Like if dave and busters was a bowling alley. It might have a personality but its one that was bought not one that was developed by the community. The old Asbury lanes was a gem that cant be recreated.
I went for a special event. The event itself was nice. I enjoyed atmosphere. The drinks are overpriced and terrible. The food was just ok.
Unique and fun experience for me. The games were fun, and the drinks were great. Fun crowd, also.
This is now one of my favorite night clubs. They nailed the re launch of this iconic landmark. You can Bowl, dance and consume beverages and have a great time here. What is amazing is that you have a wide range of age groups and it doesnt seem to matter, people are just having a good time. The sound system is excellent, you can enjoy the music and still carry a conversation. I was in attendance for a private event at this venue and I think they knocked it out of the park. I will be back for sure this summer.
This place is so so so great! We had a lot of fun! The Asbury lines are great to have some drinks and bowling time. In the afternoon can be a lot of children so be aware of it! The lines are $30 for 30min we played 1h but time go very very fast! The dinner is an amazing calm place in cold weather I am not sure how is on summer ️ I will have to go back!We had a delicious burger for $12 and some coffee.I really recommend this place.
This is a great spot to see live music! Even the back row is close enough to see the facial expressions of the performers! Drinks are decently priced for this kind of venue. Id be willing to bowl there too!
Great place to hang out and chill, staff amazing, Jeff the Chef makes the best food and his waffles were the lightest Ive had. Andrew the barman was very accomadating and great to chat to.
Amazing venue for a concert! Got from row spots and was able to enjoy the performance thoroughly!! The lightening was impressive and truly enhanced the performance! There was a bar (Im underage so I cant vouch for pricing or anything) that was styled nicely. All in all, wonderful, personal venue.
It was my first time there tonight. The place is funky, fun and trendy. Its got a great feel, a mix of industry, old charm and grunge. Its a great spot for events. Much more than a bowling alley. The speaker walls are really cool.
Wonderfully tiny venue if you can catch a band you want to see (chkchkchk!!!)
Great fun place excellent drinks & excitement
Great place to see a show. Intimate space for a concert and there is not a bad seat in the house. Standard bar offerings as well as some local craft brews. The coat check is a little over priced at 5 dollars but drinks and food seemed like a good value. Staff was very friendly and I wouldnt hesitate to go back.
Bar/concert venue setup with a few bowling lanes. Bowling is a bit expensive. Looks great and layout is different from the renovations. Diner is good - mostly appetizer available during the day.
What a great venue! Good beer, full bar, not a bad seat in the house, slick decor - all together a great spot to see a show. Or bowl, one assumes. I cant speak to the quality of the diner but the opening act we saw recommended the meatloaf.
Just chowed down phenomenal chicken sliders aka the dude, with a side of kingpin burger. Super yummy. Awesome that they have a kid friendly menu for my 3 year old. Fun, retro diner atmosphere. Lively, with great customer service! Two
Ate lunch here. Had the tuna melt that was good. They also serve alcohol which is nice. Didnt get a chance to bowl as there are only 2 lanes. Maybe next time?
Great place to see a show! Brand new and all redone totally different than what I Remember.... The best part about it is that you can stand in front of the stage and not lose your hearing with a great sound
Very cool place! Definitely want to go back and see some live music.
Cool spot to hang out.Put your name in BEFORE you intend to bowl since very busy (2 hours). Cool inside bars and little food window to get snacks. Awesome bean bag chairs to sit on.Can choose to bowl for half hour or hour.Awesome vibe. Have never been to the old lanes but awesome to be at now!I’ll be back!!EDIT: DJ at the diner for Sunday brunch is a great touch! Food also really good for brunch!
Wonderfully Romantic and Mature....
Great hangout spot with a killer bar and incredible diner. I highly recommend the hot honey fried chicken!
Special shout out to the entire staff at Asbury Lanes for being so friendly, accommodating & just overall welcoming. ️From the sound engineers to Geri (I’m sorry if I misspelled), who seemingly made meeting each band’s needs look easy & who’s smile was infectious. Endless gratitude! The music & the experience is truly a priority at Asbury Lanes.
This place rocks! Awesome concerts and great food. By far one of the coolest places in town.
Excellent venue! Sound was great, environment was also.
