Awesome park located in the Austin downtown. There are two parking lot is located -one near the Vic Mathias shore & other at Douglas Art center but both of them gets filled up in weekends/holidays.Plan a bit early if you planned to explore the park. Summers are very hard here, make sure you stay hydrated while in park. Cars arent allowed inside the park beyond the parking lot.Sunset at South Congress is another attraction nearby
Want a change up from Zilker with a better view? Try Auditorium Shores. Bring a picnic and watch the sunset on the city. There is a separate area for dogs off leash of that bothers you at Zilker.Parking can be hard to find but dont waste your time with street parking, just go right to to convention center across the road. Parking is usually free
Always a delightful place to walk. city of austin has done an excellent job on these trails and the park.
It is a very nice place to relax either solo or with family and friends. Could use more parking spots though.
Great park by the lake to walk your dog on leash. Nice, spacious, and green. Poop stations and trash bins are accessible. Walking down the trail leads straight to the off-leash dog park. The park is not gated so be careful and watch that your dog does not run into the street.
Beautiful scenery. I work there everyday and the sights muah the sights
I always enjoy this park! It’s for the dogs! The people are generally friendly and it can get pretty crowded during rush hour! The only issue are people that can’t seem to read and always want to ride their bikes through the dog park instead of using the designated bike trail that goes around. Also, people seem to want to have to break the law further and drive their motorized scooters and what not on the trail through the dog park as well. I feel that if a more steady police presence were their to ticket some of the offenders, that maybe it will stop. Sometimes dogs get almost hit by bicyclists. I’ve seen incidents that the bicyclist getting upset and almost getting his teeth punched in by other dog owners for his mistake. It’s getting rough for dog owners and pedestrians who inadvertently get hit by someone breaking the law. But otherwise an amazing place to go!
Free parking at the lot by riverside and south 1st. Love this section of the trail!
Park itself is relatively clean and well manicured..mens toilet is an embarrassment for this city..we can do much better..
It’s sad to see a park go from what it once was to something completely different. I used to take my dog here regularly actually since I moved here years ago we’ve almost gone here daily. Unfortunately now is crawling with tourists and to put it nicely the crowds are a bit much they ruined it. By they I mean the newcomers.
Aqesome views of construction cranes. No really great views perfect weather that day. And Stevie!
Great place for picnic with beautiful views of downton Austin during sunset
We actually saw 2 fresh water otters there in the pond next to the Palmer Events Center which shocked us since we have never seen otters here in Austin. Also to have seen the otters there instead of the lakes here in town or swimming holes. I have lived here 32 years and I have never seen this before. I do hope that no one goes there and messes with them!
Went to the Texas Roller Derby Girls show tonight at the Palmer Events Center. Always great craic, thats Gaelic for fun. Tonight was the Holy Rollers. Vs the Cherry Bombs. The wifey, mother in law and friend had great night. Would recommend for a good night out. It is on the fringe side of Austins eclectic community so you see a great cross section of our wonderful city. Well worth a visit.
Currently visiting for the Reggae Festival, but it’s always nice. Great place to snap some iconic photos of the skyline... Jenga building included.
Great place to go for a jog. The trails along the water are relaxing and peaceful with a great view! Plenty of spots along the way to stop and enjoy the scenery as well.
Absolutely gorgeous park. This is where I proposed to my wife. Great view of the skyline, pretty little pond with many different kinds of sea life. I come to this park everytime I am in Austin.
Good park to move around. Nice place to visit
Great park with wonderful views of Town Lake and downtown.
Gets crowded on the water sometimes. But one hell of a view. Parking can be tough.
Great places for dogs to play, ride a bike or even see a concert. With the beautiful city skyline as the backdrop, this picturesque park holds many concerts, and other events throuout the year. Its smaller than Zilker, but does connect as part of the hike and bike circuit. It also provides public access to Town Lake. (I refuse to call it Lady Bird, sorry...) One of the best features is the BATHROOM! Always clean and stocked with toilet paper every time Ive been. The dog park is excellent if your dog is reliable enough to not run away - there is no fence. There is however the lake access, so its wonderful for all those water dogs out there. I prefer this dog park to the Riverside dog park any day.Parking can be a problem, but hey its in downtown Austin so what do you expect. The way I see it is youre already going to the park anyway so having to park kind of far away and walking is just your warm up for excersises or just stretching your legs at the park.Overall 5 stars even considering parking.
