stay alert and you shouldnt have any problems.
Very peaceful nice area and nice views.. perfect for picnic or throwing a line try to catch you a fish or two... But remember catch and release..
Great park that the city refuses to maintain so theres trash everywhere and its kind of gross. But other than that its a good park.
Awesome park! Only complaint is theres too many homeless people in this park. Also I love the urban legend of the woman in a white dress that haunts this place.
This park is good during the day to bring kids but i woul not bring them after 5 pm due the fact that at nighttime there a lot of homeless
Ducks are awesome several blocks of paved walkways. Not to mention my dogoves it there to.
When fishing caught a fish lost a fish enjoyed the hour I spent fishing there tonight!
It was very relaxing . People there are super nice.
Great playground for kids and a duck pond where you can feed the ducks but kind of dirty and lots of homeless
Lots of Shade and green sentry Ducks and restroom facilitys and a nice play area for Children. There were some homless encampments, but nobody bother Me.
Great atmosphere for families and friends to relax and enjoy. Playground equipment and grassy areas to indulge in nature with a pond and oak trees to play around in, perfect location for games and gatherings.
Nice upgrade to this park a few years back. First time there. Therere some nice features. There were a couple shady-looking people around though. Would definitely want to be there too if my wife and kids wanted to go there.
Ate lunch and there was enough space to social distance from everyone else. Sat under the trees enjoying the breeze.
Cool place to have lunch since the restaurants are closed. Easy to access and a scenic place to visit.
Great place. Use restroom prior to your arrival though.
My wife and I and my grandson and my brother. All enjoyed the park my grandson enjoy playing with the kids. Also looking at the Ducks. Walking over the bridge that was cool. Yes, there was a couple of homeless people. Homeless people like part 2 what you going to do? Stay home? Not Just enjoy the day.
My kids always have a great time on the play ground and its every peaceful .
Nice place downtown however its a common spot for the bums in the area to hangout
Good shady areas to enjoy lunch.
Beautiful indeed, lots of homeless people though...
Restrooms are always filled with the homeless cathi g themselves in the sink, water every where.
Great place to hang out
DUCKS DUCKS!! My Children love this park
Sketchy stuff and a wedding going on today but other than that another beautiful day in Bakersfield
Lady in White supposedly haunts the covered bridge. Havent seen her myself, but there are stories online...
Great place for a mid day nap in the shade if youre not worried about transients. They usually dont bother me so I can relax for a few minutes between morning and afternoon.
Nice part but to many homeless ppl
Alot of services closed because of covid
Used to be a nice, clean park to play with the kids. Feed the ducks and take awesome pics. You can still do that, but now its being crowded with homeless all about. It smells in some places. Bathrooms are bad. And good luck with pics. You might have a homeless person sleeping in the background.
I love feeding the ducks.
More and more homeless are living in their cars or in the park recently.
It is very beautiful. Trees, ducks, birds, bridges. There are a few homeless people around though that sometimes act crazy. Other than that at night it has some dim lights that guide the walkway. The playground has a padded soft ground, no pokey woodchips.
Early morning 2 sundown you can get the best pictures in town here at this park outdoor View amazing spots by the water very nice place for pictures to be taken
Good place to walk and clear your mind
Relaxing place. My hubby saved a chuckling here whos foot was caught between rocks. Great memories!
Trash everywhere. Homeless have overrun this park damaged lights covered with traffic cones and burned out lights everywhere. Dont feel safe and would never recommend going there at night
I love going here with my kids. Very beautiful place and so many people come here to take professional wedding and quinceanera photos. My kids call it the light park because at night it lights up beautifully.
This park is my home to relax in. I come here to enjoy the birds. Ducks & pigeons bring me great pleasure!! A simple pleasure for an old man..
An excellent revitalization effort to an area thats long needed it. The place is now a venue and you can see a lot of photographers taking shots around the area. Lots of tree cover, which is uncommon in many Bakersfield parks on the West side, make this go to place.
This park has something for everyone! there are walking paths is you have a hard time navigation the trails, but there are trails ranging from very easy to moderately hard. there are beautiful views around every bend, my favorite being the Old Mill which sits up on a gorgeous waterfall. Spring, summer, fall or winter this is one of my favorite places to be.
A pretty little park in downtown art district of Bakersfield.Fantastic place. Breath taking.Clean calm and beautiful for pictures and events.

Awesome park with a great scenery! Take a stroll and catch some pokemon. I always see avid players walk through here! Theres also a playground for your kids to play. Plenty of shade and benches to relax. Great place in general!
Its a nice park it just depends around what time you go whether it is a little safer. I seen post about the homeless at the park being an issue, but Ive never seen them as bothersome it was worse before the remodel of the park. All in all now it isnt bad I enjoy taking my children here and they enjoy it as well.
One of the nicer parks I have been to in Bakersfield. Surprisingly beautiful scenery in downtown Bakersfield. Nice water features, bridges, and walking path. Also very nice playground for my 3 year old to play on. Highly recommend for families.