I really like this place it has a really retro feel to the whole place. I would necassery call it a bowling alley but more of a venue. There are only 3 bowling lanes but it is really cool
I was COMPELLED to write a review on the vegan patty melt I ordered from there last night because holy (not a) cow...it was bomb. Great place to bowl with friends, catch a show or grab a bite! Awesome atmosphere.
We went to catch a rock n roll show...5 cool known guitar bands rocked the house. Staff courteous & friendly, venue clean and attractive and the 2 big bars served up good, reasonably priced drinks. Didnt try the attached, mini diner but people seemed to be enjoying. Same with the mini bowling alley. I thought the sound system was good, despite some others comments. Id readily go again if I wanted to see & hear the artist. It wasnt too hard to find paid street parking about a 10 minute walk away, but it WOULD be nice if Asbury Lanes could figure out how to provide adjacent parking.
Great diner off the boardwalk with solid food and service
This is honestly one of the coolest and best venues Ive ever been in.
Had been to the Diner once before and it was quite decent, so when some friends and I were looking for a late-night bite I unfortunately suggested this spot.My second visit turned out rather disappointing and embarrassing.Apparently we had gotten there too late for the regular menu and were stuck with the late-night fryolator selections. That was disappointing, but the food was actually fine for what it was. At least the fryer was to temperature. The service, however (or lack of it) was thoroughly appalling and totally lackadaisical. It was almost impossible to even place our order let alone get any attention once we had our fried food fiesta before us.It would be really difficult for me to recommend this spot again. I might be persuaded to give it another try earlier in the evening, but definitely never again in the late hours.
Had the special, a seasoned beef, egg, avocado, salsa and sour cream burrito. I was a little skeptical, but the waitress was very reassuring. I sure was glad I took her advice and got the burrito after all. It was delicious! Its something I definitely would get again.
The coolest bowling ally I have ever been! It tops anything I ever went to, the whole atmosphere is amazing and gets you in the mood for some game time! The bar is an amazing addition as you can enjoy a drink while playing.Prices:Drinks: paid 18$ for beer + double jack & coke. (Plus tip).Game: 10$ each for an hour.Shoes: 5$ rental. One thing I didnt like is that there are only two lanes in the whole place which makes the waiting time a bit annoying if it is a bit crowdy.
It looks nothing like it used to, so theres a bit of shock when you enter, but its a great venue. Sound is good, beers are cold.
Great venue for seeing live music. Very different from the old Asbury Lanes. More geared towards bands than bowling now, though they still have 5 or 6 bowling alleys. Good sight lines to the stage from just about anywhere on the floor. Will definitely be back!
Cool music venue, great food, friendly staff
Yo a member of one of the sets walked in on me in a stall bc the lock wouldnt work properly lmao dong 10/10
I love this place because you can bowl, eat & enjoy live bands! The staff is great & theres plenty of room to dance!
Venue:5 stars I give this venue a complete five stars. The show we went to see was great. I liked how it was a mix of the old bowling alley and the new bowling alley. Will be back again for a show!Diner:1 star The diner is a completely different story from the venue. It took 20 minutes to get asked for drinks and it took another 30 minutes to actually get our drinks. There was only one person working, so it was completely understaffed. Took an hour to get two sandwiches, when it wasnt even that busy. Definitely will not be back at the diner.
The real deal, great sound system, cool atmosphere, nice bar, and you can frickin bowl. What else do you need? What really nailed it for me was the staff, it was hot and humid out and they provided free endless pitchers of ice water and cups. A real class act.
I really didnt want to like coming here. As a kid I came here all the time and it was a great place. It was one of my favorites. I really wanted to hate the new place, and I did when the first drawings and artist concepts came out. All of the venues we went to when we were young are disappearing. No more old Asbury Lanes. No more CBGBS. No more Ritz. No more Bottom Line. No more City Gardens. No more Limelight. No more Birch Hill. No more Mars Bar. Etc. You know what though, its different, think of it as a new venue if you want to bash on it because its not the old Lanes, fine. Dont go if you dont support iStar. But you are also hurting the local music scene. I miss the old place too. Drink prices are pretty reasonable, sound system is great, staff is friendly and best of all the bathrooms are clean. As they go forward I would like to see more of what made Asbury Lanes the place it was. Make sure you know your demographic and who has disposable income.
The sound system was really good and drinks were really good at a regular price. There was good space and even though there was bowling in the background it didnt take away from any of the music
A lot of fun. Good drinks. Good appetizers.
Fun local venue for seeing concerts. Also a really cool place to go bowling with friends. Bar staff is friendly. Interior is fun and interesting.
