A beautiful Art Gallery, with excellent variety of paintings, in the perfect area.
Nice gallery with nice works that seem to get changed pretty frequently.
This gallery is one of the best in town. No small feat in an art-loving city like Austin, the gallery is built into an old house and offers cozy vignettes featuring small numbers of works in each room. Intimate and welcoming as well as home to some of the best artists Austin has to offer.
I buy from galleries nationwide, and this is absolutely the worst. So pretentious. So uppity. So full of themselves. Ive tried DESPERATELY over the past week to buy a work from an artist I like, and the ladies here couldnt do MORE to drive my business away. Why would an artist rely on representation that only damages their reputation? Many reviews compliment the building and the curating. Does anyone actually buy art here? I sure wont. Texas has far better galleries.
Stopped by to check out their art collection. I liked it but the inexperienced staff was not helpful, and the owner (Wally) never got back to me despite leaving contact information.Edit: Upgrading my review after the gallerist reached out to me via telephone. Apparently, she was out with an appendectomy and recovery took longer than expected. She was helpful in providing me, a novice, a better understanding of their gallery and the fine art world in general.
Last Friday evening marked my first visit to Wally Workman for an opening reception; and I can see exactly why this established gallery has been providing art to the Austin area for so many years. The staff is welcoming, the space is airy and uncomplicated and contains a diverse selection of art. There are enough seats in each viewing room to sit back, relax and take it all in. I go to many art opening receptions; and Workman seems to pride themselves on providing their patrons with an exceptional art experience.
Often has some really good pieces!
Rejected one of my artists requests for an appointment to see the gallery and to learn about their curations. Assumed she was asking to exhibit art and dismissed her email entirely. Prententious and unprofessional.
Beautiful space in a beautiful building! Love the entrance dstairsr. Quality art everytime, too.
We absolutely love this art gallery. Fun and classy!
Intimate gallery that takes great effort in showcasing the artists and bringing the appreciative public to them.
On a scale from 1 to 10 ... I give the Wally Workman Gallery a 12.Great place ... they are over the top!
Wally represents some of the areas best and most creative artists, and she and her staff are always personable and helpful with information about the art. I highly recommend this gallery, and always look forward to seeing their new exhibits.
Disappointing
Very friendly staff
