One of the most beautiful places in Arlington. You are in the middle of an urban/suburban area, but its peaceful and largely quiet. The stream flows happily along, gurgling and sparkling and it is altogether appealing!
Small but really nice Trail that has recently been upgraded. While it is a bit too much money spent on a public park I still think its nice. I just wish priorities like education and health are prioritized instead of trails. For example, it would have been great if money was spent on ensuring that high schools in Arlington have enough space.
For a community forest park it is very immersive, refreshing, accommodating very accomodating. With amphitheater, pavillion, fire ring and lots of picnic tables and grills.
Loved this area. My two year old had a nice time playing in the creek. They had bathrooms, an amphitheater. Very nice, will go again.
Washed out part, bathroom closed for winter, I discovered on Where BathRoom app. Not as great as good weather and on season photos might suggest, but beats a lot of traffic and round the long way. Except for the hills, walking ok, on and off a bicycle a lot, hence why probably i didnt take that much for decade(s)... Ymmv. Multiple hour long attempts to upload stills and video up here have failed to put anything but 1 still up gMaps broken? CensorShip? Positivism Pollution?
I love this trail, very quiet, the sound of the running water soothes my soul and helps me to practice meditation..good place to get away from the noisi roads and daily activities
Very pretty place I recommend going here
Washed out several places but positivism pollution on here makes it appear quite different. Bathrooms closed for the winter season til March 15th? 9dd people stalking and attacking. Uploads take hours and only one file went up... Censored? Tech difficulties? What? Why? Hours change as parks not 24 hours...
Great trail in Arlington, easy hike, lots of shade, streams and well maintained. Also plenty of markers so you know where you are going and where you came from :)
Calm and quiet.
Small but beautiful.
Very lovely trail with the constant sound of running water from the creek and many dogs going out for runs. I really like this place.
Trails need a bit of new grading and the bridges that use to cross the creek have not be replaced yet (Feb 2020)
Hidden gem down the street from my house and I didnt know it was there until a few months after moving in. Fun place to take kiddos for walks and the temp there seems a little cooler than other areas due to shade from trees and water
Small trail that runs through the lubber run park. Very pretty park. Runs along the lubber run stream by the ampitheater.
My favorite place for meditation
Great little park with a stream running through the middle of it. Combination of asphalt and crushed stone paths.
Beautiful well kept place to walk your dog.
Great place a lot of memories!
Surprisingly rustic place in the middle of Arlington
This is an excellent stream valley park in the midst of urban housing in Arlington, VA. As with many of the urban streams a portion is made up of rubble from past building and drainage and channelization projects. If this stuff has been there for a while it gets overgrown and weathered and is almost part of the landscape. This stream cetainly has some of that but also lits of natural bedrock outcrops acting as edging and stream bottom. This is all mixed with natural stone and sand and whatever else has washed into the creek. But to be clear, what i saw was pleasant to look at and relaxing to walk along. I saw fish in the stream and little to no paper or plastic trash. There is an active ampitheater with sporadic arts events. I will go back to look around in the stream. We were observing myshrooms today and saw plenty of chantrelles and some chicken of the woods.
Nice short trail, good for a nice quick run
Short paved trail but good shade and a nice little brook. Big hill at the rt 50 end of the trail.
Cool
Great for kids