Nice and clean, wit a lot of Beautiful Woman there!
Its just cool, with good vibes and green open spaces that are well maintained
One of my favorite places to start a run, take the dogs, or catch live music during a free concert series. This place makes you love Austin.
Amazing facility with incredible views. Great parking with so many places to eat around the area. Its a wonderful place for photos, picnics, and just to sit and read a book.
One of my favorite places in Austin. Great views of downtown, lake Austin and has an awesome trail.
Very nice location to view the city.. this is the place to be on July 4th.. youll get a good view of the fireworks
This is our FAVORITE place to bring the dog! He loves it and it exhaustes him like nothing else in the world. People are very friendly, grounds are usually pretty clean and grassy, and the views of the Austin skyline are unbeatable! Parking can be scarce, but if you know where to look its no big deal.
Austin Record Convention. They have LPS, 45s, CDs and so much more in the way of posters and video. Lots of memorabilia in photos, buttons toys and the like. Super place for collectors and the musically courious..
Great place to walk around. View of skyline is absolutely beautiful!
Excellent city space for a river walk, Stevie Ray Vaughn statue was the most excellent!
Beautiful area. Great dog park. Clean walking trails. And most importantly Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Really relaxing, raggae bands were on point, food is awesome, ppl having a blast and enjoying the 4/20 weekend festival...Great event i always look forward to coming every year too. !

Beautiful venue.I have seen several shows here and always enjoy myself.
Real fun place to get out and have some fun town.
Absolutely luvd the Austin view ...Just a few from the Hotel. Next to the Hi rise City...great place to walk, view, go down the river...
House of the 2017 Austin Food & Wine Festival - 3day, ultimate party w/food & wine - April 28-30, 2017. Auditorium Shores is grassy, spacious spaces, right off the water with ample shady trees. Need I say more? #austinfoodwine #afwfest
Love being here hanging out with friends or just enjoying the day. Lots of great events like the Sunshine race today.
The Austin gem and mineral society holds their annual exhibition at the Palmer event center. This is why me and my girls were here. Caution when opening the doors to the event center! I opened the door and cut my daughters toes. She was wearing sandals. Maintenance personnel were great in assisting me and my upset daughter. The show lived up to our expectations. So be careful when goung into Palmer.
Hiked the parameter of Ladybird lake with grandkids.
Such a beautiful place for free events
Great place . But dont lose your bike lock key while working after a Bernie Sanders rally
Our fav spot since moving to Austin 6 months ago.
Great park with easy access
This place is great, very clean and perfect splash pad for little ones.Did I mention, its FREE.
Super beautiful place had a great time just be careful of all the spiders
Nice out here. Saturday and Sunday is an Electric DJ event. $15 all day. Fun.Stevie Rays statue is out here. Fun on the lake too
Cute park! Love the downtown area!
Beautiful river walkway with great views of this beautiful skyline. Seems like everyone in Austin jogs or bikes here and everyone is fit. A true hipster haven.
Nice view of the buildings and lake
Lady Bird Lake( TOWN LAKE) and Auditorium Shores is what makes Austin a great place to live. Trails, kayaks, dogs parks, movies, concerts, everything we need.
Wow so beautiful and peaceful walking running biking trail and the Colorado River
4th of July here is the best with the orchestra playing in the background!Free and b ring your own seating!
Review as dog park. Auditorium Shores is SO FUN! Theres always so many dogs romping around, and having a great time. Ive found that all the dog owners who come here are also responsible; weve never had any issues with aggression from other dogs, poop not being picked up, etc. The great thing about this dog park is that you can play with your dog and then hop on the trails or the pedestrian bridge toward downtown, getting both play and exercise and giving an easy way to take your dog away for a bit more calm when necessary. Additionally, for all the dogs who play and do their business in this area, the grass is really nice! I do wish the fence just encircled the area and truly made a separate dog area. Parking is difficult if its a nice day or on the weekend, but there is a parking garage nearby at the events center if it comes to that.
