Good park. Its an older park but still a good one. The playground is not very large but gets the job done. It has one playground with monkey bars and a swing set. It also has grills located throughout the park with picnic tables. It has a walking trail, basketball court, and a pool on the property, too. I recommend a visit if youre looking for a smaller, less busy park.

Great small park with walking or biking trails, playground, restrooms, picnic tables and benches throughout. Not very crowded except for special holidays. Lots of dogs and owners present. Plenty of space to play!!

Lovely small park with paved and gravel trails and a nice playground. The interior trails are fairly level so nice if (like me) you want a little walk outside but without dramatic elevation changes.

Great park for walking dogs, running, and taking a nice walk. Theres a really nice pool where you can do laps for $5/day (resident price).

Clean park. Nice play area for children and large walking trails. Playground equipment distanced well especially fwlt safe here and everyone has been being excellent distancing during Covid with playground and trails etc. Lots of parking and a restroom.

It is clean and peacefull. Has a kiddie area and picnic areas. Had a nice lunch with my 2 sons, nephew, brother and hubby.

Great park for kids and families. The playground has a larger playset for bigger kids and a smaller one for tiny kids. Lots of trees and open greenspace, whats not to love?

Nice open park. Lots of shade to wander in the summer. Usually not very crowded. Good for socially distanced play time for the kiddos.

The park la suitable for dogs owners who loves to go against the park s rules. Lately, I am seeing very rowdy citizens, so loud and fighty. Also, I started to seeing homeless resting on the benches, sleeping and singing which it is ok. I think policemen need to patrol more often this park.

Great neighborhood park with beautiful surrounding trees!! Lots of shady spots to lay out and chill without the crowds at Zilker. We bring our dog here all the time for walks and jogs. We play catch, fetch, and frisbee. Theres a public pool although right now its closed and theres no water. Theres a playground as well. Theres also tennis courts you can use when there arent students using them from the high school, because I think technically, the tennis courts are on school grounds.

Great for morning walks & has a decent playground. The pool is okay, but I wish theyd clean it more often than once a week. Theres a few very old graves in one section, which seems both bizarre and peaceful.

I love the trees and getting a dose of nature during the hustle and bustle of the ever growing city.

We love Garrison! The community pool is great, but getting pricey. The park is beautiful with great playgrounds - yes there’s more than one! There is always a game of pick up Bball going, all skill levels welcome. The pavilion is nice and we’ve been wanting to try out there bbq pits!

Love this park.. cant wait for the pool to open! Tons of trees for shade, a restroom close to the playscape for my daughter (and me), and tons of trails to walk when the weather is nice :) close to a ton of great places to eat as well!

Nice flat surface people w/ mobility issues can hike. Climbing playground for young children. A nice swimming pool with both a wading pool and a diving board. All in one package.

I absolutely LOVE Garrison park! Being a native austinite, I have been so lucky to have grown up in South Austin and I have been coming here my whole lifetime and will continue. The playscape is amazing for our youngsters and the pool is exactly what the doctor ordered for those piping hot Texas summer days! You can always meet new friends of the two legged and four legged variety!

Love coming here. Its relatively close to where I nanny so we can walk there. Well the play area is pretty small in terms of pi equipment it still has a toddler size slide and swings as well as regular swings and even a swing for special needs children. Also there is a pool with a separate toddler pool area that you can pay for. Always seems to be kids at this park anywhere from the ages of 2 to 5 or 6. a couple times Ive seen older kids but mainly those ages seem to really enjoy this park.

This park is lovely on a beautiful cool crisp day or any day for that matter to let the kids run around.

Very beautiful place to take photos and plenty of space to enjoy family parties and games or just have a nice nature walk.

Very nice park! Lots of shade so it becomes very tolerable on even hot days. Many water fountains, trails, and benches. Even a basketball court, swimming pool, and playground! Very nice.

This park is Austin centric with a family focus and featuring a neighborhood pool. Also, you can find some of the cutest and people friendly squirrels in the world here. I named this guy Jitterz

Garrison is one of the best parks in Austin. Lots of trees that shade the playground and picnic areas well, a big pool with a smaller, separate kiddie pool, and large grounds to spread out on. Theres basketball courts too and a big pavilion. Lots of people throw birthday parties here which is perfect for the kids to run around while adults talk. Theres a small gender specific bathroom.

A nice, and when I went, quiet place to meditate or relax.Even though its right off Manchaca, its relatively quiet.I only stayed to enjoy my lunch and can tell that the benches shaded by trees, provide excellent coverage from the sun.There is a playground nearby where children can play as well as barbecue grills, spread across the park.

Peaceful and clean

I really enjoyed that their was plenty of space for animal to play around and a swimming pool, great for the hot days of summer. Also, their was a park further for kids to play if they dont want to swim and stay dry while conveniently having shade. However, there was only one table that I saw and the grass was tall. Hope they make add some new tables and the little trash for dog poop.

A beautiful green and wild space for people of all ages. Close to the neighborhood pool and Eden Park Academy, an elementary school. A peaceful moment or a playtime is waiting for you there...

They have a wonderful place cape and a beautiful swimming pool and the dogs enjoy it there and the bathrooms are nice and clean so yeah I recommend Garrison Park its a beautiful place to hang out nice place to have a barbecue spend time with friends and family

Fun with the grandkids

Place was nice, lots of shade . Grandson had a baseball game there. The consession stand was very cheap priced . Great place . Even had picnic tables by where they played. AWESOME ! !

Awesome park in South Austin. Pretty safe just avoid the restrooms by the ball field.

Garrison Park has good walking trails, covered pavilions for larger gatherings, lots of picnic tables, a kid scape that is super cool, and bathrooms...and thats just the start. Lots use from the neighborhood folks, and worth the stroll to check it out.

Niced size playground, playscape, and swingset. The park also had a pool. The pool looked clean and filled with water but didnt seem open. Odd for a weekday during Summer.

Garrison is a good park to go to. I cant say Ive ever used the pool, I feel like over the years it has always been closed when weve gone. But the playground has lots of shade, maybe ALL shade! Great summertime playground. And a basketball court in the shade. And beautiful trees and a nice walking trail.

Incredible park. Alot of history and some peculiar mysteries. Goes far in the back. Many of young people from the Crockett High School have sat in same place you may be many years ago. Many of first kisses and unfortunately some broken hearts. However that is all apart of life and that being said... We live we learn... nonetheless Stop in sometime bring your kids family, there are bar- b- que pits at the ready, basketball court, kids playground, and public facilities clean and courteous.Thank you and enjoy your visit.. P.S. We are Austin Texas and that means we are PET FRIENDLY..

Garrison Park is a nice place to bring your family for picnics, parties or to let the kids play on the play ground. The pool is clean and well maintained. Its a great way to spend some family time.

Love the shade and location but needs to be cleaned more often.
