Its a nice place just under the Astoria bridge. Gives you a great view of the bridge. As the name suggests its a memorial, it also has a information board about Ghadar party - it is related to Indian independence movement against the British colonial rule. Informative and scenic. You can use the trolley if it is working.
Hidden gem with a unique view and a wealth of history including a lifeboat launch and an interpretive sign about the nearby founding of the Ghadar party. The fountain was originally built for the 1905 Lewis and Clark centennial. So much to see here or just #sitwithabook
Very little park with tables and an amazing view of the Columbia River.
It was a neat place to go. Loved reading the plaques. Its well kept and they feel honored.
Nice place to sit and eat lunch
Just a pleasant place to chill for any reason and enjoy the riverfront.
A nice memorial to those who lost their lives at sea. Part of the overall linear park system hugging the river.
Outside charger that is very helpful to some friends of mine!
Showes respect to people who have lived in and contributed to our community.
It was very interesting to read each of the plaques and learn about those who have been a part of the history of Astoria in the various ways. The dates span a fairly wide margin of time. It appears that some of those being remembered may have perished in the Columbia in Performance of their duties. Enjoyed the exhibit.
Always a great place to visit and see the Maritime history of the area and the lives given by the families to shape the future.
So pretty! I love the bridge view and the memorial spot. I saw a name who was shared with my grandpa! It was wild. Green grass and soft waves make it stunning!
Great place for families to enjoy
Very respectful memorial
Beautiful as always.
Emotionally moving. Beautiful memorial.
This is the best memorial service. So small town and bitter sweet. Plenty of flowers for all to toss in the mighty Columbia river.
Always important to consider the sacrifice of those who have their life for our freedom. A nice spot to stop and think along the Astoria waterfront.
Memorial to lost sailorsModern park in a unique location under the bridge
Always touching to go a see a place like this. Quite something and in a location that is beautiful. Please go.
Thought provoking memorial of live lost, many trying to save lives themselves.
To all those souls lost at sea thank for for your sense of adventure, bravery, and work ethic
I love this just looking at the menu and women who work the sea.
It is very good place to know about the people and what they died for
Beautiful!
Beautiful view
A wonderful way to remember those who loved the sea. Peaceful way to review all 1200 plus names on each plaque. My uncle and dad where both added this year.
A wonderful place to respect,q and reflect, on those lost at sea, all, in the line of thier respective duties. Listed is a fraction of the souls for the preceeding 200+ years beyond which the number is unknowable. The open topped arch represents the gateway to the Pacific, jaws of death Columbia River Bar.
Good parking beautiful place .
Wonderful place to recall friend and reflect
Great place to pay respect and reflect
A nlce place to pay respect to family and friends. A lot of local history on those walls!
What a fantastic place!
I stayed in Astoria after moving Family from Spokane to Warrenton.. Very nice place to Walk and see.. Food was great every place We went.. Go see It !!!
Really moving and in a beautiful spot. Spending a few minutes here will tell you a lot about the history of this community including a few surprises (like this was the birthplace of the Ghadar party for an independent India). This is a memorial, not a cemetery but respect is still appropriate when youre here.
A fun place to sit and watch the huge boats go under the bridge.
Very nice memorial.
Breathtaking. The amount of history in this minipark is rich.
Very tastefully excecuted.
Cool display on coast gaurd
I have 4 family members on this wall and it is a great place to remember and honor them.
Very impressive and touched by the conscientiousness in remembering and honoring all types of marine history by individuals.
Took so long...slow service...but ok food
Not much here but I guess its worth stopping and taking a picture of your walking through
We looked on the memorial wall for those we knew in life...
A beautiful, peaceful place to visit.

Nice, neat small park and memorial wall
Its sad but to see some of my fallen brothers from my union on the wall was a nice way to Memorialize them
Its a good place to morn the death of people
Interesting place
Beautiful memorial to the local maritime industry, and lost loved ones.
Beautiful little park
Very beautiful
Small, moving memorial to those in the broader fishing and maritime world. Just under the bridge. Not worth a detour but if your strolling along the river walk, spend a few minutes appreciating those who contributed to the town and its industry.
Homeless hanging around
Nice

Worth the visit
Respect.
