A fun experience although wasnt as advertised in photos. The trees and brush have grown so high, preventing you from seeing the beautiful creek. They stated that the bridge was 40 feet high....although because of all the brush/trees, it doesnt look high up at all. However there is a historical building worth checking out.
Loved the atmosphere, very quiet and beautiful. The Village is an amazing historic town. An awesome place to take a picnic lunch and spend the whole day just walking around and learning fun facts.
Beautiful place! The roosters nesting up in the trees close by...the running stream underneath the bridge!!
Sturdy historical bridge. Sways a bit as the name suggests but is reinforced on both sides to keep from being too hair-raising.
Going across this bridge is fun in the early morning hours, and safe! Made in the USA
Love this town and I love this bridge. It really feela pretty unstable.
Its great to look over the creek
Unique walking bridge across a lush creek in the middle of a cozy town
Nice small bridge surrounded by plants and a lively small downtown
This park is pretty. Walking across the swinging bridge feels like a test of courage but its still a great experience.
Quiet and nice play to make a stop, not much more to do but its nice for kids.
Very interesting. The platform, siding and structural frame are made of wood and supported with wire cables that run from end to end and tied to deadman. Maximum of 5 persons per crossing. It really swings and moves up and down but very safe.
Something of an institution in Arroyo Grande, a walk across the swinging bridge. View the creek below, watch the resident roosters, stroll around the shops on the main drag or into the old residential section known as the Village of A G.
Its an easy way to get to and from the Saturday Farmers Market.
It is so fun and beautiful. And theres wild roosters.
Unique downtown area
Very nice but a bit short. Go at night it is really nice and peaceful. Max 5 people on at any one given time!!
Very interesting and historic. There is a small hiking trail down below with some picnic tables if interested in spending time in nature and there is a nice river stream.
Beautiful old walking bridge in the middle of Arroyo Grande historic village. Kids especially love crossing this bridge.
Very nice place to walk about, visit with Roosters and have an incredible lunch or ice cream within walking distance!!!!
Basic historical bridge that crosses over river. Nice to take your kids to cross over and also go down to the river below. Finally has water flowing at a good rate after the good amount of rain we had.
I like it, moves a lot, scary for some
I have loved this since early childhood! Beware: The truly faint of heart will feel shook up. Those who have walked it as long as I have know it has been reinforced and its manic swinging days are behind it.
Very cool spot
The Village of Arroyo Grande is great. Swinging bridge is almost the only one there is. Theres a park on both ends with a gazebo and a band box.
Nice place for quick stop to stretch your legs. Easy to park and relax on a bench.
Not Disney but OK for kids
Its just fun to walk across the swinging bridge. Its a simple thing to do that is satisfying somehow.I didnt go to the bridge specifically. After a few garage sales in the neighborhood I stopped in the parking lot next to it to let my dog out.More fun than the bridge was watching her react to the chickens? and roosters? that roam freely throughout the lot and creek area. Each bird has a distinct personality which seem to match their beautiful feather colors.Dazee was mesmerized. She wanted off leash so badly to play (chase) with them. I didnt unleash her even though I knew she wouldnt hurt them. It would have created too much of a scene. If youre in the area you should stop by for a bit. Its worth it. And if youre not from the area, you should check out some of the cool little stores as well.
I pick my son up there. He attends Paulding middle school. It is super easy and fast. Beat the traffic.
This is at pismo beach during the strawberry festival. There was a live cover band playing, camel rides, all sorts of strawberry delights, and venders with creative and crafty things. If you love the coast, and you cant live without strawberries, you have to mark your calender for this festival.
Its a foot bridge crossing
I wonder how many people have died on this bridge.
Relatively short pedestrian bridge linking Heritage Square Park to Centennial Park. Theres quite a bit of swing to the bridge in the middle section so be careful if you have motion issues.
Cool bridge but smaller than i expected and smells funny
Took the stroll across the bridge to find a historical school house. What a pleasant surprise b
Great place to visit historical buildings beautiful place
Its a bridge that swings! Well, kinda. It sways. A swinging bridge would be scary from that height. Fun for all ages.
Very swingy Bridge
An old town with a swinging bridge maintains its nostalgia of 1800s.Arroyo Grande, California.
This is where my friends and I like to drop off our car to go on a nice hike
Find this bridge in the city of arroyo grande village make sure you make it move
Nice to have a picnic lunch and take a leisurely walk across the swinging bridge and surrounding area.
Downtown Arroyo Grande, Cal. The area has a quiet relaxing feel to it. A park and a parking right next to it. Roosters and Hens supply some entertainment while you mozy around. Antique stores in the area also.
Fun
Cool tranquil lil spot in the village of AG...
Super fun to walk on. Beautiful setting.
Just a fun thing to do with kids and there are roosters everywhere! Our 12 year old grandson enjoyed seeing it and walking across it. Remember, only 5 people allowed on the bridge at a time! :)
Old town of arroyo grande- small and quiet. Some antique stores, restaurants, park/Creek,etc.
This is a beautiful park with a variety of friendly Roosters walking around.
Loved it. It is Beautiful well visit again when I go back on vacation.
Crossing was fun reminded me of george of the jungle
If youre ever in the Central California Coast area and love history and quaint little towns, you have to check out the Swinging Bridge in Arroyo Grande.
Great scenery of the simple things that some how are satisfying and makes me feel at peace .Come on down and create your own experience.
Historical location,.to be respected as such.
Great scenery. On a swaying bridge.
Its a nice little setting, but not very good if youre wanting peace or tranquility. Its backed up to a parking lot so there are always cars going in and out. Good for kids but close to traffic.
Fun must see. Great to stretch the legs. Good for a nice walk.
This is a cool place to just stop for a little while to check out the chickens roaming around, the swinging bridge, and kids love the little orange tractor on the other side. Its right behind the main Street in town, so plenty of shops and restaurants.
Long with for food. Asked for fries on arrival. Didnt get them until after served meal. Bottomless fries? I dont think so. Unless you want to wait a whole hour after your meal done.
Cute bridge, fun atmosphere and good eats.
Very peaceful and relaxing. I especially love the and the that are the mascots to the Village in Arroyo Grande.
Really neat place for the kids and the atmosphere is awesome
Small swinging bridge more than 100 years old. Good to view
Apart from the crowing of roosters, a nice quiet place in the morning
Great scenery, quite and peaceful. Tons of roosters running free
Amazing Park and roosters everywhere!
Walking over the bridge is fun and a low-budget thrill Perhaps people really should respect the sign saying maximum 5 persons on bridge.
Make sure you dont get motion sickness :-)
Park has lots of rosters was really a great day
I helped restore this bridge in 1994/95 loading 300,000 lbs of sand bags to test weight
Dont know its purpose but it was cool to be on!
Twins had a blast on this
Fun walk to town.
Love the turkeys running around here. Its clean and beautifully kept and not crazy busy. I do wish there were closer restrooms.
The bridge is a blast to walk over...go try it!
A must stop when you drive by Arroyo Grande.
Tranquil place to relax
An old landmark in the village of Arroyo Grande...
Quaint and peaceful place with roosters roaming freely. Flowers often in bloom and generally a pleasant place to walk after eating lunch in the village.
Loved it mainly because it scared my wife so much.
Nice historical spot in the Village. Lots of roosters roaming to keep you amused.
I like the swinging bridge. Wish it had more sway
So neat to see the historic area, great place for the family.
