Courts are well lit and I love the dog park here. There are some people here that need to learn to control their kids from running onto the tennis court. One of these days their kid is going to get accidentally hit by a tennis ball.
This is a review for the dog park only.Ive been taking my 6.5 month puppy here for the past 2 months without much issues. Ive seen a few fights break out but they never escalated too much, owners are quick to intervene. My puppy has gotten herself into a few fights (some dogs dont like her) but again, owners are quick to intervene and most of the dogs here are very well-behaved. There is always a dog or two that resource guards, which I dont understand (why bring your dog here if they clearly have RG issues? Unsafe! This dog park is littered with tennis balls and some people bring and leave toys here) My puppy loves this park despite a few scary experiences. Ill continue to watch her like a hawk in the park until I know she can handle herself better and doesnt become an easy target due to her age and size, but despite the faults that come with all dog parks I like this place the best. Yes unfortunately some owners dont pick up after their dogs and the outskirts grass area has lots of dog poop thats long dried up. Didnt see it when it happened or ignored it, who knows. Ive seen one owner purposely ignore their own dogs poop (they clearly saw it happen, I was watching) and just leash him up and leave after before, so it happens. Ive tried out many dog parks in the area and this one is the one I always come back to, and the one my puppy feels at most ease with. Just be aware of whats good and bad. Always a fun day when she goes to the park.
Dog park area is great! Perfectly sized and lit at night by the tenni courts
For tennis, there are 4 courts, and 2 hit walls. Courts are very well kept, and north south. Lots of seating, benches, and some shade. The hit walls are caged in. Be wary of hitting balls out as there is a dog park on the other side of the fence; doing so may result in whatever ball hit over being lost/ruined.
Beautiful, animal friendly park at the middle of Arlington. Usually filled with folks picnicking, sin bathing, barbecuing, dogs running about. Also has tennis, basketball, volleyball courts, dog park, and a kids play area. It is right adjacent to a trail so you do see people biking and running as well! Definitely one of the better parks around the Arlington area.
Wonderful place to play Tennis or Basketball. The lights are perfect to play even after the sunset.
Large dog park with open space.
Well-lit at night, great trail, seats for sitting, and family/young folk friendly.
Serene and nearby with a few picnic tables, tennis courts, and a sand beach volleyball court.
Really nice park with lots of parking.
Great vibe, awesome dogs, and clean water
Great dog park and very secure and really nice pavillion
Nice walking park.
A small and wonderful dog park. It’s a lot easier to keep track of your dog in comparison to others in the area (i.e. Shirlington) and every owner I have seen has kept a watchful eye on their dog/been very nice.Parking is easy and water is available.
Super great park!! Slightly smaller, but really nice, lots of picnic tables, water, and a cool obstacle for dogs! Cramped parking, because theres a lot next to the park, like tennis courts, etc. Definitely going again!
Theres a trail where you can go for a walk and do jogging too.
Played tennis here Saturday evening starting 9:45pm. Parking was unavailable and had to resort to parking at guest parking at a nearby apartment complex and risk being towed. Tennis courts are in great condition and the lights are one of the best in the area.
There’s glass here. It was a really good time until we found the glass.
No one here wears a mask
Great dog park, Im there at least once a day. The other facilities seem really nice too. Well kept and clean. Great neighborhood feel!
Nice dog park lots of trees and water for dogs
Good medium sized dog park. Lots of tennis balls and sticks already there for dogs to play with. Dog water fountain is also there.
The dog park is one of the finest in Arlington. Shade, water, tennis balls galore, and two actual parks (one for smaller or aggressive dogs). I have been coming here for years and will say that the many guests that I’ve seen are very diligent about caring for their dogs both from when they are playing and picking up after. This park is also lighted and the only thing that could be added is a few more lights in the corners.
The canine community of the Penrose neighborhood have their very own dog park. And we all just love it!
Ive only come to here for the dog park and its a solid option for any dog owner with an energetic pup. Plenty of room and usually other owners there - plus you dont have to worry about any water fixtures or sand/gravel terrain like in Clarendon. On a side note - the tennis courts and basketball court look nice too, I just havent used them...
Nice clean park
Changed review from 5 stars to 4 stars because we keep finding glass in the dog park!!! Please be careful with your dogs and also pick up glass as you find it.Less large and crazy than Shirlington. Easier to watch your dog no matter where you are in the park. Clean. Good for medium and small dogs. Also, tennis court next door ensures plenty of tennis balls lying around
DO NOT bring your dog here: this place is a magnet for bad dogs and owners who don’t care, or can’t control them. We’ve had so many incidents here with mean & aggressive dogs I’ve lost count. There are signs on the gates leading into the dog park that ask for information on incidents that have occurred there. That’s how bad this place is. Keep your dog away!
Really nice small park: tennis, basketball, dog run, playground. Now has a trail to it for easier access.
Lots of activities and a good open space for kids to play in.
Great dog park with plenty of shade. The tennis courts look really well kept too. Theres also a couple fenced off walls for hitting by yourself.
Good dog park, smaller than Shirlington but still plenty of room for my dog to tire himself out. Large trees offer lots of shade. Water is available for the dogs as well.Best perk is the fence that is shared by a tennis court keeps the dog park stocked with an ample supply of balls.
Small play area and good tennis court
Lovely little dog park behind the tennis courts. Id be a bit reluctant if there were more than a couple dozen dogs inside, but thats never happened to me. Along with tables, benches, a cement walk and some grass - it has an eternal supply of fetching balls as long as players like me use the courts.
Great park. No bathrooms makes it tough to spend an extended time there tho.
Tennis courts are very good here. There are 2 fenced in practice walls. Downside is there are no restrooms or water fountain.
Nice place and very close to us we go every day
Very well-maintained tennis courts with a shelter for the middle courts. Very partner-less friendly as well since there are two dedicated courts for wall practice which are almost always free.
Great place to bring your dog in the morning if youre just passing through. Also, a few tennis courts.
I like because is very close of my apartment. Its clean and the installation are very good.
Dog Park is great. Well maintained and the other dogs are well behaved.
A quiet park with surprisingly good parking options.
A lot of area to run. Trees provide some shade during the day. Water for the dogs to drink. Public parking available.
Very well taken care of park with a basketball court, multiple tennis courts, a dog park, a play area for kids, and free parking.
Very nice park.
Funny
Very small
Ancient Radio Towers
Quiet, open, green, and dogs love it.
Tennis and Basketball Courts
Not a huge park but convenient
Clean. Well maintained.
Nice clean park
Love this park!
