Such a beautiful drive! Most leaves are gone from the trees by now, but on cold days like today, there were plenty of shady spots with icicles that had formed overnight. Definitely worth the drive for the breathtaking vistas!

Just a lovely stop to stop off of Blue Ridge Parkway and see the natural valleys and smooth mountains. Unfortunately Craggy Pinnacle was closed thanks to hurricane Zeta damage so this and a few other stops had to do. Still very beautiful.

My favorite overlook.. The higher overlooks are awesome but this one shows all of east asheville and has the mall and tunnel rd... Along with amazing sunsets and beautiful mountain view... Its also right across from a steep yet awesome trail to hike...love this place and have spent many hours sitting and meditating or out on a date... A must see!!

Great lookout spot, lots of viewers just hanging out admiring the awsomness of the mountains from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Families and friends just in awe of the views, some picnicking and some passing through.

Great overlook with a large view. A lot of the overlooks have overgrown but here you can see the farms down below and during the fall and winter you can see across to the parkway as it winds its way up the adjacent mountain.

My gosh, the views from here are absolutely stunning and simply amazing. You could see the weather system just come in from one Mountain Ridge to another and you truly start to understand why they call it, the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountain Range. Both young and old alike would definitely like this. If you are a photographer make sure you have your camera ready because you will definitely want one for sure!

Very nice. Just be careful if you are not from the area, as the people that are, drive at a faster pace than you probably will. That can get frustrating because you are going up a large mountain with curvy roads.

The Tanbark Ridge overlook is a particularly scenic view point in the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville. This is a great place to make stop for some photography, or selfie shooting in the age of Instagram and Tiktok. Convenient parking, not a bad spot for a picnic lunch break either.

Love it! So far, this is the most beautiful place Ive had the pleasure of visiting! I lived in colorado springs at the foot of the rockies and it doesnt hold a candle to the blue ridge mountains, the elevation, where i was driving is actually higher than parts of the rockies as well! Ill be going back as much as possible! Beautiful!!

You dont have to drive all the way to West Virginia to enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway. Every time I go to Asheville I try to drive at least four twenty or Thirty miles. I go north on the Blue Ridge which takes me totally out of the way to South Carolina and then I drive back from South Carolina to get home. Its worth the extra two or three hours. My children love it and were always awestruck.

Grand view of a picturesque farm valley, as well as Mt. Mitchell. I go there to read, unwind, pick up trash, and take pictures for visiters when they want everyone in the shot. Also, its a grand place to watch weather events, and astronomical events at night.Have fun, and dont litter (even cigarette butts).....there is a convenient trash reciprocal.NO RESTROOMS
