Gorgeous little stop along your route by the river. Great skyline of Austin, amazing crystalline water and you might even see a swan or two! Cannot recommend this place enough for people coming with out of towners. It’s a really easy walk down from the Zilker trail

Can get very busy with joggers and cyclists, would be nice if people could take their litter home rather than throw it over the wall (is it really that difficult?)There are some good views across the river to downtown Austin and some of the bridges.Water fountain is available for you and your pets.

Great spot to walk down and take in a view of Austins downtown skyline. If the weather is nice there will people enjoying the water as well. You can park on Lou Neff Rd. but they charge for parking and I believe its 5.00. We only stayed for about 15 minutes and didnt get a ticket on a Sunday for not paying. You can walk south on the trail just about 50 feet and take your shoes off and let your feet soak in the cool water.

Very scenic. Can get a little dirty because its becoming more known but amazing look over to the skyline of Austin.

Most serene location near Zilker park and often unknown to tourists visiting Austin due to its interior placement.People jog, kayak around the Lou neff point in the evenings and parking is available on either sides of the zilker park. Its very quite location and gives a lot of privacy to enjoy the downtown view.Caution- kindly be advised that the place gets too dark after evenings and would be difficult for newcomers to reach the main road (there are no lights available in pathway to Lou Neff point). Also carry an DSLR to capture beautiful views of downtown Austin

An incredible location to view the skyline of Austin. And even better? We saw a beautiful swan swimming nearby! The calmness of the water creates a stunning reflection of the high rises as the sun sets. This location is easily accessible via walking or wheels. A nice date spot and tourist attraction.

Excellent nighttime views of Austin reflected over the water.I highly recommend coming here after dark for a relaxing, peaceful time by the water.(After Dark) this place is very low traffic, and very quiet. Its probably one of the best (if not the only) place to get a view like this one without any noise or distractions.

In summer bring some mosquito repellent. At night you’ll see some rats. It’s the trail! The view from this place is gorgeous. I’ve seen more people hang out here over the years. There is potable water next to the benches. Also seems that every time the Colorado river washes more of the shore leaving less space to walk around. There used to be a nice rock and lots of sand but is gone now. It’s best in winter.

Barton creek and springs is a beautiful area along the shoreline of Lady Bird lake in Austin. It’s not a far walk from downtown and over the pedestrian bridge, and even faster when on a run or bike. It’s a perfect area for a nice reflective walk or a run with great scenery. It feels very secluded with lots of vegetation and picturesque water and bridges. Then when you turn the corner, you get a lovely view of the downtown skyline of Austin. It’s super popular with dog walkers and moms with strollers, so it may be a bit crowded for a fast paced run, but for a nice addition of scenery to a run, it’s perfect.

This is one of the best views in Austin, great anytime of day. Go in the morning for the sunrise. The combination of the cityscape reflecting off the water interacting with the beauty of the sky is breathtaking. Its also a great spot to catch some local Lady Bird Lake wildlife. There are swans, ducks, turtles, kayakers, paddle boarders, dogs, and even an otter every once in a while. Dont miss out on this Austin treasure, you will not regret it!
