This is a fabulous organization run by fabulous people. I really dislike how our society has become a throwaway culture, but organizations like this give me hope for our future. We need to prioritize recycling and reusing materials that already exist, and the icing on top of the cake is this organizations goal.
This place is so cool - with new donations coming in all the time and a really generous definition of what counts as a creative item you never know what sort of interesting things youll find here. Fabric, thread, beads, drawing pencils, little decorative birds, odd glass bottles, storage containers.... You never know what will spark inspiration or what great deal youll find.
Such a great resource. They are managing social distancing well (20 in store max, check in out front). Staff is consistently helpful and friendly. Always a positive experience going here. And you can find some great stuff for cheap!
Fun place to shop. Scored some great bargains.Staff very helpful. Really good safe distancing policies in place.
A dangerous place for crafters as there is a plethora of materials at affordable prices; so much so that it can be a bit overwhelming at first. It is best to have some specific ideas before going in or you might lose yourself.
Heaven on earth for crafters and DIYers. You can find lots of materials for an array of projects for very little money. My favorite weekend destination.
Best store in Austin. Fantastic excellent execution. Come here, @austincreativereuse instagram facebook austincreativereuse.org
This place is everything I’ve always hoped. Truly amazing.
This is an artist/hobbyist/crafters dream store... Its basically an art thrift shoppe. They have everything you can imagine and then some, and at a price that you certainly wont find anywhere else on the planet. Last but not least they hold seminars and classes that are both informative and a great place to meet like minded individuals! 10/10!
If you dont mind used stuff then this is the place for buying stuff for your small projects or hobbies. I buy crayons by scoopful, cloth scraps (available between 1-4 yards) small containers. Its worth checking out if you have kids and do some craft activities with them
I always find good stuff!
Amazing place for unique finds!
My home away from home! Its worth going back often - you never know what youll find! I tend to go for yarn and fabric. Their $5 bucket section is great though I think my husband would get frustrated if I filled one every time... Teacher events, school supply collection and community involvement make ACR truly shine.
My favorite place to shop. Artists/hobbies dream store.
What an amazing resource for crafters!!! It has any odd or end you could ever need to start or finish a project for so little money, especially considering how crazy craft supply stores can get when you’re a teacher or creative person. An amazing local cause to support with your business and donations!
This place helps me feel like I can do something about our planet’s pollution problem. I love it!
Fantastic place for arts and crafts supplies where you can feel good about shopping! ️
This place has a ton of super cheap art supplies. All kinds of stuff for painting, knitting, beading, etc.
Second hand store for craft and creative item. Beautiful crafting materials, plus odds and ends. They have everything from soecialty expert crafting tools, to delicious odds and ends begging for a new life. (Think: ends from a fine woodworking shop, metal cookie tins Aunt Freda just never threw away because they might be used for something. Those ill conceived hobbies you over invested in? They will get snapped up and crafted with eager artists, etsy stars, Scout troops. So stop fretting over the investment and donate them to ACR. (Marie Kondo might encourage you to thank them as you drop them off...but who am I to suggest this?)I just spent $1.89 on office supplies. Folders, 3 ring binders, and some paper clips. Now I am ready to take the paper beast lurking in a corner... for a reasonable price. My bank account is cheering in the background already!Keep in mind..it can be hit or miss. Some days are more jazzy than others and the space is smallish. Parking can be tight. Check the acr social media for specials, open hours, and workshops. This is run by volunteers, so leave your karen attitude at home and enjoy budget friendly craft browsing.
If you have art supplies of any kind you need to find a new home for, this is the place to take them. They only have one location so it may be harder to get to than your local Goodwill, but the people here truly value and appreciate your donations. (As opposed to Goodwill where you watch them dump everything you bring into giant boxes).Well worth the trip to know that your stuff will be put to good use. The staff and volunteers all seem to enjoy what they were doing so if you live nearby you might want to consider helping out if you can.
Very interesting store. I got some sewing supplies for great price. Fabric had some dirty spots that couldnt be cleaned but cant complain when you paid less than $2 for it. Will visit again when were in Austin.
