I gave this 4 stars because of Tads energy and knowledge of the legends and history of the area. I have been on other ghost tours and fully expected it to be full history and local lore. My issue was the crowd was way too large for me personally and the raucous night life with the loud cars proved distracting. If you dont mind large crowds and listening from afar to your guide as loud mufflers and music go by then Tad is your guy. None of these thing were foreseeable for my husband and I. Tad is truly a talented and energetic storyteller. The setting just wasnt for us. With that being said, you may love your experience. Ill stick to smaller groups and lesson learned I will ask questions in the future before booking a tour regarding group size, the area itself, etc.

We took our tour last night with Brian and it was fabulous. I am so happy we got him as our guide. He is a wonderful storyteller and his passion is contagious! We learned so much cool history about Asheville and the surrounding areas and it had the perfect amount of paranormal. We’re sharing with our family and friends and will definitely do this again when we return!

The tour was full of eerie stories which was expected, but I also learned a lot about the history and background of how Asheville came to be. Our guide, Tad, was very knowledgeable and animated story teller. Our tour was on a Sunday night, and there were about 50 people. Social distancing was a little challenging at times, but they strongly encouraged the use of masks and the vast majority of people complied. It was easy enough to avoid the small handful of people that did not wear a mask. The guide was wearing a mask between each stop and only removed it at each stop along the tour when he was a safe distance away.

At first I missed the beginning bc the mmeting map given and the original map were completely different. I chose this tour bc the location correlated with the other events my boyfriend and I were doing earlier that day. HOWEVER, we stumbled upon a tour that just started and we were allowed to join in. McLeod was his name..he was very kind, knowledgeable and witty. I had a great time and definitely recommend it...just keep in mind that they send a map in your conformation email and it might be different from the one on the website.

The tour was not as detailed or specifically related to Asheville and could have been done anywhere. We were extremely disappointed at the end when we asked about the museum tour that was supposed to be a part of the tour and found out it is no longer included. The site clearly stated that the museum tour was included, the tour guide said Oh we have been trying to get that taken off our site for 5 months now. I said you still could have listed that fact in your confirmation e-mail. Definitely not worth the money, would not recommend or go again!

Was looking for something for my daughter and I to do since we had a car rental for the weekend for a different event the previous day. Found this online last minute and had just enough time to drive from the other side of Greensboro to make the tour. So glad we did because it was not a disappointment. Even got to enjoy a little bit of the Asheville nightlife! Great experience and great town!

Our tour guide,BRIAN, made Asheville come alive. Learned a LOT of Asheville history. Which tied in the ghost stories and experiences better. Had an incredible time on this tour, very historically informative and good exercise. As a local to Asheville I can say it is still very interesting and fun even if it is just to see all the tourists take spooky pictures. I will give the warning that to those who are not used to walking long distances or up hills there could be some issues with the walking tour though our Guide was very kind to wait for the slower individuals catch up, Highly recommend.

This ghost tour was ok, I’m not sure why it has such high reviews. I’ve been on a few ghost tours in different cities and this tour wasn’t the best. The guide met with us and gave us all umbrellas because we had some storms forecast that evening. My umbrella ended up being broken and didn’t work to well lol. Some of the facts you learn are true but may of the ghost facts are fabricated as I called around and checked the next day. You will walk a few miles on this tour so have on some good walking shoes.

Went tonight with my girlfriend. I’ve done many ghost tours all over the country and this was by far the best one I’ve ever been on. Lots of interesting history about the city infused with some of the most terrifying paranormal occurrences I’ve even heard. Our guide (Brian) was very enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. You could tell he knew what he was talking about and wasn’t simply reciting a script. The locations you go can feel pretty eerie and the museum at the very end has some very bizarre and fascinating items. I would go again on my next visit to the city. For anyone with the slightest interest in the paranormal, I couldn’t recommend this tour more highly.

The classic walking tour is good. Not only will you hear ghost stories, but also, you will learn a lot of history of the city. Brian was a great tour guide. I would give it a 5 but meeting for the tour was a little aggravating. We walked to the tour, arriving 45 minutes early. We had walked a lot that day. We had been instructed to meet in the alley behind the masonic temple. Since the building appeared to be quiet and empty, I didnt see a no loitering sign, I decided to rest prior to the tour starting. I have been having therapy for my back and hip for a year. I am working hard to re-gain my strength. The other guide approached us asking if we would be doing the tour. He then told me not to sit on those steps and to go stand in the alley. I told him I didnt think it started for a while, so I would really like to rest first. He said he wasnt trying to be the police but when people are there, they would get mad over it. I sort of felt the way an employee would feel if their boss told them they couldnt be sitting, but their shift doesnt start for 30 more minutes. I just feel like what I was doing as a pedestrian before the group met shouldnt have been of their concern. Then when we got to the alley, we had to make sure not to stand anywhere except the alley because tenants in neighboring apartments would get mad. So, if you take this tour, dont show up too early unless you want to stand in one place the entire time you are waiting. Do not sit on those steps. Do not stand near the neighboring apartment building. Also, use the bathroom because there is nowhere to go before or during the tour. If there were a better starting place, I would have given it 5 stars. Brian was a good story teller.

The tour is fun, funny, thoughtful and packed with fascinating information about Ashevilles history. As explained at the beginning of the tour, the lens through which the paranormal is viewed is a historical one. This not only adds context to the surroundings, but also makes the stories come alive (or at least resurrected). Great storytelling!

I have been on a lot of ghost tours all over the country. At the beginning of the tour, the tour guide brags about how this ghost tour wont be like any other ghost tour youve ever been on. Well...he was right. I really dont want to bad-mouth too much, but this tour is more like a city and architectural history tour with a dash of ghost story thrown in. Make sure to wear hiking boots and bring plenty of water, too. The tour is very hilly; But, I mean...its Asheville...its the mountains. The museum is fabulously corny. It has a lot of local evidence of hauntings and stuff. It reminds me of a Route 66 tourist trap location...but really, its great.

I booked with some friends, and we all really enjoyed this tour. Tad was our guide, and he was very good. He is likeable and is a skillful storyteller about Ashevilles history and paranormal doings. He explained what makes Asheville a unique town unlike any other in North Carolina or, indeed, the South, and relates that to the deaths that led to current hauntings. Tad has a diverse academic background and works professionally as a folklore and occult researcher, all of which certainly enhance the depth and quality of his tour.I chose this original Haunted Asheville ghost tour because it was developed by Joshua P. Warren, who is an internationally known researcher in many aspects of the paranormal and the occult. If you have any deep interest or expertise in these subjects, this is definitely the tour you want to take, because all of the guides are engaged professionally with this subject. If I re-visit Asheville, Id take it again, and I recommend it to all visitors interested in historical hauntings.