Unique place. Got to reserve a lane for bowling with some friends while having drinks and listening to live music. Did not get a chance to eat at the attached diner.
Talk about a great place.. First time there, DJ played great music. We played ping-pong while we waited for a bowling Lane.. Believe that a bowling Lane in Asbury Park. One of the most eclectic places Ive ever been in, theres even a diner inside the building.. Its also a concert venue. We had a great time.
This was definitely one of the coolest venues Ive ever been to. Its not huge, but it has really great character. The wall of speakers on either side of the stage is awesome, the bartenders were quick, professional, and super nice. The only negative thing I can say is it took the first few songs of the headliner for the sounds crew to turn the lead mic up enough... Once they did though
Concert venue. Was once a punk rock place. Gentrified now. They left a few lanes that are a waste of space. Nice looking bar and stage. Good bands now and then.
Great job on the remodeling
Awesome venue, saw Railroad Earth performance and it was amazing
Great bowling, cool staff, awesome music BUT.....unlike Brooklyn Bowl in NY who tapped the Blue Ribbon fried chicken chef, the food is not great. Good, but not great. If you dont understand what I am saying, then head to Brooklyn Bowl and order the fried chicken. Then youll understand. It only takes one dish to have people coming back all the time. Maybe some late night bowling and a Franks pork roll egg and cheese on an onion roll? Im just saying...
Food is really bad, overpriced and they give you very little of it. Truly bizarrely ungenerous portions. Also it was extremely loud inside. Other than that it’s great...server was super nice though!
Cool place to go see a concert, I had a great time. Definitely more of s party place than for serious bowlers. The staff was nice and they seem to know how to out on a good rock concert. I will definitely go back in the future for another concert
Bowling, food, and music. I didnt try the first two, but I did spend a great evening watching the gang of four. Great atmosphere and sound. Wait for it: a bowling ball hitting pins will add a sense of urgency to a lyric that you wont hear anywhere else.
They use tooany flashing lights making the show youre trying to watch unenjoyable. Some of us cant tolerate that. Cool iron the flashing lights.
This is an awesome venue for shows! Could see the stage well from anywhere I stood and the sound was good too! The drinks werent super overpriced like they usually are at shows. And you could actually easily get a drink at the bar, so that was great as well! Also just a great place to go and hang out for a bit! When there isnt a show they have bean bags and chairs set up on the floor. Plus, you could even bowl or grab a bite at the diner! Love this place! A new Asbury favorite!
This is my new favorite club in Asbury..5 stars doesmt say enough about how awesome this venue is
Had a great time listening to the band. Fun place to go.
What an awesome venue! Great local beer selection, at reasonable prices. Saw a live show there and the acoustics were fantastic. Will be back for sure. Next time, we’ll try the bowling!
Nice place. Was surprised how nice it was inside. Classy bars.
I was here for a concert. The sound equipment is good and acoustics are surprisingly decent. Prices at the bar are fair.Overall a good venue to see your favorite bands at. Ill definitely be looking out for future shows here.
Nice bar and music venue...and I bowling alley!
Amazing atmosphere and venue with great food too best part is the shakes!!
I had a personal connection to the old place and was sad to see it go, but they really did a good job with the remodel. The bowling lanes seemed a little slick to be honest if you’re serious about your bowling but still a great environment to hang and bowl with friends. The bar setup is great and the stage is awesome. I’ve seen a couple shows with the new setup, the acoustics are great.
Great staff cool venue
The lanes were closed for an event when I went but the diner was great!
Liked it .nice new design great sound!. But, do miss the old venue.this one is totally different. Dont expect many similarities if you used to go to the old one.
Went to see Doro and warlock awesome for a small concert venue felt like I was back in the 80s!
Cool venue and good diner. Pork roll waffle sandwich is decadent deliciousness.
Sooooo rad! Staff is awesome and solid venue. What a gem! grabbed takeout at diner and food was quick and delicious. I asked for a cocktail while I waited and the single server on deck was soo cool and accommodating. They didnt have a specific cocktail menu, but they hooked up my request of rum punch on the fly, and it was
Great design. Professional bartenders. This is a very welcome addition to the Asbury Park music scene.
Music was great! They call their eatery a diner but only offer limited bar foods. Eat before/after you go if you have dietary restrictions.