This is my happy place! I DIYed most of my wedding and couldn’t have done it without ACR. The prices are basically a steal and every time I check out I’m happily surprised by the total. All the volunteers are extremely helpful and love talking about any craft projects you may be shopping for.
Great resource for crafters, sewists, and artists that use found items! Prices are more than reasonable, and its a great way to reduce waste. Be prepared to spend a bit of time sorting through bins; like any thrift experience worth its salt, its somewhat of a treasure hunt.
This store is the best! You can find so much for your art projects and whatnot! Its clean and cute and the staff is very friendly and helpful! And they volunteer to work there!
I have used this store to buy supplies for different projects. Lots of colorful paper, fabric, stamps, bulk crayons. Its a great resource for artists and teachers, and for projects for kids.
I am in love with this place!
Everytime we visit there are always new things to find. Huge selection of craft items. Sometimes new items, but mostly used items that have been donated and still have lots of life left. I always check here before buying retail and save a ton of money and feel a bit better about reducing waste. Employees and volunteers are always helpful a nice. Highly recommend this place for any crafter.
Amazing my daughter went there with her friends and she came back with so much for only 5 dollars
Love ACR! I’ve been coming here since they first opened up and am so excited to find a place like it here in Austin. Great for office supplies for small businesses, to special materials for projects and anything in between. Definitely recommend!
This nonprofit center offers an amazing selection of cool reuse materials for sale--tile samples, canvases, corks, old vinyl records, baby doll limbs--anything you could imagine and a lot more you couldnt. Its inspiring to visit, shop, and think about what you can do with things that might otherwise get thrown away. A pretty amazing resource for artists and teachers, too. They also do craft nights and volunteer events. A place that makes me happy to live in Austin!
The workers/ owners are so nice and will work with you on price. Plus everything is cheap when compared to its actual price. They are life savers. Theres also some pretty neat random stuff there two. Really cool crafty place. I hope they get tons of costumers and keep the place open for a long time. Highly recommend it.
Eclectic surplus of many graft materials at very good prices
My absolute favorite place for art supplies in Austin
WOW the pictures on the site dont reflect what I found. It was dirty, not just dirty but down right filthy, it was trashed things thrown everywhere and it smelled really bad. The frames and matts they had were in really bad shape and not usable. They did have fabric but because of the smell I would have to wash anything I bought before I used it. Wont walk in there ever.
My daughters and I live in the neighborhood and enjoy riding our bikes over to see whats new. Sometimes its a home run, sometimes its just fun.
Amazing treasure trove that really spurs the imagination. I love finding quantities large enough to teach with.
Absolutely amazing; low cost
Love this place! Great Maker space, perfect for finding and donate odds and ends. Scrapbooking goods, stamps, binders, mosaic tiles, fabric scraps and cut offs, display boards, keychains, you name it theyve probably had it at one time or another. Really random so dont expect anything to stay in stock but great opportunity to find the rare treasure. (Highly recommend following their instagram to see a glimpse of what theyve got!)
Great place to stock up on supplies for just about any project imaginable. I just learned to crochet so it is great to be able to buy lots of yarn to practice with without paying big bucks.
This place is a dream come true if you are a crafter/maker and are looking for budget options. Lots of super discounted fabric, yarn, office supplies and childrens art supplies. If you are making something, first check here and then your local hobby store. Also, good volunteering opportunities for homeschoolers, SAHM or your local art circle. The best part is their mission and the 100% dedicated staff. Go here!
Very cool little place! Lots of fun craft supplies cheap.
Love this place! Their turnover on new items is really impressive, and they manage to hold a lot of stuff efficiently in the space! The prices are really great, if you need something for a craft project id very much suggest that you look here before you go to joanns or another craft store! :)
Its got a great selection of sewing, jewelry making, scrapbooking, and office supplies.
You can find anything here for any craft project at ridiculously low prices. Great place to donate all those extra hobby supplies.
Best place in the world!!!
I enjoy going to ACR. There is always something new.
AUSTIN NEEDED THIS! so thankful you exist
A great place to find supplies and things you didnt know you needed. I just wish they werent closed 3 days a week.
Love the place, but they need more space! !

My new addiction!!!