Really good place to run or just walk away with ur friend and family...
Auditorium shores is a great place to hangout, bring your dogs, slackline, or get some city sunbathing in.People play frisbee, have picnics and enjoy life at Auditorium Shores. Be careful taking your dog off leash outside of the designated areas, cops will fine you.
A great place to come and chill out and enjoy the wide open space. You can also walk, jog or ride your bike on the hike and bike trail. You can do the entire loop(10 miles)or the 4 miles.
One of those amazing places that make Austin what it is. Great place to enjoy the wonderful weather, especially if youre a dog!
I visited this place yesterday November 19 for the 25th House The Homeless Sunrise Memorial Service and it was wonderful. The place is use for a variety of events including concerts, Austin City Limits Festival, etc. Is a very nice place to visit to just relax and lay on the grass and read a book or listen to music, take your kids and pets to play, workout, do yoga, etc. It has been remodeled recently and it looks wonderful, lots of public restrooms, water fountains, gazebo, workout bars, running trails, lots of well kept grass, free parking lots, no entrance fees, and it offers a fantastic view of downtowns skyline over the river on the other side. Wonderful night view. I, Joy Dolluxe (Eden Joy Molina), strongly recommend you to visit the place, especially on festivities and events. I guarantee you will come back over and over again.
Take your kids and have a picnic! Love this park.
Love this place to go for a jog or to bring my doggies. Haven’t brought them there in awhile though since the algae thing is still going on.
I love this place! A relaxing, grass field with nice views and the place for many, many Austin events. Even when not hosting a race, concert or event including the old Austin Aqua Festival, this place is a peaceful setting where you can stretch, read, play frisbee or relax. An iconic scene with the Austin skyline as the backdrop. The hike and bike trail and town lake. What a beautiful Austin landmark! #auditoriumshores
Great park with lots of events
Very nice setting for the concert with Willie & Leon Bridges. Views of the city at night are great sight to see.
Went on the bat tour and got way more than we expected. Good local history and perspective on development, along with some interesting biology. The boat tour was great because the pilot shared his interests with us.
Great place to take your dog to walk off the leash. They can also jump in the river too. Nice walking paths and shade. Come take a picnic or just enjoy a walk or bike ride. Great view of downtown.
Beautiful spot with plenty of space to walk run or ride!
Quintessential spot to see the Austin skyline, go for a run, walk the dog, or participate in open-space outdoor activities.
Great downtown gem to visit and see fireworks shows as well as all of the main event happening in Austin that the city has to offer. You can also use this as an entry point to the trails that run parallel to Town Lake aka Lady Bird Lake/Colorado River that runs through the city.
Great views of the city in a park atmosphere. Fireworks and concerts, too!
This place has a special place in my heart. I ran this trail for years and find it very fun and upbeat place to re-energize!
Beautiful place all around. Cap 10k and Austin Food and Wine Festival.
Wonderful location for many major events
Auditorium Shores hosts the most amazing live music concerts! A personal favorite was when Yes! Came thur town! Can you say aaaaaaamaaaazzzziiinnnggg
Great trail to go running or just for a casual stroll. Dog lovers will love it very much too.
Love to walk at pace just to get out the house. Very busy though
With all the construction going on right now, it makes it really hard to enjoy the park properly
This place has a great view of the city. It is a large park where you can freely and has a great trail to run or bike. It is also right on the water and has a dog park which can be good for your pet.
Go to place if you have a dog! Massive swimming area... yes, the river! If your dog needs to lose weight, river fetching is the fastest way to get the ideal weight! The city has constantly improved this park throughout the years. They even switched to a different kind of gravel because the old one used to get soaked and muddy. There is also a large off leash dog park where you can have your dog play.
Beautiful location, however, not the best for symphonic events from an acoustic perspective.
Very nice venue. Well kept and maintained good security
Great place to get the family outdoors. They have a wonderful dog park.
Is a good place for family weekend spending. From time to time, here has some event. You might follow up to catch a good one.
Scenic, recreational, dog- friendly, bikers Paradise. In just
