Very nice place. Just 1.5 hours drive from Dallas. This beach is full with shades tree and lot if picnic tables. You can swim in the water as well. The view is amazing and relaxing. We didnt know every one would love this place so much until we get there.

Very clear water during the week when not as many people are there. Great place to put your canoe in and explore the coves. Sandy bottom at Sunset beach for swimming.

Pretty crowded, even during Corona Virus. I would think the park would meter how many people were at the beaches but apparently they don’t mind it.Beautiful lake though once you get away from the people.

Drove just over 2 hours here for a day trip. Somewhat disappointed.Pros: shaded, individual picnic tables and grills, ability to pull your car right up to the waters edge, large swim area, small playgroundCons: NO BATHROOMS, no sandy beach area.

Its a pretty good place to have fun, it may not be chrystal clear water, but still pretty fun to swim in. Lake Murray use to be free to go swim and let your children play in the the park but now it does cost you to park there, but its not expensive. For state residents its only 8 bucks, so its not too bad and if it helps fo improve Lake Murray then I am all for it.

Was busy labor day but was still awesome lake was clean minus some random stuff that blows off had a great time otherwise and the restroom facilities where shoes with plastic bags and bring your own stuff you may need it for sanitary reasons

Always love Sunset Beach. Choose wisely and early and enjoy the peace and quiet before the people come with their kids that they either dont watch or that they let scream and cry. yes, I have kids and grandkids.

Place was clean and trimmed. They have free life jackets there. The water entry was smooth instead of rocky. Great family place.

People. Throw your trash away...you know...in a trashcan!! The beach is nice. There are tables close to the water. A little secluded so not a lot of swimmers. We love it.

Very nice and relaxing. Not very crowded when we went. The water was nice and the sun was bright. Make sure you watch the beach cause it was easy to drift off from your spot. I wish that there were more trash cans around, make sure you bring something to put all your trash in and you can dispose of it on your way out.

So beautiful, great place to go relax and swim. Just a great day vacation spot for one or a whole family without spending money!

The beached was closed. I got out of my car and went down to the water to feed the geese. It was magical. Almost like being in a amusement park all alone.

It is okay to go and have a different fun day at the lake. It is small. Dont forget to take everything. There are some tables and grills to have a picnic. These tables are not enough for the public. We took all our food ready in our cooler.

My family always has a great time here! Give the kiddos a trip to the beach without breaking the bank or traveling far. Just make sure you come early if you want a good parking spot

They call this place Sunset Beach for a good reason. It has the most beautiful sunsets each and every night! Nice place to take the family to enjoy a swim.

Beautiful beach

This is a great little spot for a relaxing day. The beach isnt very large but does have a few small pockets of sandy area. The park has a few parking spots but fills up quickly on warm summer weekends. They have roughly a dozen above-ground charcoal grills and cement picnic tables. There is no running water and only vault-style toilets. A basic playground is also on-site. There is a designated swimming area and the water is relatively shallow - about waist deep at roughly 50 feet from shore. The lake bottom is a mix of sand and soil, with pockets of vegetation (outside the swimming area) so I recommend water shoes or sandals. The water is cool most of the year but warm enough to swim in, though rather murky. Visibility is no more than a few inches. Scenery at the park is good - plenty of trees on the lakeshore and great views across the water. Sunsets here can be quite spectacular.

Day use beach thats very serene. Very small with grills and picnic tables. Lots of shade trees. Its extremely small, but my family and I LOVE it!