If you like antiques or a visit to your childhood you got to see this

It was a nice walk. It was a bit windy so it wasn’t that hot at all. It nice just seeing all the duckies just chilling there with nothing better to do lol.I loved it
They always have what I want
Beautiful park but wouldnt want to be here after dark.
This is my favorite park, peoples have a fun walk around making some pictures, families, students enjoying Art museum, and most of time city of bakersfield have some events, etc
A very beautiful park, plenty of shade trees to enjoy a picnic under. The river runs through it and has a very beautiful walkway next to it. Plenty of places to sit along the way and plenty of ducks to feed.
Too many homeless people
Very nice place. One of the better parks by far.Clean calm and beautiful for pictures and events.Just a wonderful experience!
One of the better parks by far. Restrooms near kids play center is tidy and has a drinking water fountain. Safety swing set available. The bridge is beautiful and my favorite spot for duck feeding fun! There is a gorgeous gazebo for whatever your heart desires. Great kid friendly nature-y adventure in the heart/center of Bakersfield.
There are some guys that live in the apartment building by the park that think they have the right to do anything they want. They break into the apartments that people live in and get away with it. They break into cars, they steal anything they can get there hands on. They have told others that have been stolen from that they would hurt them or more if they dont be quite. They get on top of the apartments and watch people in their apartments. Park 20 apartments let them get away with it. I have had my apartment broke in to 20 times or more and management knows about it and who they are and does nothing. Be careful around this park. They will do whatever they want.
It was a cute little park and had beautiful views, but there were so many homeless people that it made it seem a little unsafe. It is not somewhere I would bring my kids again.
Great place for a stroll in the evening, many places to set and rest. Calm relaxing emvironment
Awesome.Great place for relaxing and getting in touch with God.Clean calm and beautiful for pictures and events.
It is a really nice setting with a canal running through it, but until they clear out the recent uptick on homeless and street people it has list some of its luster.
Park is nice with toys for the kids. The bathrooms on the other hand were so discusting.
Good place to feed the ducks
It was a good park for a while but now the homeless have taken it over. I don’t feel safe taking my niece and nephew there alone anymore. You can’t go to the little “around the world” areas without seeing needles on the floor or homeless people and their carts.
Love this park. I wont go at night time because its pretty dangerous, but during the day, its safe. We like the shady trees and the river and the ducks.
Pretty little park on the mill canal. Shady and next to an art museum. The dogs like it.
Very comfortable and safe area for the kids I just wish they had a water park for the kids in the summer time it would be amazing walking and feeding the ducks is so relaxing.
Cool park for fishing. A lot of homeless
Beautiful place! Just needs to be cleaned up around there
Great place for scenery and a piece of mind also good for long walks and feeding ducks.
Me and my girlfriend went there to relax and enjoy the surroundings were even going to get married here when we finally tie the knot it is such a beautiful park.
Great place! Very beautiful, Clean calm and beautiful for pictures and events.
Love feeding the ducks
It okay but not river walk good
Easter Sunday was great here. Nice Central location to Bakersfield. Restrooms are disgusting though. I dont know but California has a problem with keeping their restrooms clean and organized. No Soap dispensers to properly clean your hands. Nice little play area for the kids. Rubber flooring with a few holes but pretty clean. Lovely view of the ducks and water making it a lovely scene. No BBQ pits so bring your own. Slight problem with the homeless people being there but they are nice and have a right to be there also its a public place
Mill Creek Park is definitely the gem in the Youngstown, Ohio area. It is a beautiful park, maintained and clean. The trees are so beautiful in the fall!!! Lantermans Mill is such a wonderful and gorgeous place for sightseeing and pictures.
U love this park the views, the games.. the only issue is that Homeless people have invaded this park and are everywhere. The problem is not that their three the problem is what they do, half the time they are out of their mind and walk around with pants down to their knees. Other than that a lot of events happening at this park and the city does a good job on keeping it clean.
Beautiful place to take pictures, but there were a few homeless people yelling. Great experience there though
It is full of homeless. The park is beautiful but you dont feel safe there.
I love taking walks along the path where all the beauitful Ducks go to swim & wlk around peacefully w/o anyone bugging or bothering them etc etc.
I have been going to Mill Creek Park for many, many years and back when it was Central Park! It is located in Lovely Downtown Bakersfield! The park now as well as the surrounding areas have been renovated, new housing and paved walk paths filled with lush gardens full of many species of vegetation, trees and shrubs! A variety of subspecies, genus (plural: genera!!) Their is art work and plenty of seating, it also has a playground for families with children! Ive seen weddings and other events in the park, its clean and well maintained an thats why I give Mill Creek Five Stars!!
Great for taking pictures but a lot of homeless people around this park.
Good during the day but at night kinda creepy
Wonderful place to go with the family. only downside is there can be a lot of homeless. great place for photoshoots lots of scenic areas
Love the lit up walk way at night