The service at the bar is the. actual. worst. diner food is good
This is a review of the diner; the bar looks cool, will probably bowl there with kids in the future and will want to see a show there as well, after which I will update, but we only walked through that part. As for the diner, excellent experience. Went for early (5pm) weekday dinner with three kids (7, 8 & 9). They all enjoyed the food (pancakes, mac & cheese, burger & fries, all of which looked great). The fries were phenomenal and the vegan impossible burger I got was quite tasty. They also had a small but very good, local tap list. Best part though was the service. Our waitress, Jerry, was fantastic and friendly, and so was all the other staff. No five stars because prices on some items were very high, and the diner area is very small, but I will definitely be back.
Place was great. Last band was awesome tonight. @UMightbeMine. I appreciate original music.
Went to the diner after a full day of hanging around 1am. Food was tasty. Also have a concert hall and a few bowling lanes. Kool venue.
Pleasantly surprised. Went for concert. No bowling or food. Bar was maybe understaffed, but not long wait. Used wood from old lanes for hardwood flooring. Great sound from sound system for concerts.
What a unique venue for a concert. We had the pleasure of seeing Myles Kennedy there over the weekend and we really had a great time. Plenty of room and we even found a seat so we didnt have to stand the whole night. We ate at the diner on one other occasion and the grilled cheese sandwich was one of the best Ive had in a while. I guess all thats left is to bowl a few games. Check it out if you can. I highly recommend it.
This venue is pretty cool. The location is great and the renovation makes the place look really clean and slick. However if you used to frequent this place like I used to keep in mind that the grittines and griminess is completely gone. And the other thing is the stage has moved which I personally dont like. It felt too cramped because it was right next to the bar. However on the whole I liked it. The water was free and the food was decent.
Cool spot to hang out and listen to live music while you bowl. It wasnt very busy when I was there, but I can see that it will draw a crowd. Food was really good, and the service was excellent.
Standing up to see a show, but otherwise comfortable. Good air conditioning and ventilation.
Great place! Nice venue for music and eats and bowling!!
Atmosphere was cute but apparently the menu changes at 12am from a full menu to literally nothing.
Bar was good. Unable to bowl because of a private party but Im sure its cool.
Seize the Day played and they were awesome!Diner is good food, need a bigger menu. The stage is setup nicely too.
IMPOSSIBLE BURGER! Its so vegan and so good. Kyla, our server, was great. The staff was dancing to Motown as they were welcoming us...not in a corny way either, but a hey! Were excited to be here way. Great option for vegans, especially if theyre going to be open 24/7. Plus, Asbury is in need for a late night food spot. * This review is strictly for the diner, as we didnt enter into the actual lanes. *
What a great music venue. Amazing sound, well designed, bars plentiful. Nice ice cold A/C on a crazy hot day. This was a much needed addition to the Asbury Park music scene. Hope it gives the Stone Pony a little incentive to step up their game.
Great venue for shows. Loved how if the band stopped playing for a minute youd hear the pins falling in the background from the lanes in the back. Didnt try the food but the beer was super reasonably priced and had a good selection.
Good times and great staff, especially at the bowling desk. Bowling, DJ, and ping pong.
This place was awesome! I loved the layout and the theme. The staff were super friendly. Ive been to a lot of venues and definitely give these guys props. I hope to see more shows here soon.
Great music venue. Loved that there were pitchers of water on the bar!
Great music venue, very fairly priced beers
Awesome place. nicely remodeled to include a band stage, two bars and food from the Asbury Lanes next door. Apparently you have to go to the diner next door to eat, then go to the bowling alley if you want to drink...kind of a bummer. I guess if you bowl then you can get appetizers...appetizers at the bar would be a nice upgrade.
Great venue! Friendly security. Hopefully the second bar will be open next time.
45 min and still do not have an over priced beer. Sold out show and 3 bartenders. I will never return!!!
Amazing concert with Meat Puppets...Diner open 24 /7 great deal and food. Wonderful atmosphere !
I saw Hawthorne Heights & Silverstein and the sound was excellent. The stage is set up a bit high where even if youre short, like I am, I could still see. Id definitely go see another show there
The place looks amazing since the remodel. The stage and surrounding area looks awesome. The drinks are good and the little diner serves up some good food. The new bowling lanes also look great. Everything about the building from the mural on the outside to the bathrooms inside to the diner has all impressed me. The wall of old amps along the stage is sick. Really reccomend checking this place out.
