BE WARY....don’t be fooled. At first you may be impressed by the facility. Pre-sale service was good as well. Once we paid their very full prices for a number of works, the situation changed. Client satisfaction was not on the radar. We have done business with galleries for 30 years. We count gallery owners and artists as some of our closest friends. We were hopeful to continue that tradition, but to the contrary we experienced total disappointment and dissatisfaction. Visit the museum but don’t buy.

Lots of wonderful art on display! Some if it was definitely quirky and esoteric, but others were more the normal type that someone actually put a lot of thought, time, and effort into making realistic and beautiful! The variety was great, because just when you thought you saw it all, something new was around the corner or up the stairs!

Wonderful large gallery - 3 levels- with so much interesting and special artwork. I still wish I had purchased a particular piece I admired. I immediately told friends that if ever in the area, they should make a point to visit this art gallery.

This is a beautiful, three floor, art gallery. I wish we had visited here before. Lovely paintings, glass, and pottery. Plenty of art to admire and lots of space to see each item in an enjoyable setting.

My favorite art gallery in town. I try to go every time a new exhibit is installed and have a new and wonderful experience each time. It will continue to be one of my “must see” recommendations when I have visitors in town. Three floors to explore and welcoming staff. Not “stuffy” or pretentious and the quality of artistic work is inspiring.

3 floors of contemporary art. I was there for at least an hour and a half and could have spent more but I didnt have time. If you want to spend time looking at art I highly recommend blue spiral one. If you are in from out of town this is one of the first galleries in Asheville. It is one of the reasons Asheville is what it is today.

Great gallery, 3 floors. Beware though, called to ask about wheelchair accessible, was told yes, and they are NOT. Our wheelchair person wasnt able to go on the 3rd or 1st floor. Great local artists represented. Interesting displays!

Beautiful gallery with lovely arranged art work from paintings, lithography, printmaking, ceramics, and wood objects. Very large with at least 2 levels and multiple rooms on the levels. Nicely arranged with a lot of space between pieces. Even if youre not buying any art just about as good as going to an art museum for local artists.

Art is judged by some as wonderful and others as hideoys. There were a few nice pieces but too many nudes...

We visited this lovely art gallery while in town during the Thanksgiving holiday. We were very impressed with the exhibitions. This was certainly an interesting way to break up some of the monotony of restaurants and breweries in Asheville. We would certainly stop by again on future visits.

With galleries like this, who needs museums? Ok, ok, we still need museums, but this gallery is amazing. I could literally spend hours here... and could also easily spend thousands of dollars if I had the dollars to spend. When that day comes, I look forward to purchasing art at Blue Spiral. And in the meantime, I will enjoy this exceptional display of the truly world-class creative beauty Asheville has to offer.

I always enjoy visiting Blue Spiral. On my last visit I nearly bought something by their featured artist. However I wish they served alcohol and maybe sold hamburgers. Hot dogs or corn dogs with chips or French fries would be good too.

Blue Spiral is one the best (and oldest) galleries in Asheville. Its three floors of art are amazing and the artist they highlight are fantastic. I used to visit Asheville as a tourist and this gallery was on our must visit list every time we came. Now that I live here I love attending their gallery openings whenever I can.I recently went to an opening where they highlighted many local artist from the Asheville River Arts district and it was one of the best gallery openings that I have ever been too. It was well attended. Based on the quality of the work being shown, that is no surprise.

Within the bright, open space, the Blue Spiral 1 gallery showcases myriad works upon three levels in their building. I loved the diversity of mediums and perspectives present. As a visitor from Milwaukee, WI, I really enjoyed my experience in the Blue Spiral 1 among the general exhibit, native exhibit, and varied special exhibits offered. Its also right in the middle of the action in downtown Asheville!

Gigantic art gallery full of many kinds of art. VERY EXPENSIVE. As both an artist and art collector I found some of the art perplexing, one example would be what appears to be pages ripped from a text book, covered in handwritten, misspelled notes framed and for sale to the tune of $500 or more. I dont get it. Some of the work is gorgeous, creative and simply amazing but all very pricey. Made for an enjoyable stop on a rainy afternoon

Fantastic gallery for a town like Asheville. They do an amazing job of showcasing regional artist that can completely hold their own on a national stage. Always a great mix of creative expression and most of their artists are very reasonably priced. Ive been visiting this gallery for almost 20 years and Ive never been disappointed.

Three floors of high quality arts with new artists and works featured once a quarter or so. I visit about four times a year and am always delighted. Theres a wide range of mediums: screenprints, woodcuts, photographs, quilts, watercolor, sculpture, glass, ... its so easy to spend an hour breathing it all in.

We are so fortunate to have this amazing gallery in Asheville. This place carries some of my favorite local artists, like Robert Johnson, as well as an amazing selection of other modern artists in diverse mediums, including paintings, ceramics, wood, and glass. There are three floors and multiple galleries to check out so give yourself plenty of time to browse. This has got to be one of the premier galleries in the USA so dont miss it.

We visit this gallery often when we are in the Asheville area. They have a very broad range of artwork. Painting, glasswork, ceramics, wooden pieces, whatever your interest is, they probably have some of it. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.This would be a nice addition to you Asheville visit.

As we contemplate moving from the Washington, DC area to Hendersonville, NC, we hoped Asheville would have a quality art experience to offer. Even though the Asheville Art Museum virtually doesnt exist, a fabulous alternative does! We were knocked out by the sophisticated museum-quality spaces and collections of the Spiral 1 Gallery! It is a MUST experience for art and craft lovers.
