Been going to the Appleton Y for a few years now. Though I love Crunch and the other facilities I use to go to, I find the Y really accommodates those with families. Its nice to be able to work out while the kids play ball or swim. Though the lifting room is bit small, it has the essentials :) Staff has always been helpful from my perspective.I also like that they put the safety of its members 1st. I dont enjoy masks, but I do understand the reasons why were asked to wear them. I dont see anything wrong with being asked to wear one if it helps to keep others safe. Especially with the much older crowd I often see down there :)

Great YMCA. Has everything you would want from a YMCA for all ages with good hours and a lot of different activities!

Noone should support a fitness facility that requires masks its absolute political nonsense. I happily moved to xperience fitness. I couldnt take the hours that the Y had to offer and the prices are outrageous.

Customer service is not so great when it comes to membership renewal. Some of the staff do not maintain the information confidential...they loose paperwork easily. I was helped by a lady named Pang and she was not very helpful at all. But thanks to a gentleman Terry he was an awesome help for processing my membership! Thank you

We had a really lovely signup experience today with Fiona. She was so kind to my son and was patient with all my questions. She gave us a great tour and low-down. What a great first impression!

Great downtown YMCA. Parking is easy right across the street. Two pools, two gyms, nice weights. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great massages for the price by certified massage therapists. Offer a lot of programs for the whole family for your membership dues.If you use the facilities, take classes, have your kids enrolled in sports or swimming or camp you get your moneys worth!

Great Place to belong. I have been a member for over three years here in Appleton and I have been a member for 35 years in all. This is one the best place for the family and singles. If you are a senior or disabled you are accommodated and programs are available to meet your individual needs. The best staff and members, hours and facilities. You are greeted with a smile and treated like you are a valued person. Unlike some other places you are listened to by the management.Lastly, the Y has been around for many years and you can count on them to be around for a few more years. So you probably wont lose your membership because they have decided to close their doors.:)Come check it out, youll be glad you did.

The downtown YMCA of Appleton is a clean, safe place to spend a couple of hours in healthy activities and improve the quality of your life. All the staff that Ive met is friendly and courteous. The equipment is kept clean and in good repair and a pleasure to use. My membership costs me about a dollar a day. I used to spend $2.10 a day for a coffee and breakfast burrito at McDonalds. Im way ahead going to the Y.

I dont like to write negative reviews; I very very rarely do. I must first say that the gentleman at the check in desk and the younger guy in the family (non lap) pool were very very helpful. That being said this facility is disgustingly dirty, very unorganized, the majority of the staff are extremely rude. The lockers are rusted, mine had hair all over the place the showers are dirty the sauna is not well kept. The entire place is in dire need of updates and makes me very appreciative of my home YMCA....will not be back and will tell more of the horror stories I can not mention here.....the locker room is just shy of the bath houses you see on television

Helicopter staff. Staff spy on you in the locker rooms and staff chase members down the hallway to accuse members of not re-racking or wiping down equipment.

I am huge proponent of the YMCA. The services and opportunities for people of all ages truly contribute to healthy communities. My complaint is that it is not a safe place for children with food allergies. Child care staff routinely fail to monitor treats for allergens and subsequently feed children food that could result in illness and even death.

Has been nice for working out and kids sports programs, but do not think you can lock up your belongings and they will be safe there. Lock broken and valuables stolen from their locker room.

Dont work here if you need flexible scheduling, have to call in because of sickness, or if you have to cancel urgent doctors appointments because of them. Theyll fire you after your first week.
